Great movie one of the best plays of its time & now another great Denzel movie. So much emotions displayed by great actors loved it! Viola again was the best also you must watch!

The movie was very good, acting was excellent. Color and sound was excellent. This movie is not for the younger viewers. I would highly recommend this film to all adults. Had a very good story line. Was slow at times, but very dramatic. It was also very intense.

This movie was very relatable to real life. Real life situations that let you know that it can happen to anyone but your strength can push you through the toughest of times.

This adaptation of August Wilson's work was really good! This film was even a little humorous in spots. Fences displays Denzel & Viola at their absolute best! A must see!

Moonlight may have won the Oscar for Best Picture but Fences was so much better. Denzel's performance was outstanding, well deserving of an Oscar. A film not to be missed.

The story and the acting are both great. I did notice one thing - the dialogue comes across as it would in a live play. Maybe they stuck 100% to August Wilson's script.

I am a fan of both Denzel Washington and Viola Davis and had to purchase this to add to my library. This is an excellent movie. I plan to watch it over and over.

Denzel is always fabulous and so is Viola Davis. They both deserved the Oscar. The film is quite down beat. The cover art with the two of them laughing and smiling is very misleading. If you are in the mood, it is a good watch. But once is enough.

This film was adapted from the wonderful playwright August Wilson. Denzel does an awesome job of acting and bringing the best out of Viola Davis as the director.

Beautiful adaptation of the play to film. Denzel and Viola displayed superb performances. Fences depicts the struggles of African Americans in the 1950s. Both actors really put their emotions in their roles and both should have won awards.

This is yet another example of why Denzel Washington continues to be one of America's finest actors and also an excellent director. Anchored by his strong performance and Viola Davis' Oscar-winning work this intense family drama is a must-see.
