I love my new freezer except if you don't shut the door tight your food will get freezer burn....Otherwise this is a must have if you are looking for a roomie place to keep your food frozen. I love it!!!

Expensive to repair

We've had this upright freezer for 2 years now. Over the summer I noticed water underneath the freezer and a sheet of ice inside the freezer. Over the last few weeks it has lost its suction and I was having to throw good food out since it had thawed. Finally called the repair man to find out that on these upright freezers with auto defrost the water lines can freeze which creates a buildup of ice that blocks the fans. He installed a heater on the line to prevent the freeze up....$225! I paid to have the repair since It was cheaper to repair then buy a new chest. Unfortunately with buying an upright there is no guarantee that it won't happen to the next guy.

Always had an extra freezer for outside. This one looks great and appears to work well. Have not had it long so we shall see. Plenty of space in door.

Was cold enough to put stuff in within 3 hours.

Just received my unit yesterday and it is doing well. Got cold within 3 hours so was able to get my food in there right away. Other unit broke and all my food was in my side by side. Just made it. Good thing. Also, has basket on bottom, which we really like.
Not so good: A lot of space is wasted as the 3 shelves have more than enough space between themselves. Could have had another shelf put in when designed or given option of adjustable shelves.

Works well. Good value for the price. The noise level is a bit louder than we expected.

Super nice smaller stand-up freezer

Works perfectly for our needs--the interior is open and lighted which allows you to easily organize your frozen foods, plus there is wonderful storage on the door. The interior has great visibility with no "black holes" where food can disappear. Despite the deceptively smaller size, it holds a lot.

Has a "Tamper Proof" Door requiring Certified Tech

This freezer has a "Tamper Proof" door which cannot be removed without a "special tool". We need the door off in order to bring it down to our basement. Frigidaire said they would have to send a "certified technician" and charge a service fee. Through research we found out it requires a tamper proof drill bit which can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes or probably any hardware store. Best Buy delivery people did not know this.

My freezer died 2 years later

My freezer worked pretty well for 2 years and 1 month. It then died. Parts cost more than a new freezer. So much for the days a short time ago, or for other brands, where there is a 5 year warranty. Now shopping for another brand to replace this. I will definitely consider a service plan this time around. Sadly, that shouldn't be necessary so soon.

Short life span! Waste of money!!!

We bought this freezer less than four years ago and it already stopped working! Huge waste of $$$$$! We caught it in time or we would have had an additional waste of $500 in once frozen food! And, I can't afford to replace it. So angry ATM!!! Grrrrr I will NEVER buy a Frigidaire product again!!!
