It's a lot like Fallout 3, but with enough "new"

I was immensely excited for Fallout 4. I preordered and everything. The game looks great, could be better, but it's still beautiful. Dialogue is basically the same style as the other Fallouts, just with the new system of choosing what you want to say. I've put just over 50 hours into the game and I can say that it is a lot like Fallout 3, but with just enough "new" in it the be tons of fun. It;s not a perfect game, but it's still fun to explore. Boston was a great choice in the setting, the storyline is pretty good, and gameplay isn't as chunky anymore. New Vegas had so much more innovation done to it that was not implemented into 4 which really sucks, because it would've added another layer to the game. With mods coming to consoles, the game will be improved upon seeing as I got the PS4 version. With new stories and whatnot. There are some hilarious little bugs through the game, but I haven't encountered anything remotely game breaking. Load screens are surprisingly fast and the radio stations are just as good as ever, especially with the new Classical station which plays Classical pieces like Bach, Beethoven, etc. The "hype" for Fallout 4 was huge, to say the least. and I think it lived up to expectations, but not beyond them. If you love Bethesda and the Fallout series, you'll love this game and spend days on end playing it, if you have never played Fallout before, don;t play this one first, Fallout 3 is a much better introductory game into this series.

Are you buying this game for endless gameplay, building your own settlements, action, and exploration? You've come to the right place! Fallout 4 has so much content in it, it's almost dangerous if you become too addicted. The graphics are nothing to wow over, however, the character creation is amazing. You can create any type of person from a beautiful dangerous woman to a lone-wolf rugged type of man, to an disturbing battered-looking human. Positives: Great gunplay (4 stars) Character Creation (5 stars) Customizing Power armor, weapons and body armor (5 stars) Interesting Story (3 stars) Building Your Settlements (4 stars) Exploration (5 stars) A dog companion (4 stars) Romance options (3 stars) Negatives: Long Loading times Glitches (Nothing game-breaking)

The most detailed Bethesda world to date

Fallout 4 is really good, and if you've enjoyed Bethesda games before you should enjoy this one. That said, if you haven't enjoyed Bethesda games before, this might not do anything to change your mind. But Fallout 4 has one of the most densely packed, detailed open world of any game I've ever played. There's some little thing to find almost everywhere, and feels more like a previously lived-in post-apocalyptic world than both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I've put in 40-50 hours now and have hardly touched the main story because the joy of just wandering the wasteland and clearing locations has kept me busy so far, and I'm nowhere near finished. If you want to buy one game that can keep you busy for months, Fallout 4 can do that.

Big fan of the game series. Already knew it was going to be great. This bundle in particular was special. I'm an adult gamer so i don't need crazy bells and whistles. I got a great game AND the season pass for $5 cheaper than buying it separately AND I got these crazy socks that I LOVE. Bethesda did this right with the socks, a functional bonus item, perfect. I wear them stricly on Leg Day at the gym when I'm doing Deadlifts.lol Now I get asked more questions than just 'How much do you lift?'

I miss the attribute system from 3 and NV and the social aspect/dialog is basically an RNG game. I've actually re-loaded a game, chose the same choice and got different results. Those are very, very small cons for me though as I really like Fallout 4. Crafting is a fun new addition and I like how they did the Power Suits. Decent content for the base game, and knowing Bethesda, the DLC should be pretty good as well. Have both the PC and PS4 versions and both run well with the usual minor bugs.

It's clear they had some issues getting the engine used for Fallout running on the PS4. A similarly speced PC handles the game considerably better, normally it's the other way around. However, it rarely effects gameplay, and without knowledge of the PC version, does not detract much. The biggest issue other than framerate is shadow draw distance. Gameplay wise, it's much more of the same, with tweaks removing some aspects that were annoying (Weapon Durability), and some aspects that added flavor (The simplified conversation system). The areas you explore have noticeably more detail to them versus Fallout New Vegas, and the Settlement System could be something really special with some player made mods. There is A TON of content in the game, if you want to explore every place, and collect every item it's likely going to take you hundreds of hours.

This is the way a game is supposed to be, this is a true open world with consequences to almost every action but it is handled in a way that it is not overwhelming. From the character creation to the leveling system everything is top notch. There are a few minor flaws such as occasional frame rate issues but that can be over looked

Best pre-release purchase on a video game

I normally don't jump the gun on pre-ordering video games, but with a Gamers Unlocked membership, I could not say no to a Bethesda RPG. The Fallout 4 Gold Edition comes with a pair of socks, which honestly feels cheap, but I certainly did not purchase the bundle for that. The season pass is well worth it, especially with the discount offered by the Gold bundle. The game itself is impressive. I love open-world games with numerous points of exploration and a long shelf life, which are what this game offers. And that is without including the DLCs. I have been playing this game nonstop due to a compulsive need to unlock all perks and explore every single location available.

The newest release from Bethesda games, Fallout 4 is fantastic. Though it is true it has some bugs Bethesda needs to patch, the amount of bugs I have experienced are only two. I have over 30 hours of game play, discovered over 200 locations and only finding two bugs or glitches is good in my book.

so far the best fallout to come out! it is so good i heard a guy is suing the company because his wife left him because he couldn't stop playing it lol but seriously if this is the first one you play it is ok...it has it's own story line and fills in the gaps for every player. A must buy!

I'm loving this game so far! There is so much to do that it can take over all of your free time (and some of your not-so-free time). There are some instances where weird bugs hinder the game, but I save the game somewhat often, so it hasn't been much of an issue for me.

First of all, AMAZING game. This is the first time I've been able to really get into a Bethesda game. I always found myself distracted in Fallout 3 and Skyrim. Anyway, this was a great deal. Saves you on the season pass. And the socks were a cool and unique bonus.

So far I have really enjoyed the game. It still feels like Fallout in some aspects, but the only thing missing is the ability to approach the game how you want to play like you could in previous entries. Bethesda's reasoning at this was to give the game a more post-apocalyptic survival of the fittest, kill or be killed game. I can understand this approach but even still there should have been some diplomatic opportunity to talk you way out of confrontation, but alas, it's not a possibility. Despite this, Fallout 4 still shines on it's own as very well thought out game. I can only begin to imagine what Bethesda has in store for us with the Season's Pass. I hope that it will expand or even continue on from where we leave off and carries forward with choices we have made in the game. I have yet to finish it however because of always getting side-tracked.

Fallout 4 is a great game in its own right. It has a huge and expansive world littered with things to do. You will be lost in the world of Fallout with things to do just overfilling your journal. However it is hindered with technical bugs and the game is not as modernized as other games. Animations are stiff, textures are sometimes blurry, and lip syncing is horrible for a game in 2015. Overall though this game has a pretty decent story with fun gameplay and a great world to explore.

Managing items and base-development feel like burdens, but exploring the world without aim is incredible fun. Improved combat from previous games, though still a bit rigid; VATS feels useless now. Story is interesting enough, but as with previous games it's the world at large that tells the most compelling narrative. Notoriously buggy, but in the twenty-four hours I've put in I only encountered one major bug where I'm unable to turn in a side quest.

If you are a Fallout/Bethesda fan you will not be disapointed. The story is my favorite of the FO series so far and I love the color scene and game play. After years without a FO game it is great to have a new one again.

It's as simple as this: if you loved Fallout 3/New Vegas then you'll love this one. It isn't just more Fallout (though honestly even just that would be great), it add some interesting mechanics and improves on the looting, shooting and crafting which were all kinda poor in previous iterations. The writing is better than 3, though not quite as endearingly wacky as New Vegas (though I'm only 20 hours in), but it's definitely compelling and occasionally funny. Also, If you've only played Elder Scrolls games, but love them, then you definitely should enjoy this game.Only thing that's really different (besides skill progression) is the setting, but I prefer Fallout's setting anyway.
