I like this machine very much. It is fast and easy to use. Currently having a problem with the microphone which is too weak for Skype.

The laptop runs games such as csgo at 120 fps and the sound system on the laptop is very loud and high quality, you can also choose your settings for it on the equalizer.

My first laptop, and it has all the bells and whistles anyone could want. It has a disk drive so if I want to watch movies or store photos, I can.

This is my first experience with window 10 and am getting the hang of it. This computer is awesome. It starts up fast, and is flawless so far. Their were 2 things I was really interested in, the touch screen and the lighted keyboard. The keyboard has enough contrast on the keys that the (blue) keyboard back light isn't needed, but it helps in a totally dark room. BTW the keyboard light is the 6th key from the left on the top row. I am spoiled to the touch screen. It is so much easier to magnify or enlarge the page on a computer. The speakers are great, and they play loud for a laptop. Even my 16 dollar head phones are loud and sound great. I've had the best luck with ASUS and HP so far. Everyone that sees this computer wants one.

I got lucky as my server was a computer undergrad (Andy) and really knew his stuff about the laptops and accessories. Got great advice on the laptops features, the options available, and what would be good for student at Uni. My son said the laptop enhanced memory 16GB is more than enough for next 2yrs+, the dedicated graphics memory 4GB, the Windows 10 and Microsoft student package is fine for his needs. The backlit keyboard is useful for the midnight burn studying, and the touch screen is useful complement to the gaming standard mouse. All this and more for just over $1000 is a great value and investment for his undergrad years.

My needs focused on Excel spreadsheets and I needed a large screen with ten key pad in the keyboard. Also tend to have several tabs open in two different browsers and wanted extra RAM. This fulfilled all of my needs. It's a bit heavy, so not really for the toting around user, but in lap and easy chair ... works great for me.

Excellent Size. beautiful display, Good speed and memory for playing games, photoshop, etc.. with dedicated graphics (not a gaming laptop but perfect for games that are a bit older and don't need the fastest memory and processor) Excellent sound.

After being a "Toshiba guy" for the last 15 years (and 5 laptops). I knew I had to make a switch based some quality issues with newer models - never had any myself. The HP laptop is very fast and the screen is really sharp. I spend a lot of time on it...I am an online marketer (6+ hours/day) and it has been great. I wanted a computer with a CD drive and an Ethernet port (so I didn't have to sacrifice one of the USB slots... And pay for an adapter. I have a wireless mouse and at least 1 thumb drive in at all times so USB slots are sometimes in short supply, especially if I had to get an external CD/DVD drive. The one thing I wish it had was a backlit keyboard. I overlooked that at purchase and didn't realize it until I had it home and was setting it up. There is one strange graphics issue...sometimes when I go to a page, it looks like everything on the page has been selected...black box around the text, but when I run the mouse over it, it disappears. I used to have a similar issue with an old monitor...but this is only a month old and not a 4 year old monitor that ran 10+ hours/day.

I bought this to replace my HP Pavilion DV7. I wanted a full keyboard with a number pad and a 17 inch screen to match what I had before. I use this computer for business applications so it has plenty of power for what I need it to do. I use it primarily as a desktop computer, meaning I don't move it around much or use it on battery power so I can't speak to battery life. The backlit keyboard is a nice feature and the facial recognition for logging in is nice as well. The only negative I have is that it is Windows 10 home, I would have preferred Windows 10 Pro. I don't really have a use for the touch screen since this is not a tablet type computer but who knows, maybe there will be some future use for it.

Overall this laptop is great. I've had it for 2 years so far and use it for all my school work. It still has plenty of memory and runs very smoothly. It doesn't look like its going anywhere any time soon.

Bought this computer for the office since my last one crashed. So far this computer has been super-fast. Startup, shutdown, sleep functions are fast. I love that signing-in is so easy - facial recognition that actually works!!!! Programs are quick to open and I have to frequently use AutoCAD and Photoshop. I love the touch-screen feature and I love that I can draw on my screen with Photoshop and my 'Jot Pro Stylus' - so awesome!!! The screen resolution is the best resolution I have ever had on a computer - everything is so clear and detailed!!! I have been very pleased with this computer and people next to me have been impressed with it as well, so much that two more people here went and bought the same computer.

This is my second HP. You will find the lighted keyboard impossible to live without once you have used the lighted version. This HP had all the memory I need and connects to the internet super fast. I compared reviews for this model and the newer version, and like other reviewers, I found this machine to be very stable and easy to use. Do be aware that the keyboard has silver keys, not the normal black ones.

I like everything about this laptop with only a few negatives, but the good far outweighs the negatives. The laptop is durable and made well. It has a fast and powerful processor. The screen is large and has great quality. The only negatives are that it does not convert into a tablet and it's a bit heavy/large but that's minimal. The battery also doesn't have a long charge life, but it charges very fast.

After a rough start this computer is awesome! I got one and when I turned it on, I kept getting a fan error message, so I took it to the Geek Squad and they very quickly replaced it with a new one and was kind enough to transfer all the data I had just put on it. This one is working great and does all that I need it to do with ease! It is super fast and the case itself feels a lot sturdier than most and yet is very light weight. I do a lot on the internet, word documents, Adobe creative cloud projects and can have multiple programs open and working at once with no problems.

No, it doesn't have a back-lit keyboard. No, it's not flashy. But...this seems to be a very reliable, fast, steady machine. I use it for business, running seminars with 6 to 10 websites and applications at the same time. No lockups, no shutdowns, no disappointments. I would highly recommend this laptop for people who don't need total portability. It is large, the screen is very good, the usability is terrific and truthfully, it doesn't weigh any more than the 15.6" Samsung I used to have. I am very happy with my purchase.

I wanted a large touch screen and back-lit keyboard. As a CPA, the keyboard needed to be responsive and durable for data manipulation. Quick start-up, good feel, slim and lightweight have made me happy with its performance. 16GB memory helps with Windows 10 performance. Overall, very happy with purchase.

This computer is great! It took a little getting used to having a touch screen and learning Windows 10, but it's intuitive. Speed and quality of the computer are excellent. I'd like if the battery lasted a little longer though.

It's been a great computer thus far. I've had it a few months. I love the 17.3 inch computer screen so it feels large enough to read and work on, yet sit on my couch. The speed is something else with the 16 GIG of memory that really matches my high speed internet. I bought a VGA converter so I can attach a second monitor setting up a dual screen for working from home at times for use at my desk. This is where the 17.3 screen comes in very nice using a wireless mouse, keyboard, and extra HDMI outlets so you can get the feel of a desktop, by using a laptop. So, yes I would highly recommend to a friend.

I purchased a different HP computer and I took it back because it was terribly slow and the screen resolution was garbage. I have to say this computer and that computer are like night and day. It's super fast. I feel like I can fly through any job I need to complete on this computer and that is a great feeling. The screen is much better. I watched Netflix on this computer after watching on my former purchase and what a difference. It's pretty big but I don't mind since other things that are important to me have been checked. This is a great computer and you won't regret the purchase.
