I bought this and two antennas in order to drop Dish. Local TV reception did not work with this. I had to hook the TVs up to the antenna directly and wasn't able to save on the recast making it no better than a fire stick.

It will be nice once I get the additional stuff needed to install it.

I’m astonished this did not have fire TV capability built in. The build quality is decent on par for amazon essentials fair enough. How to set it up and use was unexplained. With the box and required fire TV as two separate units I returned it.

My Fire TV Cast was junk right out of the box.It would not update firmware nor would it synchronize with other fire tv products. Amazon agree to warranty product but wants to send a Refurbished unit in place of the new one just purchased from Best Buy.If I paid new cost of the unit it should have been replaced with new or I should have been given a partial refund.

I boughtvthis to replace 2 of my 3 antennas. It allows you to hook up one antenna and then stream tbose channels to other tv hooked up to a fire tv stick. I received less channels using this with an existing antenna. The existing antenna received channels fine but when hooked to the recast box i didnt receive same channels. Tried to multiple locations and antennas to no avail.

I returned this. It doesn't do what I expected. You can only record what the box signal is able to pick up. Nothing from your fire stick.

Can't get it connected to my internet. I have tried numerous times but the connect to my internet fails. I had an appt w/ the geek squad. They couldn't help me. And Jelly w/ the more experienced Geeks is useless. If I could return this I would but from what a Best Buy employee told me it's out of the 15 day return window for electronics. If I had known that I wouldn't have purchased it.

I bought this record over the air broadcasting. I wanted to connect you to one television set. It turns out it can't be done. It's simply connects the over-the-air to your internet.

The recast is OK but you can only record over the air so if you live like why do you don’t get many channels not much good to you

The tech that you sent, had no idea about this piece of equipment. He never seen one before. So how can your program of charging money for the geek squad plan while you are not sending qualified technicians out on these calls. I suggest your whole company get into the business of educating your employees instead of slamming as many products as you can on the market. It really is shady.

I read what I could find about this device. It did not work with my television. I have a Panasonic plasma smart TV. I tried everything, including running an Ethernet cable from the device to my TV. Nothing worked. When I recorded a show, I could see it on my iPhone only. I did not read that the device could only be paired with Amazon products.

Not Great product for the money, would spend extra on more expensive ones

Didn’t like it. Poor picture quality and it was hard to use with the limited functionality of the remote. Returned and bought a TiVo.

Cut cable YEARS ago and was looking for a video recording option to replace my no longer functioning VCR. Between the sale price and using some rewards points, I was able to get this for @ $85 and was REALLY looking forward to using it after such an unbelievably great deal. I was SO disappointed and the non user-friendly feeling I ended up returning it anyway.

Did not cover streaming shows. Store assistant said it would.

What a let down - if the recast worked liked it is suppose to it would have been perfect for this cord cutter - would not delete, kept buffering, going off line and then would not record - sorry had to return

I can’t give a good review since I can’t use it the way it’s meant. For whatever reason, my Firetv’s bluetooth setting can’t find it. After the hectic Christmas season is over, I’ll go inside Best Buy and pick a geeks ear for advice.

Very unhappy with this purchase! Have been unable to set the item up to record my over the air programs. Personal at Best Buy are not knowledgeable at all with product. Been unable to down load over the channels to device!

This product is no longer supported by Amazon. The system requires a program guide. Since this is no longer consistently available the product is usless.
