Horrible service for a non working product

I bought this printer as a backup for the photo printer we use at work. It sat on the shelf completely unopened for almost a year. When I did open it and try to use it nothing worked. Epson's oh so friendly service people told me that it was out of warranty even though it had obviously never been used. They said "take it to our recommended repair facility because it may be something simple". No luck. It just ended up costing me more money for nothing!
