    Compact and powerful burr grinder

Well-built and compact with a small foot print, but yet powerful burr grinder. I own few coffee grinders, but nothing in this price range. I used to rely on commercial grinders at coffee stores for my weekly brewing needs. I did have the burnt taste when I used the commercial grinder at few coffee stores and I stopped using them and switched to owning few coffee grinders that costed in lower hundreds. I was disappointed by those, as they were very inconsistent in their grind. Ode brew grinder is specifically designed to meet the grind needs for coffee brewers such as Drip coffee makers, French press, etc. I buy expensive coffee beans that I use in my automatic espresso machine and the coffee brewer that I use to make to go coffee for my work/travel. I like the fresh coffee bean taste and flavor when using my coffee brewers to brew large portions and Ode offered consistent grind even with the lowest settings and this is key to encapsulate and retain coffee flavor without burning the ground coffee. Ode now replaced my old coffee grinder and offered several advantages over the ones I used in the past: namely, consisting grind, quite operation, auto off when the hopper is empty, no leftover beans in the hopper, and the little "fellow" tap on the side clears the remaining ground that's in the machine so you don't have to worry with the left over ground spilling all over your counter. Can't comment on the reliability on this machine as I only had it for a week and I had problem with my old low end coffee grinders that didn't last or degraded after a year of daily use. Overall I love this brew grinder, comes at a little bigger price tag, but is well worth for the features it offers, which a coffee connoisseur would well appreciate! It sure is a must have, if you splurge on high end coffee beans (and flavored coffee beans!) and love fresh ground coffee every morning! I wish it also had an option for espresso grind, given its high price tag.

This Grinder is the cat’s meow!

Fellow is a disrupter and their entry into café quality grinds is bar none. Pros: • Very modern and minimalistic • Consistent and precise grinds • All metal and magnetic cup catch is smart • Built in grinds knocker Cons: • Cost, but this is purely “what you pay is what you get” kind of grinder for aficionados I was in the market for a single dose precision grinder and the Fellow Ode fits the ticket. Coffee became one of my hobbies during the pandemic and started to develop a taste for what I was looking for. I was hand grinding my AeroPress with a Knock Aergrind and had wonderful results. While hand grinding 14g of beans doesn’t take long, grinding 56g of beans for a Chemex got daunting. This Fellow Ode makes short work and just as precise as the highly regarded Knock hand grinder. For my Chemex, I weigh out 56g of my favorite beans. Add it to the hopper of the Ode. Dial in my setting, I’m currently thinking 4-4.5 for a courser grind. No need to guess as the lid to the small hopper has suggestions for popular brew methods. Using the built-in knocker, I can get 99.9% of all the 56g of whole beans ground into the cup. Wait for my water to get to temp. Pour in my fresh grounds, add water and bloom, and finish with the volume I was looking for. Perfect coffee every time. Do note that you will need to do a trial and error with your grind settings. My 2.5 setting on my Knock hand grinder is more like a 4 on the Ode. Overall, the Fellow Ode surpasses my expectations and will please the utmost pickiest coffee aficionados. It’s super easy to use and I do recommend this grinder for any coffee lover who demands perfection in their home coffee brew game.

High Quality Compact Functional Coffee Grinder

Fellow Ode grinder functional design, quality, finish, grind adjustment features are top of line in the coffee grinders. Very impressed from the packaging to setup. Let’s look all the features with unboxing. Packaging of this product is top notch like a technology gadget packing. Opening the box, just a one heavy piece of grinder, cleaning brush and quick manual/guide in the box. Very quick setup. Design of the grinder is compact and takes very little space on my coffee bar. Have been using a machine which was loud, big and was taking lot of counter space and this one fit well and looks great on counter. Dial movement with dampened click and 11 settings and 31 steps in between for easy grind adjustment with precise particle size of coffee grounds for a tasting coffee. Addition of magnet at base is a brilliant idea for the catch cup to align perfectly every time. Also, the top lid of hopper has a picture to illustrate the dial movement guide. This machine is designed for single dose use and takes about 80 grams which is perfect size for my serving and for anyone who would like to grind different flavor every morning. Just load the coffee bean on the hopper and hit the on/off button. Another feature that is very useful is the auto stop function. It turns off once the last bean has been ground and shuts off automatically which is a bonus where you can concentrate on other tasks when grinding and not to worry about turning off. Noise level is low compared to my old machine and is surprising fast. Grinds are uniform and consistent which makes the coffee taste better compared to my other machine. Only caveat is it doesn’t grind very fine for my espresso but this machine is not meant for espresso grinding. Grind knocker is a great feature and doesn’t come with home use machines. It works well when knocker is used after few seconds and with multiple knocks to get the static. Static on the grinder is high for few days and suggest to add a drop of water when grinding to reduce static a bit. Overall, if you are coffee connoisseur and need a very compact, single dose machine with appealing modern design that doesn’t take much space on your counter then you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend for any perfect home brewing!

    Daily Grind

Right out of the box the Ode Electric Brew Grinder is good to go, everything is assembled. The grinder is well built and has a good weight to it, the design is very simply and can easily fit onto your counter top for daily use. The hopper on top is easily accessible you have a plastic top that also has a guide to the adjustment dial for a quick and easy reference. The dial adjusts from Fine for Aeropress to Course for Cold Brew. The cup magnetically aligns itself to catch the grinds, the knocker helps to get most of the grinds out. It's nice to measure out the grinds I would like to use, throw it in the hopper and the brew grinder stops automatically once all of the coffee beans have been ground. I prefer the uniform grind I get compared to the simple grinder I had before, and having this on my counter is great for quickly brewing fresh ground coffee each morning saving me from going and picking something up on the way to work out of convenience. Big fan of the Ode Electric Brew Grinder, simple enough my mom brew grounds for a pot of coffee this morning but also allows me to grind me coffee beans for my cold brew for the quick caffeine fix!

I love coffee. I drink it every morning, sometimes twice, and at times when I’m just trying to power through a late night of projects. I’ve own a fairly inexpensive grinder, but hate the mess involved after every use. Over time, this became more and more a pain, so I stopped using it. So, when I got the chance to try out a more premium offering by Fellow, I jumped at the chance to try grinding my own coffee at home again. The box is heavier than most accessories in this category, at about 12 pounds, and I was surprised with just how easy it was to unbox; feeling like an “Apple-esque” style of packaging, with the contents safely stored inside. Inside the box, you’ll find the grinder, a top lid, a catch (the cup that captures the grinded coffee, a soft bristle brush, a quick start guide, and a safety/maintenance manual. There isn’t really any assembly required, outside of removing the protective plastic on the catch and placing the lid on. The included brush is for cleaning out any excess coffee that’s been grinded. The turn dial makes selecting your desired grind simple, with an easy-to-read set of numbers, which can be referenced on the lid. The settings range from a 1 (fine) to 11 (coarse) and the recommended grind on the lid gives you a good starting point. Whether you’re brewing using a traditional coffee maker, AeroPress, or making a cold brew there is a setting for just about anyone. Since I primarily drink regular coffee, I opted to try the lowest setting for a coffee maker, at a “4” setting. The catch cup also sits on a magnetic base, which helps position the catch appropriate and keeps it from shifting during use. As noted in the safety manual, they don’t recommend using the “1” setting until you’ve grinded 10lbs of coffee. This is mostly to protect the internal components from jams or breakage, as the burrs are calibrated at 0 during manufacturing. For more info on this, I’d highly recommend reading the manual. Plugging the grinder in sounds a beep, which is the same beep you’ll hear when you push the power button. It’s not loud, just loud enough to hear while you’re using the grinder. One push of the power button, and the grinder immediately begins grinding for a few seconds, and then stops on its own. During my initial use, I just held the button down until it was done, and then released it to stop. The automatic option simply stops grinding after a few seconds, and never once (in my 5 times of use) has it jammed or stopped grinding before the bin was empty. The catch (the cup) has a simple rubber like lid, which helps to keep the grinding coffee from spilling over all over your counter. The grinder also has a simple to use grinder knocker, which helps release any left-over grinds before you remove the catch. I’d highly recommend using it, as this released quite a bit of grind left when it stopped. The catch has some metal fins, which help with keeping the grinds pouring cleanly into your coffee maker. The included brush can then be used to sweep up any left-over grinds when you remove the catch. So far, after a few days of use, I’m happy to report this is easy to use, easy to clean, and has yet to jam. It’s much quieter than my previous grinder or the commercial sized one we use at the office. Overall, I’d highly recommend this for anyone wanting more control over their grind, and who hate the mess of their cheap grinder (like mine).

I will forever rave about the design and matte black color. This is a very solid grinder that is screaming quality. Simple to use. With the ability to turn a knob to select your coffee grind, and 1 button to turn on with it automatically turning itself off, this grinder makes your morning task a breeze. My only peeve is once the grounds are taken out the machine tends to drop some extra grind. This is even after hitting the tab to clean out the interior. I do like that they include a brush to simply clean off the machine.

Perfect grind but can be messy

Unboxing this grinder you can easily feel the solid build and weightiness of it. It's actually a bit heavier than I expected, but considering what it does and how well it does it, that's a good thing. It's also one of the best looking grinders out there that looks good staying out on the counter. When it comes to grinding coffee beans, this really does a stand-up job. Even if you don't know much about coffee and having the proper grind, the dial chart (hidden nicely on the underside of the lid), tells you exactly what range on the dial you want, depending on the type of coffee you'll be brewing. Stay in the range and you'll get some great coffee. With just a few mornings of trial, you can easily dial it in to get the exact grind that suits you the best. With the dial set, it's then just a simple push of a button and it automatically grinds the beans and stops when it's complete. It really couldn't be easier. And it does it fast and without being insanely loud. The thing it does best though, is how it takes the beans, and grinds them all precisely as it deposits them into the cup. This ensures a consistent grind every time and throughout all the beans. The hopper that holds the beans is designed perfectly as well so that every single bean gets put through the grinder. One area where it falls a bit short is containing all the grounds. There's always a little bit that gets outside of the cup and on the lid. It does have a 'flicker' that you hit a few times that's supposed to knock any loose grinds out and into the cup, but for some reason it doesn't work as well when the cup is actually in place. Even though the cup is held magnetically in exactly the right spot. After hitting the 'flicker' several times, remove the cup and hit it just once more and a small amount falls out into a pile. Now it does come with a small brush that is perfect for the job of cleaning up the mess this grinder makes, but seeing as how critical it is for that task, it would have been nice if it had a spot to store it. Even just a simple plastic clip on the grinder would have been good. The big question with this grinder however, is if it's worth the high price. It's a question that I'm struggling to answer. Using this really does produce a better tasting cup of coffee. I tested this out by getting a bag of whole beans that were the exact same brand and roast as I normally get pre-ground. The freshly ground version using this grinder is a night and day difference and soooo much better than when using pre-ground beans. I don't exactly have the most discerning tastes, so that really says something. My wife however does, and her family owned a small coffee shop for over 20 years, so I always defer to her judgment with all things coffee, and she agrees that this makes coffee taste better than it ever has. Back to the question of if it's worth the high price. I hesitantly say yes, but only if you are a true coffee connoisseur. Another thing to keep in mind is this grinder isn't made for grinding big batches of beans. It's designed more to grind exactly what you need up to a pot of coffee at a time. That gives you a better cup of coffee each time anyway, but it's worth noting. Summing it all up, this grinder excels at producing a precise, consistent grind each and every time and doing exactly what it says it will do, while doing it somewhat quietly. Holding it back is the mess it leaves, lack of brush storage/holder, and the high price.

The Fellow Ode electric brew grinder is the perfect coffee grinder for everything from the individual cup brewer to a full pot of coffee. The craftsmanship, design and material used to create this is second to none with everything from its slimline, simple and aesthetically pleasing look to its finely tuned grinding capabilities. It is quite easy to set up as you simply plug it in, pour the amount of beans you want grinded into the top feeder, adjust the dial on the top to how fine you want the beans ground to and press the small button on the bottom. Voila, that’s it! You have perfectly ground coffee beans right in the included small metal container for whatever tickles your fancy. I prefer a French press with espresso beans for my coffee and the grinder not only made it easy and perfect to select the right grind but helped to create one of the best cups of coffee I have made in my own house. The grinder is discreet not only in size but also in sound as it is fairly quiet compared to other grinders I have used in the past. The magnetically aligned capturing cup makes it easy to avoid any spills from the ground beans. There is also a small grinds knocker on the side to use prior to pulling the cup away to make sure you capture every bit. I would recommend this to any coffee connoisseur like myself.

I’ve always been a coffee drinker; I joke around that my grandmother invented iced coffee. During the last couple of years, we’ve had extra time at home, so we started trying different ways of brewing coffee. We began brewing French Press, Cold Brew, and Iced Coffee, so we needed new ways of grinding our coffee beans to get a good brew. Enter in this great grinder. Unboxing this grinder, you can immediately feel the heft to it. After setting it up you can tell this is a well-built device. Everything is sturdy and even the little magnetic tray that keeps the cup in place to catch the coffee grinds is nice. The dial to choose the level of coarseness is sturdy and you can feel each level as it clicks into place. Going from beans to grinds is super easy and intuitive. You can use the cup to measure the amount of grinds you are going to need. You then open the hopper, which includes a recommendation chart on the underside of the lid to help you choose level of coarseness. Then you load up the hopper and close the lid. After you turn the dial to choose your grind level, you then press the power button. The grinder is relatively quiet and it stops on its own when there are no more beans in the hopper. Once it’s done, you can tap the little magnetic lever on the side to knock out any other left-over grinds in the hopper. The last thing left is to slide out the magnetic cup and get your grinds. This grinder is great. It really lets you dial in the kind of grinds you need, relatively quiet, and the build quality feels like this was made to last. Anyone who takes their coffee seriously would love to add this to their coffee toolbox. This is an easy recommendation if you enjoy grinding your own coffee and changing up the way you brew it.

    A gorgeous, niche grinder

I have really taken a liking to this coffee grinder. It is pricey, but it is one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee grinders I have ever seen, and it does its job right. This combination of factors has given it a permanent place on my kitchen counter where my coffee and espresso maker are. The directions the grinder come with are very useful and I recommend controlling your urge to start grinding coffee beans immediately and give it a readthrough first. There are some pretty key instructions in there that could affect the lifespan and warranty of the machine, an example being that you are not supposed to use the “1” grind setting for the first 10Ibs of beans as there are burrs on the blades that have to be polished off through use. Not doing this risks damage to the blades. A favorite feature of mine with this coffee grinder is the auto-turn off feature. I really like that I can load the hopper up with beans and start grinding without worry of the hopper running out and the blades free spinning in a cacophony of metal-on-metal horror. This grinder is not for the average grinder but is as versatile as it is gorgeous. The grounds are great that come out of this. My only couple knocks on the machine, is that the grinding still gets a little messy despite the design of the chute and the “knocker” built into the machine to knock loose grounds out of the grinder. Also, I wish the power cord was stowable or at least wasn’t so stiff, it detracts from the countertop appeal of the machine. Hope this review helps and I hope you enjoy your grinder as much as I am!

Summary: Just what I needed to complete my coffee bar! Using this for espresso-based drinks as well as drip coffee works like a charm! Unboxing / first impressions: There is not much in the box other than the unit, a cup with a lid, a cleaning brush, and instructions. The unit has some weight to it and feels high quality with high-end materials. I was impressed by the cover over the actual grinder as it is just big enough to fit beans into but too small to allow fingers or any other accidental objects to get in. Usage: The unit has settings from 1-11 which include from lowest to highest Prismo, cupping, AeroPress, Pour-Over, Electric Coffee Maker, French Press, and Cold Brew. I placed some beans into the grinder and started for an electric coffee maker. It worked very quickly and surprisingly quiet vs what I expected. The cup of grounds is about an American cup worth so you might need to do a few grinds to get what you need depending on how much you are brewing. What I thought was cool is the cup has a magnetic spot on the bottom to perfectly align it with the grinder, it was a nice touch. The quality of the coffee was outstanding with the fresh beans. I also tried it out with espresso to make a latte, the grinds were extremely fine as expected, and nothing was missed. There is little cleanup after use since the grinds are likely to spread around the area as you are cleaning the unit or pouring them into your coffee apparatus. I have nothing bad to say about this unit. Some might complain that it only grinds a small number of beans, but it is not that much of an issue to me since I just do it twice for my desired amount. Five out of five for me!

The Fellow coffee grinder is a thing of beauty! Compact, a smidge over 4" wide, 9" deep and 10" tall. Only one setting, a dial to set the type of grind (fine to course). How to know which one? Easy! Turn the lid over and and it has ranges based on how you make your coffee. Does coffee taste better when the beans are freshly ground with this grinder? Absolutely! The ability to select the type of grind makes all the difference. Hard core coffee drinkers asked me what I did different because the coffee was that good.

Game-changer for anyone looking for a super consistent grind. Even mediocre beans will taste pretty solid. Pricey it it looks fantastic on the counter also. Only drawback is that it's really messy - I grind for pour-over and I feel like no matter how well I clean, there's still grinds everywhere. Small price to pay for smoooooooth coffee.

I’ve seen a lot of negatives on this grinder but luckily I’ve seen none of these. This grinder has been consistent on its grind quality for me. Has really helped to improve my pour overs. The grinder itself is beautiful and simplistic in its design. I purchased this purely as a grinder for brew and pour over with no intention or expectation of espresso level grinding.

I have been looking for a grinder with a large burr set that is still somewhat reasonably priced. From what I can tell this is the only option in this price range. Makes grinding so much faster. Things that could be improved are a slightly larger hopper for single dosing. Also, oily beans tend to need coaxing to fall down to be ground. It is a messy grinder. Grounds do not always make it into the cup. This is rumored to be something they are going to fix. All in all very pleased even with the limitations and would absolutely buy again.

Works wonderfully using the full range of stops. Coffee grinds come out even every time, and its very quiet compared to other cheaper options. The more oily your coffee beans are, the gummier the burrs will get, and therefore you'll have to maintain it more often. Taking it apart for service is a bit of a chore but manageable for people that have a screwdriver, vacuum and some time.
