A great sci-fi movie that was overlookedBut it’s not too late it’s a classic and I watched it again and again what a great concept

Ex Machina is memorable, presenting a story that blurs the lines between real and artificial intelligence. Definitely worth watching.

This may be a low-budget film, but the effects are amazing and the cinematography is top-notch. The setting is in an isolated modern home build on an island oasis by a high-tech genius designing an artificial intelligence so advanced, it may pass as human in the form of a beautiful young woman. A young male employee of his company 'wins' a stay with the CEO of the company on his remote island sanctuary for what he feels is a simple weekend hanging with the boss. In reality, he becomes a key in a social experiment to validate the effectiveness of this new AI. The film is beautifully shot and very thought-provoking. Some might say it is slow, but my wife and I were totally engaged. It questions what is human and whether we should be challenging nature with AI that can think and feel emotions. Other films have treaded this territory as well, but this one has a different take on it and does it so masterfully with such incredible performances, that it cannot be missed. On Blu-ray, this film looks amazing. Do yourself a favor and see this film.

The visuals are very pleasant. Has some interesting takes on AI robotics. Very entertaining and engaging.

First of all the movie started off kind of slow, but then you get sucked in and go on a mind roller coaster...

"Ex Machina" is a terrific film, but if you purchase it please be aware that there is a known issue with certain printings of the 4K Blu ray that are defective. If you buy this and the main menus don't load and the film freezes at precisely 58:05, then you got one of the defective copies. And it's not just a small number of them. There's an entire forum dedicated to this defect on the bluray.com website. The first one I bought was one of the defective copies. The replacement I got works fine. Please buy the film because it's awesome, just don't be surprised if you have to go through several copies to get one that works.

The story line is a look into the future of robotics. The story drags in spots, but recovers and moves on!!!!
