With this Fitbit I am able to track my sleep, my motion/steps/exercise, and my calories. It’s fantastic to help with personal accountability. You can input your own exercise events (and get credit for the calories burned), search thousands of foods & name brands, and understand your heart rate daily. Great purchase!

I was debating between going all out with an Apple Watch or a Fitbit and I’m glad i chose this product. I just want the basics of my steps and heart rate and to track my sleep. This gives me what I need. The difference with the charge 3 is this has Spotify connectivity but honestly it’s garbage and you may as well just listen on your phone. But again if you just want the basics this is free at and connects well with Fitbit app.

Its a great watch overall and I love that I can swim and shower with it on. It also allows you to do challenges with friends or even random people. Only thing I miss is having a choice of watch faces. I haven't seen any that can be downloaded besides the 4-5 pre-installed. Other than that its a good activity tracker.

Fitbit Charger 4 does help he monitor my daily steps, heart rate and adds Zone Minutes. For beginners it should be a perfect fit into your lifestyle and Fitbit Charger 4 should be worn while sleeping because it will continue to track your heart rate.

I would change or add no other features to this Fitbit. I really love it! I love the features especially the sleep tracker. It tells you everything you need to or want to know about your night’s sleep. I find this particularly helpful as this is very important to me. This Fitbit also encourages you to set and reach goals.

I’ve been using Fitbit trackers since December 2014 and have racked up around 14,000 miles. I went from the Fitbit Zip to Fitbit One to Fitbit ionic. The Zip had the weak point of having to purchase batteries. The One was an improvement with recharging and measuring flights of stairs. While it lasted, the ionic did well, but had a fatal design flaw where it died just after going beyond warranty, so I went back to using Fitbit One. So far, the Charge 4 is doing great. I like the zone minutes and heart rate monitoring. It is much more compact than the ionic. It holds charge better than the ionic. I also got it in sale so it was only around $130 - much cheaper than an actual smart watch. I didn’t want to have an extension of my iPhone. That’s why I don’t want to spend $500 for an Apple Watch or even $300 for another Fitbit smart watch.

I had a Fitbit 3 for a long time and decided to give it to my daughter and upgrade to a 4. I wasn’t overly impressed with the new version. I teach group fitness and was looking forward to using Spotify on my watch versus having to go on stage to control the music (I like to move around the room). Unfortunately I can’t use Spotify and also track my exercise stats at the same time. It’s either one or the other. That was a bit disappointing. Otherwise it works well.

I got this to track steps but also to track exercise. For tracking steps it does great, about what my phone does but now I can leave the phone at home (gasp!) when I go for a walk. It also tracks exercise accurately but will miss the first 5 minutes or so if I let it passively "notice" I'm exercising, if I tell it I'm going to go for a bike ride or a hike it will get every step. This is pretty nice. The web app will show you the route you took and lots of details but the phone app doesn't - there's a place for improvement. Ditto the sleep monitor - this shows how long I am in deep sleep vs REM sleep vs awake (more than I thought) and total sleep. Again you can only see this info on the web app, not on the phone app. If you just use it to tell the time, read texts, and passively track what you do the battery lasts 4 days easily, you can stretch it out to 5 or 6 days if you don't check your texts with it. Overall it's a good investment for an entry level exerciser who wants to motivate to exercise more.

    Useless outdoors!

    Display

The screen is totally unreadable outdoors, even on a partly cloudy day. I bought this device for my running and cycling activities, so this major flaw renders the Charge 4 useless to me. It baffles me how Fitbit can sell a device with this design flaw. I have attached pictures to show how the Charge 4 appears when I'm in my garage compared to how it totally washes out when I step outside my garage. Did the engineers and design team think that people would be running and biking indoors!!??

I had bought this directly from Fitbit and got a defective item. Returned and bought from Best Buy. This one works as advertised. I am very pleased with the sleep function and relative oxygen (which is what I wanted). The step counter, stair counter and heart zones seem ok. The 250 steps/hr was annoying, and I couldn't customize it to fewer steps or just have it track all hours without telling me yo move. I had wanted to get the Apple 6, but once it launched, it seemed silly to buy it (I don't need the smartwatch functions or ekg) for 3x the price, plus a new iphone. The software still can't compare to Apple, but is good enough for the price.

Once I learned that all the Fitbits, if worn on your wrist, counted your arm movement and not your steps, I started waring my Fitbit on my ankle. When I bought my Fitbit Charge 4, which is my third Fitbit over the years, I learned that they only made two sizes of bands and discontinued the X-large. It is tight but I have managed to wear it on my ankle. I wear it all the time and try to hit my 10,000 steps five days a week and 100+ ounces of water daily. I am very happy with it.

I've been using this for a while. You wanna lose weight? Follow what it tells you to do to the T and log all your food and you WILL lose weight. You wanna track workouts? Make sure you enable "GLONASS" under GPS settings if you're going to use it without your phone, otherwise it takes forever to pair up with normal GPS. The battery is great and it does everything the new apple watch 6 tries to do for fitness, but better. However, if you want a smartwatch, look elsewhere. This is a fitness tracker. The only issue I have is the HR monitor just doesn't respond that fast if you're doing HIIT or sprint training. Otherwise, it's good.
