Really great film. First time seeing this film I walked away with a "what did I just watch?" kind of feeling. Now after seeing it 3x I love it. The 4K presentation here is solid. The DTS X sound is fine but nothing bombastic really happens audio wise in the film. This is a classic "slow burn" type of film with great performances from the 3 actors. Oscar Issacs is fast becoming one of the greatest actors I've ever seen.

This movie is only good when Oscar Issac is dancing like a silly goose. Thankfully, its enough to hold this movie up. I would also totally fall for her, I just know myself like that.

I really liked this movie, but I felt with a little more time and attention I could've loved this movie. Felt parts ran a little slow and when I really got into it it ran too fast. I did cave in a bought the 4k version to give it another chance and I figured a different format might have me appreciate it a little more.

Alicia Vikander, Domhnall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac star in this brilliantly written and directed film from Alex Garland. Gleeson is great as a young genius who is asked by a renowned scientist to see if he has truly created artificial intelligence. While the sci-fi is great, the human story is also fantastic. I can’t recommend this film enough.

Good movie, unimpressive 4k, HDR and Atmos

Good plot, great visual effects. But do not need to buy the 4k version over the 1080p Blu-ray. No noticeable increase in detail, HDR is very minimal, expanded color is nice but not needed in this film. There is no Atmos effects I could notice besides light ambiance. Overall, good movie, just would buy the 1080p version.

I watched this movie on prime streaming previously, lukewarm impression at the time. I can’t find a better example of multidirectional audio transforming my impression of a movie. The nuance sounds embedded in the lossless format builds suspense and highlights the plot. Night and day compared to streaming. DD+ is a joke!

Very well done movie showing the many incoming inevitable issues from when hyper intelligent A.I. and Quantum computer driven robots/androids come to life.

This was a great movie, especially for computer science graduates, as it explores what makes a robot self-aware? The twists and turns are delightful, and the characters are hilarious at times, depraved in others, and yet all believable. It's funny to think the two main actors also play enemies in the Star Wars films lol...

I love 95% of this movie. It's the last 5% I'm not a fan of. I know a lot of people love this movie throughout, so while I won't spoil it here, the end for me is a little bit of a let down. But the performances are great and the picture and audio are rock solid on the 4k transfer.

This movie made me glad I have a 4K super duper TV. The small details and the large scenic shots are just beautiful. The story makes one uncomfortable at times but that's because it is impossible to resist becoming to some extent the various characters and there are several interesting characters.

The 4K UltraHD/effects were great. The movie was interesting. It keeps you thinking. It is definitely a new approach to AI storytelling. You see the story through a variety of characters through this multilayered experience.

The direction is a bit predictable and the film goes on for a few minutes past what should be its conclusion (even though I like the last shot), but this is an intelligent sci-fi that offers an amazing production design and impressive visual effects.

Ex Machina is a pleasant treat of a film. You never know where it is going and is such a unique and compelling story. The visual effects are stunning and the acting is incredible. A highly inventive Sci-fi flick that one will never forget.
