I had the Charge HR and the band gave me issues and I sent it back for exchanges twice. The Alta will not have that problem and you can change bands. I also like the new features that the Alta has verses my Charge HR. Great product with great online app.

Quick set up, long battery life--downside it app doesn't work with all phones

Bought this for my wife as a gift. She loves it. Always checking her steps and tinkering with it. I have noticed that it can take forever to sync/update with the app (android). That is about the only frustrating thing she has found with the device. She gets benefits through work for using a Fitbit. Bonus!

Another great product from Fitbit. I was a Charge HR user and the time had come to replace it. The Alta HR offers everything including a smaller footprint and incredible battery life. The app is as sleek as ever, but the support from Fitbit is unmatched.

This fitbit is great for being smaller than the other ones, which was exactly what I wanted. I didn't want something huge because I have small wrists, so this is perfect for me. It's light and doesn't get caught on my long sleeves. The only thing missing for me is that I liked the button on the side to push for the screen.

This is a great looking device that will make an awesome Christmas gift.

I love being able to see my steps for the day and checking my heart rate.

I adore my fitbit. It's really helped me to move! The only down side is when shopping with a cart it won't count the steps. Other than that's is awesome. I can track my sleep,water and heart. The mini goals are great. Really aids in keeping active.

I was looking for the slimmest Fitbit tracker but still with a heart rate monitor. I can still wear this along with my Galaxy s3 smartwatch and still not look like I have two trackers on. Basically the Alta looks like a slim wrist band.

I had the Fitbit Charge and it was simply falling apart... now with this new ALTA HR it feels stronger and much classier, I also loved the fact that I can change the straps whenever I feel like doing so.. awesome features, light and affordable

Look to other reviews for the basics. History: I previously owned the Charge HR and was pleased with the performance until it stopped working. I wanted something a bit less bulky because I wear watches on my other wrist so I checked this one out. It works great. I am missing the specific workout tracking feature a bit from the Charge HR. It was really nice to estimate my calorie burn specifically tied to my workout. The updated charge cable is nice. The previous cable always seemed to have a hard time keeping a solid connection. The reason it loses a star is because the tap feature doesnt work as smoothly as I would like it to. It seems like it needs to be in a certain position for it to take the command properly which is kind of a bummer. Overall, I would recommend this unit to users who want something sort-of low profile and want the HR tracking capability because the Fitbit interface and tracking environment is solid. I’m sure the next iteration of the ALTA will have workout tracking and I will buy that one too...

I had an older model and this is much improved. Light and comfortable.

Perfect upgrade for Charge 2 HR. Smaller design fits and looks better.
