Had to exchange after my 4 tuner Tivo bit the dust. Not happy with only 2 tuners. Did not receive help I needed from customer support with understanding setup and operation. Had to purchase a fire stick to operate unit.

I've had this for almost two years now and it works great. We cut the cord a while back and it is nice to have our shows recorded without having to pay for different subscriptions

If you have cut the cord but still want local channels and a DVR then this is for you. If you already use Fire Tv sticks then this is the only real choice. Easy setup, and easy to use. Don’t forget you need an Antenna.

I love that I can watch my tv from try phone especially when I’m not home and not connected to my home network. Perfect for football Sunday’s away from home. Like most Amazon products, it’s easy to set up and use.

I'm using the Recast to record all the over the air TV shows I used to pay the cable company $70 a month for. I was also surprised to find out it interfaces with Philo and shows it's channels on the same channel guide.

I just replaced my HD homerun with this. With a good antenna the recast works great and integrates my local channels perfectly with the fire TV devices that I already had.

We cut the cord with cable tv and this made the transition perfect. We put the recast in a different room and stream it to both tvs. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to cut the cable tv cord.

The recast was easy to install. I have an older Samsung curved TV and it installed with the Antenna I bought in minutes. I love the set up and it works great. I can access all of my apps and recording from one menu.

Works as advertised. Eliminates the need to run cable for OTA TV. No subscription DVR. Makes sense if you do Prime.

I really enjoyed the DVR but returned it due to too much weather interruptions. Recordings were constantly messed up due to weather. So it boiled down to too much money for nothing. If I lived closer to network antennas I would've kept it. I have a powerful antenna but just live to far away. I'm roughly 70 miles away from nearest network and down in the woods. If you live closer I highly recommend it.

I am disappointed with the performance of this DVR. There are numerous software issues from both poor design and outright bugs. The recording of programs is pretty straight forward, but the unit lacks the options available in the DVRs I have used with cable. It only allows all or nothing recording of a program; there is no option to record only during a particular time slot, nor new episodes only, nor is is possible to limit the number of the shows retained. You will end up with a lot of extra episodes of a show rather than just recording the weekly new episode of the program. This is particularly a problem because one of the main software issues is related to deleting recorded programs. Deleting individual shows takes a long time and very often (more than not) fails. If you go up a level in the menu, you can delete ALL episodes of that particular show and that works most of the time. When something goes wrong, I have received a message to the affect "contact Amazon support if this problem persists" but it doesn't bother to tell you how to contact them. I don't think this product functions at a level worthy of the price point. One last thing to note; you need to have internet available at all times to this unit for it to function. If I were to design a DVR for people to record OTA shows, I would not design it to require the use of the internet. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but you can't really cut all the cords if you still need to pay some company for hardline internet (a cell phone hot spot is not an option). I use my Recast unit with an Amazon Firestick.

I was hesitant to cut the satellite/cable cords. I have had the best experience since using this and now im saving money every month. The key to this is positioning your HD antenna in the right spot and hook this up to it where ever your antenna position/room is. Since it works the tvs through your WiFi it doesn't have to be hooked directly to your tv. You do have to have a fire stick hooked to each tv to use this. I got it on sale so thats why i have rated high on the cost. Had i paid regular price i would only gave it a 4 on value

I have the recast 1GB and my sister has the same. My other sister wanted this 500GB recast so we waited till it went on sale. Good to have when you cut the cord. Highly recommend.

The Fire Recast works well. We have our OTA and OTT stations in one guide. On the other hand, we had to replace the Firestick 4K. I had spent over an hour on the phone with Amazon Tech Support before the representative recommended replacing the Firestick. Best Buy honored the replacement. And, we have had no issues with the new device.

Simple, no fee, but now and then locks up depending your location.

This is a great unit. First time cutting the cord. Just got to give it time.

Works really well if you enjoy fire stick/firetv… their guide is very nice. Easy to setup and use. This has quality tuners.

At a much lower price point than a TiVo, the FireTV Recast is a pretty good OTA DVR for the price. It works well with multiple TVs using FireTV streaming sticks as well.
