First and foremost Takahashi Miike is a fantastic director in his own right. If you haven't seen Ichi the Killer, go seek it out. This film seems to take a lot of stock from the school of Tarantino, and that's not a bad thing. Through this lens Miike presents a dynamic cast of characters all displayed on a derelict stage of underground schemes. Well worth your time and money.

Takashi Miike is a cinematic poet and it shows epically in First Love. This is one of my many favorite films from him and I’m so happy I can finally own it on a Blu-Ray and DVD! Those Gangsters pack a punch of style and dark humor under Miike’s direction.

The Japanese Chili pods are mildly hot, Dark reddish-brown, similar to the Chile de Arbol with a pointed tip, a wide body and are significantly flatter and have thicker skin. Japanese Chiles get their name from the Spanish word for Japanese. ... They are also known as Santaka, Hontaka, Chinese Chiles and Oriental chile.

Takashi miike is hands down top 3 of my favorite directors. He literally has a new movie constantly ready. He's basically Japan's Sam Jackson. Even in staple genres, like the Yakuza genre. He still finds ways to find new and exciting ways to showcase. First love is no exception.

Not the best movie I’ve seen from him. If you’re a fan of his work this goes back to the more over the top style of his older films. Not as good as Blade of the Immortal but still entertaining.

Violent and compelling a whole Lotta fun. Asian cinema is coming into its own they may copy Hollywood action genre but they totally know how to make it their own. This is definitely a fun ride.

In the style of Snatch or a Tarantino type movie First Love is a fun adventure. Seeing other cultures take on stories from their point of view makes this a fun movie night selection

I was surprised when I saw this at Best Buy. I didn't think a Japanese movie would sell well at a place like Best Buy. I enjoyed the movie.

Takashi Miike has made over 100 movies so by this point you should know what to expect. If you’re a fan of his, you will enjoy this movie. Funny, weird, violent. 10/10
