Customers appreciate the fun and engaging gameplay, finding the job system and variety of classes to be enjoyable aspects of Final Fantasy Explorers. However, some feel the story is lacking and the game can become repetitive, particularly when playing solo. The game's difficulty may also be a factor for some players.

A breath of fresh air for Final Fantasy fans, Explorers has a bit of a Monster Hunter feel instead of the traditional Final Fantasy game. A great diversion!

Never played Monster Hunter, but I do love Final Fantasy so I gave it a shot. Not disappointed! Love it and I have sunk in a crazy amount of hours into it.

Game is awesome. Another great title from square enix. I give it a 4 stars because it's the same game as monster hunter. Only difference is you get final fantasy style customization. If you like monster hunter, you'll like this. If you're like me who hates it. Probably not.

I've been a Final Fantasy fan since the NES and SNES days, so I always look forward to any new game in the series. Having said that, not every release is a great one.
This game, however, is quite fun, and can only be played on the 3DS. It is often compared to the Monster Hunter series, and while it does share some similarities with MH, it does enough to set it apart so that it feels like its own game. Hunting familiar monsters from the FF universe is quite fun, and even more so with others. Definitely check out some videos online to see if it interests you, then jump in!

While the game lacks polish, the basic gameplay mechanics are solid and very reminiscent of the Monster Hunter franchise. Not much of a story, but there are a ton of Final Fantasy references that fans will enjoy. Fun game to play cooperatively online!

This has a classic free roam look to it with a new action RPG feel. It’s fun if you want a good RPG on the go.

This review is based off of a completed campaign and about 20 hours of playtime. I bought this game with the expectation it was going to be Final Fantasy and Monster Hunter combined together. While they share some things together in common, the execution is poor in that there isn't enough challenge or reason to go back and fight the eidolons repeatedly. New gear can only go so far, but even then, if you're good enough, you won't even need it. I'm pretty sure for one of the bosses, I pressed one button repeatedly and beat it with no problem. Only get this game of you're a huge Final Fantasy fan. Otherwise, pass or rent it.

FINAL FANTASY EXPLORERS FOR 3DS HAS GOOD COMBAT MECHANICS, BUT NOTHING GREAT TO OFFER FOR MYSELF. THE GAME HAS ALOT OF EXPLORING TO OFFER WITH ALOT OF CHOICE FOR JOBS ON MY CHARACTER, BUT LACKS IN OTHER AREAS ALSO.

When I first heard about this game it sounded like a real-time Final Fantasy that you could play with your friends. (It is, but it's a bit different from normal Final Fantasy games)
It had the job system which I love, and I loved the idea of going on adventures with friends!
When I got was a cheap Monster Hunter knock-off with a Final Fantasy mod.
There wasn't really a story (an afterthought, tacked-on lore and whatnot is there, but). The game just had thoughtless missions.
The game offered classic Final Fantasy characters as a selling-point, but actually they are just randomly acquired as limit-breaks for your character.
Also, if one of your friends has less of a life than you and more time to play the game, they'll get ahead and forever leave you behind, so you might find yourself playing catch-up a lot.
Or play by yourself, but that would make the game even worse.
The game is definitely meant to be played with others. However, I hate this game.
Waste of money, there's better games and even better Final Fantasy games.

I have Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and I could not get in to it and play it well because it was a bit difficult. The game doesn't tell you much about how to get from place to place, crafting materials or that sort of thing. FF Explorers did a great job of explaining everything and the game runs at a smoother pace. Crafting materials and creating monsters is easy to do and getting gold and such is simple. I love it!

I have played Final Fantasy games in the past. I have also played many other different types of RPG's. I like the balance that it strikes. It is a game that you can pass the time with.
