This direct sequel to the classic slasher Friday the 13th is in many ways one of the better sequels. It has all the same ingrediants from the first but now Jason steps in as the killer and he shows no mercy at all, not even towards a cripple in a wheelchair.
It starts off several months after the events in the first film, but shortly after it fast-forwards five years (so now it's 1985, not '81?) And Jason apparently never died all those years ago (as seen in flash-backs in the original film), but lived in the forrest surrounding Crystal Lake. Another thing is that the camp he terrorizes is not Camp Crystal Lake but is on the same lake and is even shown briefly.
This Deluxe Edition was released in honor of the 2009 remake. It is full of special features and the price is also very good. To make your Friday the 13th collection complete you should also check out...
Friday the 13th Uncut Deluxe Editon, Friday the 13th part 3 3D Deluxe Edition, and His Name was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th.
Parents A strongly CAUTIONED, this contains material no appropriate for childern under 15 years of age (in my opinion).

Friday the 13th is the follow up to what was, at the time an unexpected hit. This film represents the franchise reaching it's stride being the first to feature Jason as the killer and continuing the habit of offering gruesome kills and suspense. The Blu Ray looks sharp which is saying a lot given the lost cost of these films. Highly recommended for horror fans.

Mrs. Voorhees is dead, and Camp Crystal Lake is shut down, but a camp next to the infamous place is stalked by an unknown assailant. Is it Mrs. Voorhees' son Jason, who did not really drown in the lake some 30 years before?

WRONG DIGITAL CODE

I’m sick of the lack of accountability with digital codes! This movie came with the digital code for Friday the 13th, NOT Friday the 13th Part 2. I’m extremely disappointed because I already have the first one on digital. Every time I’ve contacted any company about the digital codes I’m always turned away saying they can’t do anything about it either. DONT BUY
