Great movie and we love watching it over and over. The acting is superb.

I usually don't care for musicals, except for this one. What a great take on historical events of the Peron era in Argentina! Lots of eye candy, great acting and directing.

Passionate and charming, this is a well-acted and sung musical is both entertaining and a memorable view – you will see it again and it’s even better the 2nd time around!  The follow-on views of this musical are always memorable and a pleasure especially on the Blu-ray Edition with its’ superb picture, brighter colors and 5.1 dtsHD sound track. Wow, what a view and the Peron and Evita Medley is nothing short of peaceful and enchanting.

Finally Evita on Blu-Ray. For years I waited for a better transfer. The DVD was not even anamorphic and was not watchable on an HDTV. This is a great musical that doesn't get enough credit. The singing and acting performances by the principals are really good. People forget Madonna won the Golden Globe for her performance of Evita. Highly recommended if you are a fan of this version or if you want to re-discover this Andrew Lloyd Webber classic.

I am very happy to have this remarkable movie on a great blu-ray presentation. The acting and music is terrific. If you never seen this before, please know in advance that this entirely presented almost entirely in music and song with very little spoken dialog.

Evita, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is an under-appreciated work of magnificence! Madonna does not disappoint with an outstanding performance in the title role. The musical numbers "Buenos Aires," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," and, of course, "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" remind the viewer of the genius of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The quality of this Blu-ray product is obvious relative to enhanced sound and picture clarity. A definite improvement over the standard DVD issue. It allows one to fully appreciate the beauty of yet another Andrew Lloyd Webber masterful art coupled with quality performances of Madonna and Antonio Banderas. Ole!

I can't believe it's been 25 years since I first saw it in theaters. Still great after repeated viewings. Madonna does a great job sings throughout the entire film.

One of my favorites movies of all time and well worth the price too. Anyone who is a fan should get this i got it for $8.99 how good if a price is that?

An underrated version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical with an impressive performance by Madonna. Evita is excellent.

I saw the movie on big screen several years ago when it came first to movie theaters and liked it a lot. I have also seen the show, which was really good. I liked the story, acting and the music (of course). If you like musicals, go for this one. You will like it. The Blu Ray disc is also very good and comes with outstanding picture and sound. Best Buy price was really good. Highly recommended.

Her acting and singing is beyond amazing to her ability to be so talented. She is Evita!!!

Not a Madonna fan but she does well but Antonio Banderas is excellent as Che! Great visuals and impressive crowd scenes. Actually made in Argentina on the actual locations!

Just returned from an extensive vacation and haven't had a chance to watch yet

"Madonna" is "My Lady" in Italian, and, during the Renaissance, was not only used in reference to Mary, but also to all ladies of importance. It is only fitting that one of the most important women in the history of the Western Hemisphere, Evita Peron, was played by one of the world's greatest singers, who bears that name! According to Wikipedia, the President of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner, believes that all women owe a debt to Evita for her "example of passion and combativeness." Through this movie, and the stage play on which it was based, we learn how Evita rose from complete poverty to a strong activist who championed women's rights in South America and who helped to shatter the glass ceiling over there! Little more needs to be said about Madonna's renowned rich singing voice and wide range as she belts out the songs throughout the film with conviction, yet we feel Evita's pain as she softly warbles out the last song in which the 33-year-old dying First Lady admits that she could have lived longer, had she not been so dedicated to upholding the dignity of the Argentine people. Madonna is as strong an actress as she is a singer, portraying both Evita's vitality and courage, in both sickness and in health. Tim Rice's lyrics and Andrew Lloyd Webber's music help bring the story to life, with Antonio Banderas as Che Guevara showing all of Evita's supposed wrongdoings, making her all the more human. While I said that a knowledge of Argentine history would be helpful in our appreciating the film, I admit that the reverse can also be said - after having seen this movie, I was inspired to go out and learn more about this powerful and ambitious and exemplary lady, who fought bravely to the very end!

This is why musicals are back! Madonna shines in this massive movie. Very political & brilliant cinematography, but the actress Madonna bangs it out of the park. I watched it with my Mom who could care less about any actor and she said the woman who played EVITA was so brilliant that she is now my favorite & I said Mom that is Madonna! She said then that Madonna deserved more awards then she got after I told her about her winning the Golden Globe & not being nominated for the academy. She went off. Madonna breathes fire power into an old story!
