I bought this game due to my familiarity with the fate franchise and my experiences when playing Fate/EXTELLA LINK on PlayStation that I ended up quiet enjoying. The art style is neat and the hack n' slash gameplay is good enough to enjoy and have some fun with on the switch.

If you like hack and slash with a story, even if you aren't a fan of the Fate series, you will like this game. The characters are decently written and the combat is fun. It definitely has some challenging enemies so don't think you can button mash to win every fight. Combat is diverse with different stances and skills too change up the flow of battle. The story holds up given the series namesake. The main character is kinda bland but the rest of the cast make up for it. The only caveat is this: the switch cannot handle the game. This is a game you should get on another console because if you play this on the switch you are in for a bad time. Graphical issues, assets popping in and out, stuttering and framerate slowdowns in combat AND in towns. Not to mention input lag when there are many enemies on the screen. Save yourself the pain and get it on another console if you can.

Thought this was like Fate Extella where there was a barebones story and plays like Dynasty Warriors. This actually has a thought-out story and plays like an action RPG. Think Fate/Stay Night but in the Edo period. The combat is pretty simple with using a combination of normal and heavy attacks. You have five different sword styles to use but you start out with only two. It's not a mindless hack-and-slash since you have to put in some thought on how to attack some of the harder opponents especially against the servants.

Arrived fast, and so addicting I had to put it down lest I fail my exams. If you're a fan of the Fate franchise or samurai media in general it's a must-have. Just... don't open it if you have any important deadlines coming up.

It is alright, the gameplay feels dated and meh, you just walk past NPCs if you get too close. BestBuy is going down hill and I am reviewing for the chance to win $400

Good edition to the switch library. The story is a bit sluggish and underperforming due to the limitations of the switch. This more VN than an action game so great for readers and fans of the fate series.

Fun. Drags you in and doesn’t let you go. An excellent entry into the franchise. Grinding seamlessly integrated into quest progression, so it doesn’t feel like grinding.
