Good superhero film, but leaves a lot to be desired.

Wow, ok, I really expected to hate this movie, but it's actually not bad until... this horrible, horrible version of Doom shows up. Whoever was making this movie apparently got Dr. Doom and the Super-Skrull or the Super-Adaptoid confused, because the character in this movie is FAR closer to either of them than any version of Doom. Good effects, decent story, decent (for the most part) acting, HORRIBLE Doom. The sad part is I was loving his portrayal BEFORE he got his powers. And it's the negative zone. Call it what it is, not "planet zero". Apparently they thought it was a 50's drive-in film or something.

I mostly bought this movie to add to my extensive Marvel movie collection and I liked the steelbook. Just like other reviews say, this movie is cut up and rushed, and could've been a lot better. With that said, I still personally find it entertaining.

The reboot story was interesting and refreshing, not at all what I was expecting. The characters had more depth, but that's not a disparaging comment on the previous movies with Albany & Evans. This version showed the characters struggling not only as new super-powered individuals, but also transitioning from teenager to young adult. Hopefully movie goers will give a sequel the chance. This was just a new take on their origin story. I want to see where things go as they start their superhero careers. I gave it a three because I wanted to see more action. Plus, when recommending it to a friend I'd have to explain where their expectations should be. Don't expect an Avengers type movie, or even just one of their origin stories. Also, I believe the target audience veered more towards millenials.

I am a HUGE fan of the Fantastic Four. I know the reviews were not very good on this movie. It was in and out of the theaters quickly as well. I don't know why one of Marvel's Greatest teams does not do well in the theaters. The first 2 movies did not do that great either. This story and origin goes off the beaten path. And I watched this not expecting too much. But was surprised it was not a bad as I thought it would be. I am on the fence about this but I would still recommend this as a "watch it" if you are a fan of Marvel. It wasn't slow and kept you going throughout the movie.

I am a big fan of these types of movies, so I have to admit that my proclivity is to watch each new installment with high expectations. This version of fantastic four didn't meet my expectations. The effects were cool and the graphics were solid for the most part. The acting wasn't that great, especially as it relates to the main antagonist. The story was lacking in that it never connected me emotionally with the characters. That being said I wasn't sorry that I bought it - although I'm sure it won't be one of those movies that I pull out a couple times a year (like I do with the Avengers movies). My suggestion is to wait for it to go on sale for $9.99 or less.

Slow as characters seem stuck in some type of vague image ? The way they are transformed by other dimension seems stiff and too unreal. Jessica Alba movies begin with characters already in their roles

After years of hearing nothing but awful things about this reboot I stayed far away until my interest peaked again when I heard about marvel doing another reboot in a few years so I figured why the hell not and here we are and I’m happy to report I didn't find this to the abomination that so many people on the web make it out to be. In fact, I actually quite liked it

I enjoyed this film, but I also don’t normally care much for the Fantastic Four characters. It’s a unique take on the story and it’s not revolutionary by any means, but the effort is there and I liked the characters. It kept me interested, but it wasn’t so much a Fantastic 4 movie as it was just an engaging Science Fiction Film. The young actors were pretty good in this one. A good child actor is impressive and most of the acting was decent. I enjoyed it overall. Dry in places and bland in other places. Something was missing, but it’s not as bad as people said it was.

The Fantastic Four was one of my favorite comics as a kid and I think you have to stick pretty much to the original story , work on casting & characters and appeal to the 60 year old geeks ! Too much playing around with original characters and story to appeal to everyone doesn't work with all comic characters .This version is visually frightening yet well shot.. , story is a muddled mess!!

The majority of movies based on Marvel characters over the last several years have been generally great movies... sadly though, Fox who owns the rights to the Fantastic Four just can't seem to make a good movie based on these characters, a bit surprising considering how well they have done with the X Men and more recently, Deadpool. I will give credit in that The Thing and The Human Torch both looked the best they have ever looked up on a movie screen... the effects were decent thankfully. Unfortunately, there just wasn't much of a plot... there might still be a sequel but assuming one is made, they need to figure out something different.

Love the steelbook case on this! The movie however, eh it could have been better. Miles teller fan here, but not one of his best.

Another remake to the Fan 4. I like the characters they got for each hero and villain. This was a good movie with quick build up. But I think it went just a little to fast at the end with how they defeated DOOM. But for the most part it is worth getting, because they add a different view on how the Fan 4 got their powers. That alone is why i own this movie and recommend it.

As a fan of the series, regardless of actors, I had high expectations. I had heard rumblings that the movie had not done well at the box office and as I had missed seeing it in the big screen, I decided to buy the BlueRay version to get as closest to the sound and sights I would have experienced at the movie theaters. Unfortunately, the movie disappointed. I continued drawing comparisons to previous versions and regardless of quality of plot, there was very little chemistry between the current ensemble. Don't fully regret buying the movie, I just wished I would have gotten a better return on investment.

This movie is constantly trashed online by, well, everyone! I watched the movie and enjoyed it for what it was. I thought it was entertaining though it was far from the original concept of the Fantastic 4. I came in expecting it to be unwatchable so maybe it was my extremely low expectations being exceeded that made this movie better for me. I'm sad that this group won't have another movie together. I would have seen it!

I really enjoy watching superhero movies, but had not yet seen the new Fantastic 4 as it had received bad review. I ending up buying the move since it was on sale for $5 and I had a $5 credit from Best Buy. I would say it is a good, but not great move. I felt the movie took a little to long to develop how the characters received their super powers. Other than that I enjoyed watching the movie.

Heard so much about this movie, I just had to see it. I'm a serious comic book fan, and was disappointed by the buzz on this film. But I had to form my own opinion, and it was confirmed. Fanboys hate this film because it resembles the book in almost no way. Outside of the character's names there is virtually nothing familiar to the FF. That aside, I thought the movie was well made, and story interesting. I would recommend it to the uninitiated, and to my fellow fanboys, it's an inventive oddity-try not to laugh at the Thing's (Ben Grimm) lack of pants...

I saw this movie with an open mind and no expectations, and thought it was not as bad as a lot of reviews would leave you to think. It is a far cry from being a great film, but for a comic based movie, not horrible. My biggest complaint was, I don't think they cast this correctly versus the comic franchise. But the story line was good and kept me entertained throughout the entire movie. The steelbook is the icing on the cake!

Since I'm a sucker for any comic book story on screen, I did find this movie fun to watch and worth the night I dedicated to watching it. As a "quality film," however, it was just...meh. I did enjoy the spin on Sue and Johnny Storm's sibling relationship, and felt that was a fresh take. The acting was not the best I've ever seen, though Michael B. Jordan is always fun to watch. The special effects are pretty good, if a bit cheesy at times. Overall, the average joe could pretty much take it or leave it and be okay.

Alot of people really don't like this film and i can understand that when put up against other modern super hero flicks it falls a little short. I still think it's very entertaining with a cool twist on the origin story...more of a stranger things feel to it. The steel book is nice too, so was the price. Give it a shot!
