This is a very great projector considering the price tag under $2000. It is true HDR (not real 4K) and enhances 1080p to UHD seamlessly. It even plays 4K content.

this is single handed the best 4k projector on the market for the 2000 dollar price tag. if you have a dedicated home theater room then this is worth it over the 5040ub. it has stunning picture quality with enough blacks. it also has the the motorized lens which made my life easier when mounting. this was because i did not have to get it too accurate because could move the picture around with lens shift.

Amazing picture coming from this Projector. I also bought a Epson Duet 80" screen to compliment my setup. Amazing colors. Amazingly clear text. And awesome gaming experience. Unfortunately, I am having difficulties setting this projector to use HDR10 for gaming on the Xbox One S. According to some users, this projector doesn't support HDR gaming on the Xbox One consoles... Very dissapointing. The "4Ke" wording really should be QHD (Double 1080p) as this projector accepts and scales down native 4K content. Great Projector from EPSON. Highly recommend this one over the Epson 3700, Epson 2150, and LG LED beams.

Great Projector for home theatre, Good throw distance for bigger rooms . Only suitable for bigger rooms . Can easily do 200 inch screen in a bigger room as it has good throw distance .. Have it about 2 years , no issues what so ever . Negative : Lacks HDR color accuracy, long throw distance needed for bigger screen .

This projector is bright and fast. Big improvement from my Epson 5010 this replaced. The 4k enhancement tech looks good. HDR is honestly just ok, but projectors just don't do HDR well. For me, this projector is something that will keep me compatible with 4k while I wait for true 4k projectors to come down in price (sub 3k) and support more standards. Really enjoying this projector right now though.

I've had this projector about 3 months now and when I first got it I loved it cause you could do everything by the push of a button but now that I've used it and it has about 300 hours of watching time on it its biginning to flicker and I have adjusted all the settings and it still has a flicker and I was told when I purchased this projector I would get about 5000 hours of lamp life this unit still works as of now but as I said it only has 300 hours of watching time on it so far and it already flickering not sure as to why was told online that the bulb was going out or ageing but this projector is still pretty new and shouldn't be flickering that fast I purchased this unit as an exchange back in Sept of 2018 and it was installed in my theater till the middle of November of 2018 and already flickering but for most part it is worth it has excellent picture and everything is adjusted by touch of a button which I love but of be careful of the lamp cause I do know if mine goes out I will be taken it back to the store where I purchased it but as of now it's still working but it does flicker alittle AND IT SHOULDN'T as I said before it's only had bout 300 hours of watching time on it I just do a lot of research and questioning about the lamp life before I purchased

I bought this to upgrade a cheap projector that was in my house when I moved in. This give a super clear picture and I couldn’t be more pleased. The only issue is that the size of the projector is massive. My ceiling in the basement is lower and I can’t stand up underneath it.

I’ve been using this for about a month and so far it’s been great. Wonderful picture, very clear and vivid colors. Was easy to add to my home entertainment system and install instructions was pretty simple. Came with everything I needed for ceiling mounting.

Great picture. Easy install. Would have given a 5 star but setup instructions for focus were lacking. Ceiling mounted. My setup was completely out of focus and couldn't read the screen. Had to punch through buttons to figure out the focus. Lens button does zoom, focus and shift but didn't say what order. Once focused setup was a breeze.

After long studies online comparing various projectors I settled on one of these 3: Epson 4000, Epson 4010, or the Epson 5040ub. I had ruled out getting another DLP projector as I occasionally saw rainbow effects and they were irritating. Originally, I was set on getting the Epson 5040ub for the superior contrast and black levels; yes they are much better on the 5040ub. However, based on my viewing setup which is not a pitch black bat-cave, I would not benefit very much from the projectors better blacks and contrast. Whenever you have ambient light in your viewing environment the picture quality takes a huge hit. So the 5040ub was out for this reason. Another reason I didn't buy the 5040ub was because it still can't do 60fps, and at $2500 it's too expensive to be that outdated (hopefully the replacement 5050ub will have the ability to do it). Epson 4010 - after studying out the specs for this new model that replaces the Epson 4000 it became apparent that the "upgrades" were very very minimal. The contrast and lumen improvements along with supposed 4k enhancement were all too small to warrant spending so much more this model, especially considering no real upgrades were brought to the table (still no ability to play 60fps). Epson 4000 - the winner for me. Best price on sale for $1399. Best feature set - pretty much exactly the same as the 4010 model for $600 less. A step down in picture quality from the 5040ub, but given my average living room environment (I don't have black or dark walls or ceiling) I honestly couldn't make use of the extra benefits the 5040ub would afford (plus like I mentioned before it's too expensive to still come with the inability to play 60fps content in 2018!). I hope this has been insightful and helpful!

I’ve only had this product for about a month. This was an upgrade from a previous model. So far so good in terms of functionality but for the $1000 difference in price it is honestly nothing we can see in differences from a picture perspective to the naked eye.
