If you tend to print a lot, this could be the printer for you. Epson's Eco Tank series of printers do not have replaceable cartridges, rather "tanks" that you simply refill with ink when needed. A nice feature is you can view the ink level from the front of printer. While having to pour ink into tanks is a slightly more tedious than simply popping in a new cartridge, it's still a pretty simple. A 65 mL bottle of black ink is good for about 4500 pages, and a replacement "kit" consisting of 4 ink bottles (approx. $55) will print up to 7500 pages of color print. There's a little more up front cost than some of the least expensive printers available, however ink costs for the EcoTank ET-2720 are much lower and the print quality is excellent, so over the long run it's a great value unless you rarely use a printer. While the main selling point of the Eco Tank ET2720 is that it is cartridge-free and has a much lower ink replacement cost, it's easy to overlook it's just simply an excellent printer. Setup was easy and straightforward, and the whole process including pouring the ink into the reservoirs and installing the software took less than 30 minutes. So far I’ve been impressed with the quality of the print. Advertised print resolution is up to 5760x1440. The EcoTank ET-2720 can handle multiple paper types including copy paper, photo paper, and envelopes. Paper feed is in the rear of the printer and the tray will hold about 75 sheets of standard copy paper. Print speed is quick for black and white and reasonable for color. The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 is an all-in-one printer, so you can also copy and scan with it. The scan quality is excellent if not a little slow, but scanning or copying is not as simple as it should be. While there's a button on the printer to scan/copy, it only works if it's connected via USB - if connected wireless it requires using the included software. This seems like an oversight to me. It also lacks an ethernet port, so your only connection options are USB or wireless. Another minor complaint is that the LCD display is rather small. Overall the EcoTank ET-2720 is a very good printer with excellent print quality, and ink that costs significantly less than its cartridge based competition. If you tend to use the printer often, it's offers an excellent potential for savings. If you rarely print, there's probably other alternatives which may offer a better initial price or a few more features -- and more value as you may not print enough to find value in the significantl reduced cost of replacement ink cartridges.

This Epson EcoTank 2720 is an easy set-up, fast printing, wireless printer. Having a printer connected to the WiFi is very important to us, as we have multiple devices that cannot connect to the printer. So wireless just adds an easier dimension for our household. Epson states that you get about 4500 pages of black/8500 pages of color prints. Just after a few HOURS of setting this up and printing a few pages, I’m led to believe that is not possible. Pros: - easy set up. This is important for me and after owning several printers through the years, setting up has become easier. Just remove the blue tape that holds the hinges and your ready to go. It does come with a CD setup disk but my computer doesn’t have a disc drive so it’s pointless. I’m glad they do offer it stills -Ink: you receive 4 bottles of ink where you fill the preinstalled cartridges. This is how the EcoTank system works: you refill through bottles which is supposed to save you 80% compared to cartridges. You place the bottles upside down to the individual color cartridge and wait while it empties out. Once the printer is powered on it then begins to charge the ink for use. Very fascinating way of setting up and to my surprise, there was no mess. -quality. You are required to print out a total of three pages to calibrate and align the ink for accurate printing. You then need to match on the screen which one has the best quality. That helps calibrate the ink so you have the best quality. The quality of the test pages was really crisp. After setting up the WiFi, I printed a mixed black/color print out and it looks great for an ink printer. Very nice! Cons: -Amount of ink used. I set off this review my skepticism on the amount of pages they believe you can print on one cartridge. After printing a total of 4 pages (3 for setting up and 1 actual print), the black ink had already drained a few notches (I provided the photo of this). At this rate I do not believe I will make it to 4500 pages. This is highly disappointing and inaccurate. -screen. This is TINY compared to other printers out on the market. The screen measures around 1” x 1”. Yes, it is very small and there does appear to have been enough room to expand that screen size. -page feeder. It is a top feed page feeder on the back, very much like your typical home printers. I feel that there could have been design to have a page tray at the bottom to help feed the paper. I’ve felt that too feeders jam more than other methods. Overall, the quality of this ink printer is amazing. Easy set up and wireless makes my home office painless. I am disappointed in the design and the inaccuracies of the ink longevity. Hopefully the costs of the refill bottles won’t break the bank.

Printed great for a short time period. Bought in 2020 because we were sick of buying expensive ink cartridges. But by 2021 the printing got worse and even more worse and now blank pages. The problem is these printers companies think everyone prints daily or weekly but some of us buy them to have when we need them. In the interim of us regular people not using on a weekly/monthly basis the ink dries up in tubes and air bubbles get into tubes/ink cartridges. Nothing is working did all the cleaning processes and even YouTube recommendations now left with yet another basically new printer and extra ink bottles

The Epson EcoTank printer was very easy to install, with clear well-written instructions. The display is well lit and readable. It's a very different way to fill ink chambers - with bottles of ink, rather than cartridges, but it was very easy to do and clean. There was not a drop of ink spilled filling up the four reservoirs. It claims to save money on ink - won't know that for a while, but seems logical. I really like that this printer can run on wireless or with a USB cable. We like to conserve our network since we have poor internet. One of the best features is the paper loading, which is quick and simple in the back of the printer, rather than having to open a tray. Very smart design. The print quality is very good. I compared it to an HP printer we have and it has the same crisp, clean printing on words and good quality on photos.

This Epson EcoTank is kind of mid-range economic printer. My first impression was about the weight of the device. It is extremely light! Usually printers are heavier. Priced wisely for moderate daily use. As the name, this is an Eco-Tank printer. The idea is to have an internal tank where the inks are directly filled-in. No hardware parts to replace (cartridge) only add ink. Compared with other inkjet printers, you pay only for the ink you buy. Filling up the printer is very easy! I was afraid to fill up the container with the wrong ink but the bottles are keyed. They only fit in their dedicated colors. Filling up the tanks was very easy! Just plug the refill bottle and wait. The filling progress is very clear to see from the front of the printer. The first time, the printer took about 8 min to get ready and purging the air from the lines. WiFi setup was very easy, just entering the network password. Win10 added it automatically. ChromeOS also had no issues adding the printer. Linux (Ubuntu) driver install was very simple. No issues. Also cloud printing setup worked well. It is a nice feature if you often print from your phone or portable devices (chromebooks as well). Printer is working quietly. Printing speed is good and printing quality is very good. I checked the prices for refill bottles, they are really cheap and affordable (talking Epson products). Couple things I don't like about this printer: 1- the paper is top fed. Still, this is a base model... 2- the LCD screen is very tiny. Again, this is the affordable model... Other things are just perfect and good. Very effective printer. I would recommend this printer to everyone looking for a high quality printing with cheap ink refilling. A refill that you have to do less frequently.

The company I work for purchased one of the larger EcoTank units after getting tired of ordering specialty cartridges that would last 6 weeks at most. We print every day and a quality printer was needed. After just 2 weeks of using the EcoTank we ditched another printer and got a second EcoTank. We've been using them at work for over a year and have YET to need to replace any ink in them. They are used EVERY day multiple times a day. The quality is superb on both color and black and white. Scanning and saving is a breeze. Our units at work do have a paper tray and top load feed option for scanning but when I purchased this unit for home, that wasn't needed as I just needed something compact and great on ink to remotely work from home during the COVID-19 crisis. Our old printer was a money eater. Took those specialty cartridges that have chips with date stamps or some other voodoo magic that makes it so even if you only print once in 6 weeks the next time you go to print that brand new authentic cartridge that cost 36 bucks told you it was empty and you need to replace the cartridge before it will print again. I was so fed up with it the higher price tag of the EcoTanks I KNEW was 100% worth every penny. My EcoTank at home now gets plenty of use and I'm not worried one bit about ink issues. Mad props to Epson for the design. It's slim, white, clean, small, and just perfect for what we need at home. 10/10 recommend to everyone I know.

High quality and small printer for cheap price and fast printing

Tanks of ink, not tiny cartridges, tanks! Wireless! It has its own email address - you just email your printing to it 24/7 from anywhere in the world! It's Star Trek stuff! It scans, it copies it prints, it will even do two-sided printing. I'm training mine to polish shoes next. My previous printer's ink was equal to the purchase price for the printer. One fill up here guarantees you 6500 pages! or more. I'm sold on the concept and so far on the performance. I'd recommend this to anyone - already am bragging about it to friends - well-built,nice footprint, great copies and documents, colors are great, lots of diagnostics, reasonably fast output, the perfect printer for a busy family/home. Simple interface nice supporting software and integrated well into all my PC programs. Should be on everyone's think-about-this list.
