We upgraded from an older version, and this was definitely worth getting. Better control of the sealing, lets you get more space from the bags. Really is a nice upgrade

The Food Saver is great. Whenever I get home from the grocery, I use it to vacuum seal meats to store them in our chest freezer. No freezer burn and works exactly as advertised.

I purchased this after a number of years of considering a Food Saver system. I was recently divorced and trying to not let food go bad when only cooking for myself and my son became a problem. I purchased this so I could continue to buy the family pack of chicken breast and separate them into individual or 2 packs. I did not like freezer bags and wanted something that keeps out the freezer burn. These work great. Yes it is more work to take the package from the store and put into this, but everything looks great in my freezer and nothing has had freezer burn in the 2 months I have had it.

I love this Vacuum sealer, we researched for the best one for months, to make sure we wouldn't be wasting money. Kitts very easy to use and I live how it is designed to hold a roll, and it's always easy to see if your running low. I used this to package 120lbs of chicken.

It mostly works pretty well. The bag maker and sealer on the bottom works great and I love that part of it. the vacuum/sealing portion on the top isn't the greatest design...you have to make your bags long enough in order to be able to easily use the top part. however I just pull out a wire rack and place it in front of the unit to make it so I have a platform to put my bag on right in front of the vacuum port. This way I can make the bags as small as they need to be and still be able to properly use the vacuum sealer. not sure if I explained that right but whatevs... I mean it works fine if you're able to figure out what's wrong when it's bring problematic and make the necessary adjustments to account. Oh, also the accessory unit doesn't work great. It's quite finicky. Sometimes it just refuses to vacuum the air out of the containers. when you can get it to work it works great, but it either sometime doesn't seal properly to create a solid vacuum, or it won't engage the rubber one-way valve on the container lid and thus it runs forever and does not vacuum the air from the container. you just have to re-adjust the positioning of the attachment on the lid and eventually it'll go. or just press harder.

I have been wanting a food saver for several years now. I wish I would've bought one sooner. After only having it for about a month, it has already saved us money. It works on foods in both the refrigerator and freezer, and we are less apt to have to throw things out, now. It is very easy to use, and it looks nice on the counter. We keep it readily available so that it doesn't end up in the back of the cabinet unused.

I have used it a few times, it is easy to use and the food stays fresh and not freezer burnt. Would by for another family member.

The FM5200 operates great - vacuums and seals quickly, with little waste in bag usage. However, I feel that the design suffers with having to hold the bag so high up to insert it into the window. It's difficult to have several items, such as steaks or hamburgers, stay in single layer position when at such an angle. Lower machines have the advantage of the bag being supported by the countertop. This is my one disappointment with this model. I also recommend pre-freezing any items with heavy moisture to get the best sealing results. Bought it on sale, not sure i wouldl love so much at full retail.

This is our 2nd FoodSaver...it replaces a well used basic model that is appx 12-15 yrs old, which isn't dead mind you, just very tired and needing some tlc so we bought a new, upgraded model. Never even considered a brand other than FoodSaver as we used the old one a lot and it held up unbelievably well, so we are hoping this one stands up equally well (we'll add another star if so). The initial impression of the 5200 is very good (thus the 4 Stars)... the roll storage in the unit is awesome (coming from the old way with separate rolls, cutting, inserting to seal both ends, hoping it was cut perfect, etc) and the automatic sealing seems to work very well. I like that we still get to decide exactly how much bag we need. The hand sealer seems to work well...just did a test pass on a canister that we have from the first sealer (huge kudos for FoodSaver making it work with previous accessories!), but it worked as it should and retracted nicely in to the unit (vs having to find the hose, attach it, undo after,etc). We only have the initial use to go by, and will update with further experience, but so far we are very pleased...it seals as it should and the newer features are great.

Bought it and used it already couple of times. My wife likes it especially if I catch fish and we need to store it in the freezer this thing helps to keep the fish good for a long time as it sucks the whole air out. Recommend it

i bought this to start trying the new fad of food prepping and it has been a lot simpler than anticipated. prep meals for another date, toss in left overs or whatever you want to store for a period of time. throw it in the freezer until you need something quick other than that frozen pizza.

Best purchase ever!! We cut way down on food since we purchased this machine. Very easy to use and came with some sample bad to try. we use this for chips/ meat/ nuts, just about everything.

Thus is a great device! Bought it then sealed about 100 bucks in meat.. super easy to do and easy to follow instructions. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is it is difficult to clean out the inner tray .it is removable but when it vacuums the bag it sucks a small amount of juice..most of it goes into the tray which is great.

Works as advertised. A little loud, but no more so than other units. This replaced an older "seal-a-meal" and works much better. I have no regrets purchasing this product. It also works well with other brands of bags.

Great product with so many options and takes up less space than my older model! Only giving it a 4 star because the bag cutter and bag sealer should be switched...bag cutter on top and bag sealer on the bottom. Why? Because it's easier to seal when you can lay the bag on the counter vs. trying to hold it.

As a single person I needed a way to store and freeze smaller portions, while taking advantage of bulk prices... and this is it! Easy to use, works flawlessly and I have already noted a decline in freezer burn.

This thing is EXCELLENT. No more store bought freezer bags. I can just buy a roll and create custom bags. The hose is great for the bags with hole if I know there's something I'm going keep going in.

Love the Foodsaver vacuum sealer system. Great to buy food in bulk, break down in smaller portions to vacuum seal and freeze till later. No more freezer burn.
