I was looking for an additional DVR to supplement my Hauppauge USB tuner, I like the 2 tuners in the recast and the ability to watch on a Fire table, Android Table, or iPad. The problem is that you can record but you can easily remove the video file to save them. Plus in order to schedule out 14 days you need the Fire TV Stick. I wanted a device that would record directly to an MP4 H264 file so I didn't need to convert the TS file I was getting from my USB tuner. For now it will work, just adds to the device clutter.

I like it !!! It works pretty good even though my TV isn't near a window.

So far it has worked as expected. Like that I can watch any recording on any firestick.

cut cable and wanted easy to use device to record OTA programs. the storage ability may be too small for a family with lots of shows they want to record. I use it to randomly record a program if I am going to not be available to watch it live.

The dvr is good and integrates seamlessly with a fire stick, but the features aren’t up to my TiVo hd from 2010.

Glad we purchased this item. We had never been able to view shows we missed and now can watch them whenever its convenient for us.

I have the Fire TV stick 4K on all three of my TVs. Now I can pause, and record all over the air programming. Including scheduling as far as 2 weeks in advance with the free and easy to use program guide. Works very well.

Purchased this as alternative to cable setup. Allows us to record shows from free over the air networks as well as from our subscription services. We are still getting used to it and exploring how to best work it.

As I don’t have cable I just love this ! I also get more channels, not sure which are coming from this or from Amazon prime, but that and the ability to record shows again , priceless . I’m a retired female and it was so easy to set up. Best purchase ever.

I was skeptical, but this has met and exceeded my expectations. Very simple setup and the other services (Netflix, Prime, HBO, PlayStation Vue, Pluto, etc.) all work very seamlessly within the UI. I’ve permanently booted Dish!

If you have fire stick and dont have cable service because you stream everything like me, then this is the box you need. All the local channels come out on the fire stick and you can record anything and also watch live tv on your phone or laptop etc. This is awesome.

The TV recast is a good recording device for over the air programs, so that you can skip over the commercials when watching.

Very easy set up and works great. Easily connected to the Amazon Fire sticks installed on our 4 TVs throughout the house. We now get over the air local channels in HD quality streamed through the Recast. Successfully cut the cable cord!

Purchased this to record our favorite shows and get rid of our current satellite provider. Works great!

We cut the cord and dropped cable. We missed the local news and a few other network shows. The Fire TV Recast does a great job and has a nice channel guide to show the 30 or so over the air channels we get for free!

It's an efficient and good product, recording all the channels that are accessible with the Amazon Firestick. But, more than occasionally, things get locked up "i.e. the Recast won't respond to inputs from the remote and so one has to unplug the power to the Firestick and then reconnect the power to get everything working again.

Free OTA Channels in combination with Amazon Prime and Netfix is a great combination. Integrates perfectly with all my Fire TV's I own. My antenna is in the attic and I"m getting 34 free HD channels. I bought this on sale because the retail price is a bit too high.

The fire tv recast was simple to setup. It records our selected programs with no problems. It is everything it said it would be.

Love this product. It is a good replacement for my DVD recorder that stopped functioning. Like the functionality of being able to record two programs for the same time. Works perfectly with FireStick. Good price with discount.
