Another great 80's film from John Carpenter. Love how dark this movie is, both literally how it was shot and the overall tone of the film. This is a classic from the 80's if you love a fun action movie with a pretty simple plot. Get and get out. It's that simple. If you love the 80's and love action movies then be sure to pick this up.

I love this movie because of the story line and the actors. Be mindful it came out in the early 80s but they showed Manhattan in the future as an island prison with the president of the US kidnapped somewhere on the island. Great movie with Kurt Russell, Issac Hayes and Donald Pleasance to name a few.

Escape from New York, a movie from one of my favorite director's and writer's John Carpenter. This movie was ahead of it's time, and I do believe it was made to warn us, what may happen if we go too much into a police state. I am happy that John Carpenter makes movies that have a meaning behind them.

One of director John Carpenter's best directed movies, Kurt Russell gives a stellar performance in one of his best roles ever, the musical score is captivating also done by Carpenter which adds to the depth of the film and makes it even more enjoyable. Great movie you want to see over and over again.

This is a classic film. Cult classic, but classic none the less. Kurt Russell does a pretty good job playing Snake. Yes, it is silly at times, but it doesn't really try to take itself seriously too often. Big hair! What were we thinking of! Kids won't get it, but that's part of the fun.

The port over to Blu-ray was done very well, much clearer than the DVD version I currently have. Get it now before it is gone and not in production again. And yes it does come with the DVD but the DVD is the exact version that I currently have and is low quality, but the Blu-ray is very well done!

I still remember as a teenager when this came out. Loved it then and still love it now. Snake Pliskin probably his best character besides Captain Ron. LoL Nice metal case to keep safe from the dregs of society.

The Shout Factory edition of this film is wonderful. It is loaded with many extras (three commentaries, six featurettes, deleted scenes, and trailers). The picture quality is quite good, and I would recommend this for anyone interested in John Carpenter or the film.

Now I say one of his best because I think "Halloween" and "The Thing" are his best! This is right there with "Christeen" and "The Fog" and "They live" . This is a fun scyfy that has become a cult classic. Kurt Russell is great and you have great costars.

This movie is one of the best forgotten movies ever. And what I mean by that is, you may remember it, but until you rewatch it you won’t realize just how amazing this movie is. From the one liners, to the setting, to the amazing anti-hero that’s Snake (The names Plissken) It’s a movie you’ll want to watch from time to time.

Shorter in length than I remember from my first viewing on cable as a kid. This is a decent transfer and overall a decent looking movie. The 5.1 mix was a surprising addition but not as immersive as I hoped since the movie itself doesn't have particularly great sound. It's still fun to see Snake running around NYC inverted into a giant prison.

This is a great mind-blowing, vision seeking film that takes place in post-apocalyptic Manhattan... It features warrior Snake Plissken fighting crime, and New York creeps inside a large city prison. The President is in danger and he's the only guy for the job!

I saw this movie a long time ago and in fact it led to a sequel movie but I prefer this one. I know it had many criticisms but I really enjoyed the story even though a lot of people thought it was far fetched. If you like a movie which has a hero bad guy and that has to save the country and president you will totally enjoy this one.

The video and sound quality on this Collector's Edition of Escape from New York are top of the line here. If you do not own this movie this is the perfect one to pick up for your library. Great special features and commentaries too.

John Carpenter's sublime "Escape From New York" has only gotten better with age. Yes, the technology is dated, but the script is still very smart, and the action is very well shot and edited. Kurt Russell is awesome as Snake, and the score is to die for.

I've been itching to get the scream factory release of escape from New York for a while now but then they announced the steelbooks and I was sold to wait for when these released. And I was glad I did. Great packaging for a great movie.

This is a cool movie with Kurt Russell and a cult favorite by director John Carpenter. This 2 disc edition is cool and worth the upgrade, blu-ray video quality is very good and better than dvd. Not my favorite carpenter film but still really cool.

This is my favorite besides The Thing and Big Trouble of the Kurt Russell/John Carpenter movies. Love the music and story line. Snake Plissken is my favorite character. Love the line throughout the movie " I thought you were dead1"

Much like the history of these United States, New York came before Los Angeles. The first "Escape," I believe, is way better than the second one with more life-like situations. Kurt Russell is the man's man when it comes to movies.

The movie speaks for itself, a John Carpenter classic. Put that in a limited edition steelbook package and that just makes it even better. Production is limited to 10,000 units so get yours while you can! You won't be disappointed.
