This radio can be charged via its built in solar panel, a USB charger or mechanically making it perfect for bad weather prep and use during any power outages. It receives excellent FM reception.

We have had many power outages due to severe weather. This little unit has been ready for when I needed it. It is solar and has a hand turbine that lets you manually recharge the battery should the power be out that long.
It has the outlets for charging your cell phone as well as has a flashlight. I keep this in my office and I have enjoyed the convenience of having it all in one little device.

Small radio, controls are too close together so it's very difficult to change channels or fine tune it to a channel that you want to hear. It didn't come with a standard power cord, only a USB power cord to plug in to either your computer or another cord that accepts a USB cable.

We bought this weather radio to use when the power is out. Haven't had to use it yet but like the fact that it can be charged by solar, usb or hand crank (although 5 min. of cranking will only get you a couple min. of use.)
The instructions are not very good but it should get you what you need in a weather emergency.

Thought it would be a good idea after sandy, rechargeable battery only option is not a good idea. The crank to charge those batteries feel flimsy, almost as if you crank it too hard it'll break. It also takes a good amount of work to charge it, should have a replaceable batteries option. Not sure how well the solar charger is.

This is a handy little flashlight for power outages - I like the different ways it can be charged & that it has a radio that doesn't rely on electricity or cellphone service

Emergency Radio

Living in Florida I purchased this radio in the event of a storm emergency. What a great, convenient item to have! In the event of electricity failure the radio can be charged by built in solar cells. Without sunlight you can hand crank to charge the batteries. You can also plug it into a wall outlet, computer, or car to charge. It has AM/FM/Weather bands and even a LED flashlight! You also can plug in your cell phone to trickle charge it for emergencies. You will need a 5 volt charger (type that is supplied by cell phones) and several cables to attach it to use every charging feature, but if you are like me, you probably have a drawer full of cables already.

I got this present for my sister in law for Christmas. It is very well built. Takes quite a bit to use the turbine, but that is to be expected with a hand crank radio. She loved it.
