As an avid player of the Final Fantasy catalog, this new entry provides a wide open world of exploration from the beginning. There are countless hours ripe for exploration if you feel the need to take a break from plundering through the main quest. The combat system is one that is a clone from Kingdom Hearts that some will like and some won't, due to the feel of Final Fantasy and the pacing. The overall story makes the characters enjoyable and causes you to root for them and resolution of the plot. With about 100+ hours of side quests, dungeons, and special enemies to beat, this game is a very strong iteration and positive move in the next generation. Honestly a great play if you have the time.

I've not touched a Final Fantasy game since XII and I didn't never finished it. If you're a fan or just someone looking for a great JRPG look no further! One of the biggest things that has always turned me off from Japanese RPG's is turn based battles. FFXV finally did away with those and the combat it more akin to 2012's "Dragon's Dogma." Or any other action RPG. I had concerns this game might be another AAA flop (which we've had many of those in the past two years; I'm looking at you MGS5) But this game has completely taken over my life, I absolutely love it, the music, the boys, the hilarious one liners. You can tell they had fun making FFXV. It's light hearted, it's fun, it's addicting and it doesn't alienate people who may be new to the series or RPG's in general. Yet, it still has homages and hallmarks of the old games and does not water down the elements one would expect from a massive RPG, I'm currently 41 hours in and I'm only on Chapter 4 and Level 43! LOVE IT!
