Really enjoyed playing this when it originally came out. The 4x speed manipulation is a huge help in the game.

Final Fantasy 12 was a favorite of mine on Playstation 2. The battle system was modeled to resemble their online entry Final Fantasy 11, except you have a single player managing all parties commands with preconfigured macros. Far different from turn-based, but a bit more interesting than the paradigms of Final Fantasy 13. The Zodiac Age brings a remaster FF11 to PS4. This is different from the FF12 on Ps2 released in the US in that this is the International edition, which brought updates to certain monsters and upgrades . So there is something new even for players of the original. A mature story involving politics that doesn't heavily focus on any one protagonist, this game is different from the norm, but provides a fresh experience that is worth a go.

Game play is challenging. The story is interesting, and the graphics are amazing! I am a huge FF fan.

This is the definitive version of FFXII. If you never played the original version, you should consider giving this one a try. However, in my opinion, $50 is a little expensive for this game which is why I gave 4 stars

The zodiac job system and clean remaster is enough to warrant a repurchase. The steelbook is icing.

If you played the original then this purchase is an easy sale. You get the added additions to the game that were only in the japanese versions on the original launch.

But I won't fight it. XII is my favorite Final Fantasy apart from Final Fantasy Tactics. What's advertised as being enhanced about the game is true to the experience. The visuals and audio are sharpened up and there's a new way to play introduced for those who need an excuse to play through it again. It is very reminiscent of the Odin Sphere remaster that came out a while back. I was pleased with that as well.

Getting back into the world of Ivalice has been awesome. The addition of the 2x or 4x speed enhances the game, as it no longer takes a lot of time to run across the map, or grind out a few levels. Additionally, I switched the game's audio to Japanese, as I could not stand the voice acting, and it really enhanced the story, which I didn't like that much back in 2006 with the english voice actiing.

Spent some time with FFXII back in the day? Give the remaster a go and fall into nostalgia, hard. The graphical upgrade is superb, and the addition of new systems means there's something new for most everyone (unless you imported the international edition from Japan for the PS2 back in the day; then it's just a shinier and prettier veneer, which is still worth the time).

This game is a must buy for all fans of the series and for those that missed this game 2 generations ago. Easily can sink in >100 hours of gameplay with story mode and all of the missions. This version is also based on the international version that was only officially released in Japan, and is different from the original english version that came out for the PS2.

This is a great remake to another RPG game from the PS2 era and if you missed it then on the PS2 then pick it up today. Real Time battles and Story is pretty good there are a few items in the game mechanic changed but it will not changed the enjoyment of the game.If you can't wait for FFVII Remake the get this game to past the time and it isn't episodic.

    It's a struggle to enjoy

I've played and beaten every 'non-mmo' Final Fantasy game to come out - except this one. When it originally came out on PS2 I lost interest in the first hour. This time I've managed to make it a bit further but am already finding myself struggling to care about the characters. I get it - they're not poorly written, the games not 'bad', but it's got this strange air of pointlessness to it. I feel unimportant, I feel like the main character contributes nothing. As I understand it many fans of the series even argue that the main character isn't really supposed to fill the role of a main character as much as he is supposed to provide you with a nobody with which to experience the story with. As far as the story... it doesn't feel like Fantasy. It feels like homework. Some political leaders did X and we don't like that so we did Y, and now nobody gets along anymore. This guy did this but was lying, this guy did that but it was all a trick. Here's a magic rock - we won't explain why it's special until much later. This character betrayed you, wait no he didn't. Again - it's not poorly written, but it's not something I can bring myself to care about. It doesn't have the same fantastic, majestic, feel that other FF games have. Even FF13, which is a disappointment in most regards, at least has a sense of wonder about it. Combat is also pretty dull, but what's worse is the difficulty varies wildly between a literal auto-pilot and 'I just died for no reason'. Luckily the game provides you with the ability to play it at 4x the normal speed so it makes it all a bit faster and more manageable. If you want a more 'serious' Final Fantasy with a focus on world building and intrigue then this is probably the one for you.

Best mix of Final Fantasy genres

This is the best Final Fantasy that only vaguely FEELS like a Final Fantasy game. The gameplay feels like a weird hybrid of a turn-based JRPG, but also an MMO. You really get used to it after a bit. If you played the original, you'll love this version. They fixed everything wrong with the original PS2 version.

This was a test purchase for the free release day delivery I get for the Gamers Club. This game looks stunning on a 4K HDR TV. The art style has held up nicely in the remaster and the gameplay changes to the license board is great. I like that they fixed the inverted horizontal axis, it is now optional.

I have played this game in PS2. The improvement of graphics, interface, and game play mechanics makes this game better over the PS2 counterpart. I personally think I would have enjoyed this game more if I have not played the PS2 release, but then again, I would have appreciated this game less.
