Great bang for buck and a very good upgrade from the kit lens on an a6000. The locked on 50mm plus cropped sensor 1.5x gives it a 75mm look to it. Tricky to get shots since you have to stand further away from subject but the sharpness for the price can’t be beat. I feel like this is almost a 85mm lens with the zoom I get, but like I said the picture that come out of this lens are crispy clear! The bokeh effect on this lens also looks amazing!!

I actually really like this lens for the price. It's a great beginner prime. Images are reasonably sharp and bokeh is good. I shoot on a Sony A6400 so there is a 1.5x crop from my APSC sensor but Images are still outstanding with this lens. However, focusing can be slow to find the subject. Another reason for the 4 stars is the lens has some green or purple color fringing in images. This isn't much of an issue because I can remove most in post. I still highly recommend this lens for beginners.

Excellent lens for a beginner. I love the aperture with the 1.8, it really makes the focal person stand out from its background.

I think it’s a great lens. I love photography and mainly do it as a hobby and these lenses are perfect for traveling and being on the go. It’s definitely worth it for its price point :)

This is the first lens I purchased for my Sony A7iii and it awesome. The price is great and its very versatile.

As other reviews point out, the autofocus speed (slow) and noise (loud) cannot be understated. If these things don't matter to you and you are looking for that nifty-fifty lens on a budget, don't hesitate. I bought this just to have the 50mm option in my kit, knowing I'll eventually upgrade. It's a great lens to use for starting out at this focal length.

I had the sony ZV-E10 with the kit lens and fir what it was, it wasnt bad. But i really really wanted a full frame body and just a lens for right now. So I got the Sony A7C with this lens because it was $200 cheaper than buying the Sony A7C with the kit lens. I’m wayyy more happy with this lens. It looks sooo good.

Very sharp results that don't cost an arm and leg! If you are looking for cheaper lenses, this is a must-have prime lens.

If you've done your research, you'll probably know that this lens comes with it's fair share of issues, mainly the autofocus. I decided to purchase this along side my A7 III as I am new to the Sony world. I think it works pretty well most of the time. It occasionally hunts, but nothing that is deal breaking. The pictures are considerably sharp, but there is some vignetting wide open. The wide aperture is very nice though. Note that it can be just a smidge noisy at times. Also not a deal breaker to me.

I love this lens for the price! The autofocus is pretty good and its all around good bang for your buck.

I bought this just before my trip to Washington DC and it worked out so well for me! Love that I can have. A bigger and smaller F stop. Gave me some really beautiful photos and can’t wait to use it more in the future!

Amazing lens for the price, crisp photos and video, only had one issue with focus breathing during videos but besides that amazing.

The optical performance of this lens is very good for the price. I own many Sony A-mount lenses which I have adapted for use on my A7 E mount body. The sensor in the camera performs admirably but the size of the adapted lenses have always seemed large. The great news about this lens is that it's size is much more in proportion to the camera body. The sharpness and bokeh of this lens is impressive. The other choices for 50mm range native E mount lenses are the $1500 Planar, the $1000 Sonnar and $950 Loxia. The performance may not be that of the Zeiss-badged offerings, I bet that the differences would only be noticeable at near-open apertures under great magnification. The only small negative about this lens is that it doesn't auto focus with the lightning quick speed my A-mount SSM lenses do. The update to the latest lens firmware and focusing at a wider aperture helped the auto focus speed noticeably. The 50mm F1.8 will not be beat for the price.

I am extremely surprised by the quality of the photograph. The focus is perfect for short distances.

So I'm new to the whole camera deal I was really into shooting with just my phone. So I decided to take my creativity to the next level grabbed a sony a7iii and a 50mm lens . It's all a huge learning curve but I'm loving every minute of it so far the 50mm for me is doing great I'll purchase more lenses when I'm comfortable with the camera and lens
