Love that it has all the features without the size of the larger one. I've used it for about a month constantly and have no complaints at all. It only takes about an hour to fully charge so I do it when im in the car and otherwise its on my wrist pretty much constantly (note that this one isn't waterproof so take it off to shower or swim). Interfaces great with the app and with other programs like MapMyFitness

Good low cost tracker with HR

This FitBit Alta HR is a nice looking basic tracker. The two main functions are counting steps and measuring HR. It also shows time, as well as distance and calories, but the latter are calculated from your steps and HR based on some assumptions. It has to be charged; and the full charge lasts about a week. The HR appears quite accurate when not exercising. When exercising, I believe, the result is not as accurate. When I briskly walk, the shown HR seems too high. The regular band it comes with is of high quality durable material, but it is some sort of plastic. For me, it causes a little bit of itching if wearing it 24 hrs, so I switch it between the left and right arms once a day. I am thinking of replacing it with a leather band, although it's not cheap. For a better accuracy, it has to be weared a little higher on the wrist than the usual watch, so this may be a little incovenient if you wear long sleeves. This tracker gives you also a very useful info about your sleep (if you wear it at night). The information must be sync'ed to your phone (which is automatic) in order to see the detailed results and graphs. The phone app is easy to use and provides additional useful info. For a budget step tracker with basic functions and HR, it's a good choice.

I've been using this tracker for 2 full days now. So far it's been quite accurate tracking my steps and sleep. I love that this particular model tracks which stage of sleep you're in and for how long. The device was easy to set up and synch with my android app and the notifications are working well so far from my galaxy note 8. I do wish that this model was swim proof but decided to opt for a cheaper model over that one mode of functionality since I don't foresee myself using it as often as I would like.

Love my Alta HR. I can see how I've slept, my heart rate, steps and more. Keeps me on the move because there's a reminder buzz when I haven't done 250 steps/hr during the day.

I replaced my ALTA with the ALTA HR so I could track my heart rate. It is easy to use and gives me instant updates when working out or at rest. Being able to tell time, track steps, sleep, and heart rate, and to be notified of texts and calls on my cell phone make this a really effective piece of equipment for me.

Bought when my Up 3 quit, this is a step up from the jawbone. I love the continuous heart rate. It does a great job of tracking sleep. It is very intuitive, it can determine what activity I am doing.

This is the Fitbit I've been waiting to be manufactured: steps, auto sleep, alarms, phone/text notifications, HR, synchs to other Apps such as My Fitness Pal, 5 day battery life, and thinner, fashionable band options. Tip: you must move your arm when walking because pushing a grocery cart is not always recognized but I am really enjoying this fitbit and the options like hourly reminders to take 250 steps. Highly recommend!

Very lightweight, easy to use. My biggest surprise and delight is that the app has a tracker for sleep, weight, food calories, and water. Also, the challenges are alot of fun. I'm a data geek so this has been very effective for me, I lost 3 pounds so far. The food tracker I rely on heavily. Works just like an Apple Watch without all the apps. Works great on my iphone via bluetooth, just need the bluetooth on to sync the data so you can go without it on all day, the watch will transfer the info during the sync. Battery lasts for a week if you don't keep bluetooth on all day. Haven't had any issues yet, but I'm not a heavy user of it, so if you just want it for basic everyday use it's a good buy. Iprobably could have gone with a cheaper one without all the frills because I refer to the app more than the watch.

I had wanted a Fitbit for a long time and chose this model because it is a good size for my wrist and it gave me the heart rate along with the tracking of my walking in steps and miles. I couldn't be happier with my choice. It is convenient looking at it for time and the steps I've walked at any point in the day. It is a comfortable size and holds the battery charge very well. I love syncing it to the app and seeing the details on my iphone. Something I am really enjoying that I didn't think I would is the sleep tracking. It is surprisingly accurate and helpful in seeing just how well I am sleeping from night to night. I highly recommend this Fitbit. Ordering from Best Buy was perfect for my busy schedule. The price was good and delivery was fast.

This is an attractive-looking Fitbit, and it has all of the below and whistles as other trackers nowadays. It is definitely an upgrade from my Fitbit Flex, which only had a dot display. The Alta HR is comfortable and it is easy to read. I like the upgraded sleep functionality ovet the Flex. I do not think the resting heart rate is accurate, as it reads 20 pts higher than my normal rate. I also am not a fan of the charger, as I think the display should stay on for the duration of charging just so you can be sure it is charging. Overall a great purchase, though.

Pro-Excellent battery life. Small and light to use while running.. keeps track of HR and when it reaches peak/cardio range. On the cons -doesn’t measure floors, counts steps while cooking too.. not waterproof. Still happy with the purchase, for just tracking.

    Fitness tracker > Connected Watch

About a year ago after going through my fourth smart watch (I've had various brands), I got a luxury smart watch. The only downside to this watch is it doesn't measure heart rate. Now the luxury watch is a tank and has put up with abuse that would kill the other watches I've had, but it only works with Google Fit. Even though it doesn't have 100% everything I want in a watch, it's so durable, I won't get rid of it. So I went looking for a tracker to augment my watch. I use the Fitbit app and one other app that connects to Fitbit to gauge caloric inputs and outputs, and other health data. The Alta HR is the lowest priced entry tracker that measures heart rate by Fitbit. The one feature it doesn't have that its Charge 3 sister has is the altimeter to measure use of the stairs. But the Charge 3 is more watch than I wanted. I didn't mind the additional tracker on my arm and now my apps and my waistline are more in sync (no more migrating information by hand from Fitbit to Google Fit or visa versa). Typically they're not more than 5 to 7% different from each other for me in terms of steps. I turned off the call/text message notifications, the clock, and set all-day sync off, mainly because I don't need them. The display is a little clunky for notifications but does great at being a tracker. I charge my Alta HR at night for 20 or so minutes and I haven't seen it get lower than 75% since turning off the redundant functionality between the watch and the tracker. There are a ton of features the Alta HR has, but I was most concerned with heart rate measurement during exercise and sleep. If you want a tracker (maybe you're like me and have a luxury smart watch too) and don't need an altimeter, the Alta HR is a great value. It's helped me get my exercise routine in gear, eating habits balanced, and my body back in shape.

This is a replacement of my Fitbit Alta HR after I accidentally cracked mine. I bought the same item because I love it so much. It's smaller than many of the other trackers and I like that because I have a small wrist. It does everything I need it to do. It tracks my steps and heart rate and reminds me to move every hour. It syncs well with my Fitbit app on my iphone and it also syncs well with the My Fitness Pal app. I love that it syncs with phone and vibrates when I receive text messages or phone calls, and I can actually read the text message on the Fitbit if I look at it immediately, which is great when you are in a meeting and you receive a text. Another plus is that you can find many bands that work with it so you can always change it to match your outfit. I would definitely recommend this!

My wife uses this to track her movements during the day.It keeps track of her heartrate which is useful because she had a heart attack last year. The sleep tracker helps her understand her sleep patterns. Has good battery life. We have started using half the features yet but are very satisfied. The app givres useful data. We have not discovered any cons yet..

I tried a Charge. It was very nice, but this Alta HR is more comfortable by far. I can see my calls and texts. My heart rate, steps, calories and more are readily available. Being able to add foods and exercise and gather sleep data is very informative. This device has helped direct my decisions in a healthier direction. Thank you Fitbit!

This is the first Fitbit I have owned and used. I highly recommend this as it is very accurate with steps, calories and keeping up with heart and sleep patterns. I wear it daily and hardly take it off except to shower(although I have forgotten to take it off a few times)and charge it. Only takes a little time to charge about once a week.

I love the new Alta HR. I purchased it for my mother because she had asked for some type of fitness tracker. She has had some heart issues so I though an HR monitor as well as a tracker would be a good idea. I LOVE the fact that the bands can be so easily changed and readily obtained so that she can remain stylish as well as healthy!!

I am new to the whole fitness tracker scene and this is the first one I have ever purchased. I think my iPhone sorta counts steps, but I never use that app. For myself, the Fitbit Alta HR is just right. It fits well, has good battery life, and just plain works as expected. The associated app is easy to use and i really like the sleep analysis feature. The factory bands are so so, but some really nice and inexpensive bands can be found on Amazon. The unit is a little fussy when it comes to raising the arm to see the display and/or tapping to view various items. Does a nice job of reminding me to move. Overall it's a very nice device that helps me stay on track with some healthy habits.

I use these mainly to get overnight HR for training purposes. Unfortunately, the old model would turn on screen with a wrist flip and there was no way to turn it off which disturbed my sleep. New one can have that option turned off so now it does what i need with no distractions!
