This projector has an amazing picture for the price. Only drawback is you’ll need an av receiver as there are no speakers or ports for audio.

We have had this unit operational now for only a month or so. Compared to our old projector this is killer. It can be watched in daylight without darkening the room but if you have full sun some darkening of the room is suggested. We haven't tried the 3D option yet but if it is anywhere near the quality of the 2D picture it will be fantastic.

This projector was selected to use in my media room for football, movies, and video games. The picture is clear from all sources.

The pictures are clear and sharp. Can I have another one? For free though..lol

For the price, the projector give me great picture quality comparable to movie theaters. I enjoyed playing it for long hours on end without warming up to the point of shutting it down to cool off. I am still exploring all the exciting possibilities this projector.

waited what seemed to be forever to actually purchase this Epson while building my home theater which turned out awesome! finally finished it and ordered the projector sweet for the first 2 months.....now today my Epson will not power on! contacted Epson and was told the projector is defective and they will replace it...while that's cool and all now I am worried that my choice in projectors was all wrong....2 months? wow...I can't answer if I would recommend this to a friend but it looks as though I have to answer it if I want to post this so.....

This Projector reinvented my theater experience. The Resolution is amazing I don't have a screen yet but the quality Im getting now Im pretty sure I don't need one.

Easy setup, wonderful 3D experience and no problems at all! Great for everyone for every purpose, and a real movie experience without the crowds !

I wasn't sure what to expect while unboxing the Epson Home Cinema 4000 3LCD projector but from the size of the box I anticipated something big. As I revealed the contents I was truly surprised by the beast of a projector within. Measuring about 20 x 18 x 7 and weighing in at about 24 pounds I was impressed on sight. Included in the box was the power cord remote and batteries along with some basic documentation. My only prior projector experience was using basic projectors at work for presentations. This was obviously stepping into a new realm. I already knew the impressive specifications including 3LCD 3 chip technology, HDR, 2,200 lumen brightness, 140,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1080p resolution with 4Ke support. Truly feature packed at this price point. What I couldn't wait for however was what would all these specs mean to the viewing experience. I referenced the quick setup guide to get up and running. I was expecting a complicated setup so I was relieved to instead discover that setup was a breeze. I simply connected a source and powered on the projector. All you really need to do is position your projector, press the pattern button, and then use the remote to focus the image and zoom to your desired screen size. I then switched the source to my 4K blu-ray player. I have a 65 inch Samsung 4K television so I must admit I expected to be somehow disappointed by the Epson. Wrong. I hit play on Deadpool and I was stunned by the brightness, resolution and contrast. Deadpool was suddenly more visually impressive. I was curious about the 4Ke specification. The Epson 4000 doesn't support true 4K but instead uses a 4K enhancement technique of pixel shifting which in effect double the visible pixels. One would be hard pressed to tell the difference and the result is truly impressive. I'm sure due largely to the other strengths of the Epson 4000 with support of HDR10. Contrast level is amazing at 140,000:1 with Epson UltraBlack. The unit itself is also surprisingly quiet. I don't even really ever notice it running. I haven't used it yet but I'm glad this unit also supports 3D. The image quality surpassed that of my 4K tv and now I had something else I had also desired for a long time. A massive screen! You can project an image from 50 inches to 300 inches wide. That's 25 feet! I suddenly had a theater in my family room. I was only projecting on the wall at this point but knew instantly I had to purchase a screen. I decided on a 125” screen. Oh what an experience. As expected the screen took the Epson 4000 to a new level. Next step is to get this baby mounted on the ceiling. One feature Epson failed to mention is impressing your family and friends. Highly recommended.
