I'm coming from a Samsung gear fit 2 and wanted a more watch-ier wearable. Still getting used to using Google fit as opposed to Samsung health. There aren't as many features in the native app. Seems the step count is significantly lower also but I may need to tighten the band. I like that I can make calls on the watch and use Google assistant. I wish it was a little smaller but all the gen 5s are 44mm.

    Best WatchOS Smartwatch yet

So far this is one of the easiest to use android Watch OS to use. bought this for my wife that is going from an iWatch Series 3 cellular to the Gen 5 Smartwatch. Does not have the bloatware that usually comes with the Samsung watches. Also the watch bands are more standard and very easy to replace with silicon and leather to match your style.

    Nice Smartwatch

I use this with my Samsung Note 20 and it works pretty well. I also use a Samsung watch and like to switch between the two. This Fossil watch is quick to receive notifications and has some great features. The battery isn't the greatest though. It will usually last a full day before I have to put it on the charger. The color is nice and I love the rhinestone face. If you want a basic watch that can monitor your heart rate, record your steps and workouts, and do some phone functions, then this is the perfect watch!

    Stylish, functional, unnecessary

I have been a fan of watches with extra functionality since I had a calculator watch in elementary school and one with a very inaccurate thermometer in high school, so smartwatches are right up my alley. I don't think that they are a necessary accessory for anyone, but if you choose to get one, I believe this Fossil should be on your list to check out. I use it daily, with little to no battery anxiety after charging each night, simplify checking notifications and getting quick information. I chose this particular model because I have always liked black watches with gold accents, and, aside from a clasp that is not foolproof and sometimes accidentally pressing the large main button just from everyday movement, I have no real complaints about the body. The software and functionality of the watch will be similar to any other watch running the latest version of Android/WearOS, which I find quite useful and customizable. It's easy to change watch faces, and almost every watch face can have different information added to it so that you can have weather, activity monitoring, calendar, and other info right on the main screen. You can also have more info available to swipe to simply, and in the order of your choosing. I have a large phone in a wallet case, so being able to get to simple information quickly saves me that little bit of hassle if opening it up. Battery life varies greatly based on how you choose to set it up and use it. There are low power modes with less functionality that can last for days, but I choose to turn on almost everything except phone call capability and "Ok Google" detection. With this setup, I go from around 8 am to 11 pm regularly with no battery concerns. If the battery does get low on longer days, the watch automatically switches to one of the low power modes to extend the battery. You can even switch to one that only displays the time, and only when you press it to wake it up. This is the mode that can last multiple days. The fitness tracking seems really nice, but I have no idea how accurate it is. Why not 5 stars? Little things. - The clasp is tough to close consistently without balancing it on something, and the first week or so it gave me false positives and then fell off quickly. - The new version of WearOS made Google Maps navigation notifications harder to read quickly, so it's not very useful as a replacement for a mounted phone. This was one of the biggest reasons I wanted modern smartwatches. - Fossil's app does not make it easy to select a simple watchface and put an image of your choosing as the background, as my Moto360 did. You have to link to your Instagram account, and then can only select photos you have posted. Why not just let me pick from any photo on my phone? - Proprietary charger means that I have to have the very specific cable to charge it. This seems to be most if not all smartwatches, but I would love a USB-C port on the watch itself for charging.

It was a great watch its just i own a samsung phone so it was tough trying to use only Google/Android based apps. The sound was kinda low. Also it could not be adjusted for left hand users. If you are a Google user then its perfect use for you.

This is an awesome watch! I'm able to get all my notifications from my phone to this watch. I can make calls, receive calls and same with texts! Pretty amazing! I'm a Google user so this watch is extremely convenient for me (you can even see your Nest notifications WITH picture!!!) Wow!! One thing I will say is that is consistently loses bluetooth signal and I'm having to mess with that, which can be irritating especially if I'm out & about. Also, the "ok Google" detection has not worked since I received the watch. It worked for 1 day and now... nothing. I'm hoping this gets fixed soon with the next update bc I really love having the Google assistant function on my devices.

I have had several smart watches and I wanted this one because I wanted one that didn't scream smartwatch. I love the shape of it, the band, and that you can change the faces. The battery does drain very quickly, unless you have it in smart battery mode, but to me that mode defeats the purpose of having a smartwatch in the first place. It does charge quickly though. I really wanted a smartwatch I could use as a sleep tracker. I have YET to figure out how to do that with this watch. The various app choices and how they work is confusing. There wasn't easy instructions that I could find to follow. I haven't given up on it yet, but definitely have found it frustrating to use.

The look is what got me! It's beautiful! It's my first smartwatch. Wasn't sure how to fix the fit. It was easy to connect to my phone. After 2 days I noticed I couldn't take calls anymore off of it. Thought it was just mine but my sister's did the same thing. Had had it for about 3 to 4 weeks and still can't figure how to take calls on it again. It's a good watch for me to see what messages or emails I have coming in, away from my phone or computer. It's easy to reply to other text that you receive then. But once you swipe the notification away you can't find it on your watch. It's an ok watch for me.

Looks good and works great, the only downside is the navigation of the apps and settings. Also the lack of watch "faces", I had to download a third party app to get new "faces" that fit my style.

Very stylish with decent internals, the watch is much faster than my old zenwatch 3 and just as eye catching. Admittedly the mesh band this model comes with (Julianna) is difficult to adjust for first time use and at times it felt like I was on the verge of breaking the mechanism. There is little to no lag with the internals even if they are already slightly outdated.

Bought as a gift but owned one myself that i ended up returning to fossil because the crown collected dust and stopped scrolling. Also, when you move your wrist it clicks the button. Can't believe fossil didn't think of that. Battery life is terrible even with everything off had to charge twice daily

My wife loves how this watch looks. It fits nice on her wrist however does still look a little bulky. This watch would be great if she didn't have to download another app to send me messages. We both had to download an app to send it receive messages to her watch (both IoS users)

Purchased for an iPhone and it doesn't work well with it. Of course this isn't an issue with Wear OS but IOS instead. However if you have an iPhone, this isn't the watch for you.
