The open world is huge with tons of things to do. Unfortunately, many of the side-quests are really boring and repetitive. The combat system is fun but the camera is awful and you constantly feel like you're fighting against it. Great characters though and decent story.

If you are a veteran of FF games, don't expect the same game as one in the series before.......and it's a good thing. Everything is still there from chocobos to oversized weapons, but it is a fresh take on a wonderful series. I recommend this game for people who have played the series to those who haven't. Great game!

Always have been a fan of Final Fantasy and XV is a great addition. The story is a little lacking but the fighting mechanic and the vast open world are awesome. I play on a PS4 Pro and the visuals are stunningly beautiful. It will be interesting to see how multiplayer works with the new "Comrades" expansion. This is a must buy for any Final Fantasy fan and anyone new to the series.

I have never really been a Final Fantasy fan until XV. I really do prefer the real-time combat as compared to the turn-based combat of previous games. There's plenty to do and explore in the huge open world and there is a compelling story with great characters.

ully real-time combat is the single biggest departure from the turn-based systems of the past, and while it doesn’t feel like the other main-line Final Fantasy games in any regard, the way it makes you and your three AI-controlled compatriots feel like a cohesive fighting unit kept it mostly enjoyable for me. Well-placed flanking strikes are rewarded with big damage and slickly animated team-up attacks, and commanding one of your buds to use one of their stylish-looking special attacks at just the right moment can be a literal blast. Especially here, the banter flies as they cheer each other on and pick one another up when they fall. They turn monster-slaying into family bonding time, and I love it.

I would probably buy this game over any other game as of now, gameplay is good, storyline is good. Battle system can take some time to get used and camera can be annoying when fighting HUGE monsters.

I've been a FF fan since the early 90's. To see a franchise moving into the modern era just as fresh and exciting as it was 25 years ago is proof of the love and care Square Enix has infused into their games! I thought it would be hard to switch to a more active fighting system but the fluidity and ease of delivering Warp-strikes, Blocks and Counters is truely gratifying! If you have a PS4 Pro like I do, the upscaling is very impressive and the SE team is still working on making it even more polished of an experience with higher frame rates in the upcoming patches. So, if you are an old fan like me or just looking to find a well rounded, modern RPG, pick up a copy of Final Fantasy XV!!!

The last FF i played was probably FFIX and picking this game up was super easy and after a short adjustment to the new combat style was up and running. The story is great and the character dynamics keeps you entertained. Bosses are hard but not throw your control away hard which is where i like it to be. My only complaint about this game is Prompto's photo skill, where the endlessly takes photos and everytime you try to get anywhere he asks to pull over and take a photo. Photos are absolutely useless aside from later viewing and provide no party or battle benefit. Overall, this game is great for anyone who has enjoyed an of the FF series and easy enough for new FF fans to start with

Reinvents the FF formula in a new, unique, and fun way while still feeling like FF at its core. Great battle system, great graphics, great lead characters, great open world....overall a great time.

For a game that took 10 years to make, they finally came back strong and made a Final Fantasy worth having the name. Amazing gameplay, brand new modern story feel and a completely open world.

FFXV is a quite polarizing game, but I found it to be quite an enjoyable experience. Despite some technical issues here and there (frame pacing on PS4), the game looks good, plays nice and is easy to get its hooks into you. A series of updates have improved the quality of life experience of the game over the past year and there are still more to come.

Been a huge fan of FF and this game doesnt let me down at all. The graphics are outstanding. I dont mind long drives as they give me the opporturnity to enjoy many wonderful views. Your teamates will guide you what to do instead of boring popup panels. The combat system is the most controversial here. I really miss the old school turn based style. For the new one, you will need to get a hang of it to enjoy the game. However, it offers amazing teamworks. Guess that's the only trade-off here. In-game conversations with your teamates are informative, natural and fun, not robotic. They really give me the true pleasure of adventuring when your friends wont stop whining.

I enjoyed the story, and the new battle system isn't bad as long as you are ok with change. Even though there is a ton of riding in the vehicle, the graphics don't really let you down.

although I miss the wait/turn system from earlier final fantasies, i am really enjoying this game and im still in chapter 1 :) couldn't get into the Lightning trilogy from PS3, so this is a good welcome-back game to me after being a fan to the franchise since the NES days

Final Fantasy XV is a great edition so far to the Final Fantasy series. I'm still playing the game and so far I'm liking the story. The graphics are great as well. Also the new battle system for the series is great. Very Kingdom Hearts when it comes to the battle system. I also like that the characters have to camp or rest somewhere to calculate the experience points. I also like the whole photo thing that one of the characters does. Which you can share does photos on social media. Personally I'm too old to be sharing those photos but it's cool for the younger generation. All in all very satisfied with this game... so far!

Not super far into the game as I went on a video game spending spree a few months ago and have added probably 30 games to my library. I tend to play games that provide hours worth of gameplay and this fits right into that. I've enjoyed every Final Fantasy entry to be honest and look forward to coming back and finishing the game.

So this isn't your typical Final Fantasy, and that's OK. I've been playing FF since FF7, and I've gone through earlier ones so I have a good grasp on the history. This is a very enjoyable game. It may not fit some fanboy expectation of what Final Fantasy should be, but that doesn't make it a bad game. Combat is fun and engaging, with surprising depth if you give it a chance. Roaming an open world feels fresh, and provides tons of things to do. If anything drags it down, it's a weak story for an FF game, and constantly injuring your own party with magic gets frustrating. If you go in expecting a pre-FF12 game, you're going to be let down. If you approach it with an open mind and understand what type of game it is then I'm sure you'll find it enjoyable.

The 15th installment of the Final Fantasy series is great fun. The overarching story may be nothing to shout from the roof tops about. It's not the end destination but the journey that will have you smiling. Hitting the open road with your lifelong friends. Helping people along the way. Destroying awe inspiring monsters. Then pitching the tent, preparing a great meal over the campfire & looking through your photos of that day's events. So much fun! Once you level up a bit you can see how your attacks combine with your party members. The combos are awesome. After some tinkering in the previous installments, Square has hit upon a superb battle system. If you are at all into rpg's, fantasy or just plain fun. I definitely recommend this one.

This game is a welcome change to the series. Even though I am not the oldest fan of the FF series, I was able to appreciate this game. I enjoyed the real-time combat as opposed to turn-based combat, and thought the voice acting was well-done. I did notice frame rate hitches during combat on my standard issue PS4 though.
