I decided to purchase the Epson 3700 because the ink value / tanks will save me money in the long term over purchasing cartridges a couple times a year. My last printer purchase was 2007 (a Canon MP610 that decided not to recognize Canon print cartridges anymore) and I spent at least $100 / yr on cartridges. You do the math after ten years that's a lot of money. I figure if the Epson lasts...it will be a good decision $$ wise.
Set up did take some time like the reviewers said it would. Not everything was intuitive, but I finally got it "initialized" and a test page printed.
The process of getting the WI-FI connected was a little more challenging. Got the printer itself connected to my home WI-FI, but couldn't "find" it on my laptop. Managed to get a USB connection, but that defeats the wireless advantage. Finally I figured out that my firewall / antivirus was blocking the connection. After going into my firewall settings and whitelisting the printer, I was then able to find the printer by using its IP address. Now all is good and it is working sweet! Colors look good and it does print B/W fairly quickly. However, there IS some lag time when a document is loading to the print queue.
I make absolutely no claims about knowing IT stuff, but somehow managed to figure all that out on my own...the install instructions were no help with getting the printer installed on my laptop with a working Wi-Fi connection. But...if I can do it, so can you.
Like I said IF this Epson last longer than two years, the extra $$ up front will be a good investment and I will save $$ in the long term.

Ink lasts but not perfect

The photos are not as bright and detailed as like an HP printer but the ink lasts way longer! Worth the sacrifice to me. It’s also pretty loud when it prints and the screen stays lit up almost all the time for updates and such. Seems reliable and good quality. Pricy up front but will save me several hundred in the next handful of years on ink. I like the small size too. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with this printing unit. It is a great value all things considered.

Works great! Easy to set up & fill cartridges with ink. Connected to our home wifi network easily. I can even print from my phone. Never been able to do that before. Anything on the same network can print. Great color. Also scans copies, & faxes. Haven't tried printing photos yet but it has a setting for it.

After my third HP all in one printer failed after minimal usage, I decided to look at other brands and really liked the design feature of this printer. I like the cartridge-less design as I believe that most of my prior issues were tied to cartridges drying out and constant paper feed issues. I have only had this product a short time but love the ink-well concept and 2 year supply of ink included, I have used this printer moderately since receipt to check for any hiccups on paper feeding and/or print quality, This printer has performed flawlessly with zero issues to date. My only mild concern is that it does seem to be a little bit louder than my pervious printers but it's not something that bothers me or I would have probably noticed if I hadn't read about this in prior reviews.. bottom line.. I love this printer so far and have confidence that it will be reliable and more economic than the HP units I owned previously. I will never own another HP printer product under any circumstances.

I bought this in February. I have printed so many pictures, reports, shipping labels and etc. The ink level is still near the top. I've gone through packs of paper but still only used one set of ink bottles. I love that Epson sends out many updates. I found the easiest way to print is to hook it up to your WiFi or LAN and just email the printer . No worries each printer brings its own email address just save it to your contacts when it prints that sheet with the info. You don't have to be home or near the printer for it to print out your attachment. I have used many other brands , and I've spent thousands on print cartridges. You get sets of bottles of liquid ink that could last you up to 2 years. setup was easy . I have no complaints even after months of use .

I very happy with this printer so far. I normally buy the workforce printer but went with the simpler printer this time. I say simple because do to features that the workforce has that this one does not. I could have got the Workforce version of the CSI but didnt want to pay another 100 for features i did not use,,,,, overal the printer scans and prints. works with my cell phone and dont have to worry about ink issues.....

This printer is compact, efficient and practical for personal use and for a small home office. The print quality is very good and the fact that it is wireless eliminates the need for space to accommodate extensive wires. I would recommend this product wholeheartedly.

The only change I would make id a touch screen! If they had a touch screen it would be the best printer I have ever owned. The ink usage is great and it comes with a second set so you truly do not spend anything on ink in the first year. Great prints and scans and very easy to use.

Giving this a 4 star for now as it was easy to set up and I bought it so I wouldn't have to spend $$$$ on printer cartridges in the future. This is an Eco-Tank printer so the $$ were upfront on the printer purchase. Would give it a 5 star if there was touchscreen, otherwise I am very happy with this purchase.

We've had this printer for a couple of months now, and it's been absolutely stellar. Bought it on sale with an additional promotion (after recycling our old printer). Went through the easy setup steps with no issues. The longest part of the whole process was waiting for it to charge the ink. (This is a several minute process.)
Once it was setup, I had three laptops and three mobile phones all printing to it in less than 10 minutes. Haven't had a single issue with it yet, and the printing has been flawless.
Bought the model a couple of steps down from this one for my mom, and she's doing great with it as well.
Plus, love the idea of not having to buy cartridges anymore!

Amazing and reliable printer. The best feature for me is the ease to print from my phone. I only wish I had bought the larger model to have a feed tray and scan multiple pages.

Love the ink tanks. Haven't had to buy or change inks since we got this thing over a year ago. The heads don't clog and the prints are great. Even print a few 4x5 and 5x7 pictures with great quality. My only negative is that there is only one paper tray and it doesn't slide completely out of the machine, Use the scanner function a lot too. Have no complaints with the HW, but its SW is less user friendly than in the past. Overall we are very glad we switched to the tank.

So I had enough of traditional inkjet printers. Dropping cash every couple of months. My kids are in high school and they are always working on projects and papers and my printer wouldn’t print if one color was low. Even if it was black and white.
Finally a company invented a non laser printer to compete.
Epson hit a home run. While I’ve only owned it for less than a a month I’m loving it. It’s wireless and you can print from iPads, laptops and other networks items.
The printer is super small and it’s an all in one.
It also scans items as PDF which my HP wouldn’t.

The print quality and speed of this inkjet printer is decent...I would give it good marks compared with the entry-to-mid range printer market.
However, those cheap printers come with almost bone-dry ink cartridges which then must be replaced very quickly. A full set of black/color ink cartridges often is 50%-100% the price of purchasing the printer in the first place!
This printer doesn't need cartridges. Instead, it contains 4 ink reservoirs which you refill with ink that's sold in bottles. The refill process is easy and surprisingly clean (no ink blotches on clothes or hands after filling!). Compared to cartridges, this printer can hold more ink, the bottles can hold more ink, and the cost per drop of ink is a small fraction of what you pay for cartridge-based printers.
This printer comes with a supposed 2yr supply of ink in the box. That's two sets of bottles. You use the first set when you initially fill the reservoirs. We've been using another one of these for almost a year and it's black is about half empty, and the color is still about 80% full.
Another thing I like about this printer is that each reservoir has a physical window so you can see the real ink level. No more software lying to you and telling you to replace ink too early!
So if you compare this with other printers, you should compare the cost of the initial purchase PLUS the ink you will purchase during the next two years. When you do that, this printer wins on cost. by. a. long. shot. Period.

So far this Epson is the best printer I have ever owned. It took a bit to get the wireless connecting where it should, but now it it is working like a champ. Not having cartridges is the biggest advantage for me. I print a lot and spent hundreds on replacement cartridges and/or refill kits. Now I just fill the tanks and rock on. Amazing. Print quality is great and it meets every need that I have in a printer. If it holds up, and I have a feeling that it will, I can easily say this is the best printer I have ever owned.

The printer is fairly compact, which is what I wanted for the space that I am using. Set up was straight forward, but it took a little time to completely set up. If you are ordering online, please be aware that there is no auto feed for documents. You will need to place them on the glass to copy or scan. I thought that I might have some trouble setting it up for wifi printing, but that was not the case. It went smoothly. I was also able to take advantage of a $100 trade in rebate at the store, making this purchase an even better value.

We replaced our old Epson with this new Eco Tank 3700, and so far we couldn't be happier! This printer is everything as advertised, and puts out a good quality print. It is easy to set up, and load with ink, I am excited to know I do not have to search for ink cartridges on sale! I love the two sided print, that saves so much paper and eliminates the need to get up and turn the printed page around and put it back in teh paper tray. Call us very happy so far!

This printer was easy to set up thanks to Epson's clear instructions. I was a bit hesitant about filling the ink tanks myself but the task proved to be no problem. When the tank is full, the bottle seals off to prevent overfilling. Also, the tanks are in front making access easy. My only complaint is that I've had problems with the paper feed and the printer's not recognizing the presence of paper. The print quality is adequate for my needs. All in all, I'm looking forward to saving money on ink as I estimate the 3700's inks will cost me one-third of what my HP cartridges cost.
