Fargo is an excellent movie. However, this Shout Select Blu-ray doesn't have any special features and I recommend avoiding it at all costs.

I hate to dog on another reviews opinion, but the guy who didn't like the movie because of "unfair" stereotypes needs to grow thicker skin. Should I hate "No Country for Old Men" because of the unfair stereotypes of my native West Texas?. Do all Texans live in trailers and marry their cousins? Of course not. C'mon, Fargo is a terrific film. The acting, cinematography, storyline and dark humor are excellent! The transfer to Blu-ray is superb. You won't be disappointed. Fargo is a true Coen brothers classic.

I took my old computers with over 30 years of photos I wanted Geek to transfer to a new computer i just bought from them. The next day I went in at my appointment time to pickup my new loaded computer. One little problem. They lost my old comouter with all my precious photos and challeged me on whether I actually dropped it off. I had no recourse so left the store very angry thinking i lost all my photos and my old computer. 1 hr later they called and said they found it where they said it wasnt before. Needless say, I WILL NEVER STEP ANOTHER FOOT IN A BEST BUY STORE. Unorganized, very unprofessioal, and extremely rude. Customers beware!

Fargo is a darkly comedic "true story", and almost right away we see the genius of the Coen brothers on full display. From the get-go, car dealer Jerry Lundergaard (William H. Macy) needs money, so he arranges to have his wife kidnapped, and then collect the ransom money. He hires two bumbling-but-dangerous crooks (Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare), but soon blood is shed on the white snow, and the straight-shootin', very pregnant Marge (Frances McDormand) decides to investigate. She won't stop til she's caught her man! Beautiful cinematography, great score, fabulous screenplay, and of course fantastic acting, especially from McDormand! A worthy addition to any collection, especially if you love the Coens!

I never get tired of this movie, the characters are so rich and interesting that I always get sucked back in whenever it's on. Definitely a dark comedy, but not so dark that it's not enjoyable or depressing. I could watch this movie 100 times and never get bored.

This is so fantastic, they even called it a true story just to get people out to see it. The greatest true story hoax there ever was. The Coen Brothers are genius.

As you would expect from the Coen Bros., Fargo is great movie. There is really nothing bad I can say about it, I have watched this movie many times, and its great with every go. Perfect pacing, great performances, razor sharp writing... just excellent.

This Coen Bros. Classic is billed as a true story--but isn't. I haven't seen this film in a whole, but I fell in love with it on my first viewing. What's important to mention here is that this Blu-ray was out together with an outdated master. It is expected that Fargo will be remastered this year for MGM's 90th anniversary. If you can't wait, then this disc will suffice.

Darkly comedic, brilliantly acted (especially by Frances McDormand) and beautifully shot by Roger Deakins. It's simply one of the best crime movies of the 90's, and it's great to see on blu ray.

Fargo is compelling, unique, and has just the right filming to make you feel like it's based on real life. The actors are perfect for the script while the story itself exploits new angles on kidnapping. A must see!

Classic dark comedy with some spectacular acting performances from William Macy & Frances McDormand amongst others..1996 film from the wacky Coen Brothers, highly recommended!

I really like this movie because of its many interesting characters. The setting is great, and I love how it plays a part in the movie. Everyone should see this movie.

Fargo has been my favorite movie for a long time. This remastered disc looks really sharp compared to the old one. Worth of an upgrade.

If you haven't seen this movie, you should. If you have seen it, you're probably going to watch it again, that's how good it is!

Fargo is on the darker side of comedy. This remastered blu-ray release is the way to watch it. Highly recommended.

I love Coen brother movies and this one didn't dissapoint. Having it remastered in BD is a plus.
