I had to buy 2 units, as the first one had a faulty wifi adapter and would not connect. Frigidaire helped me determine the problem very quickly and approved me for an exchange.
The top buttons of the unit are very easy to press, they take very little pressure to engage power turning on etc, in such, that when my cat lies down on top of the A/C to look out the windows, she ends up turning the unit on.
Frigidaire had never heard that complaint before, I asked them to add a cat owners feature to make a quick double tap of the power button the way to turn it on if enabled.. they are looking into that for me. In the meantime I have put a paper towel folded across the top to prevent my cat from operating the unit on her own.
The app is great, the scheduling function could use a little work. You can't edit the schedule directly, you have to clear the whole thing and setup a new schedule instead of editing a day or so.
We live in a small Manhattan apartment and I wanted a way for my wife to cool down the bedroom before she arrives home to go to sleep, so this unit is perfect for that. I would have preferred something smaller like 3000-5000 BTU but this is the only wifi enabled one on the market.
It's quiet and does it's job well, I went for the purchase of the frigidaire stand as well, so I can completely control the angle in which the A/C sits out the window. Lots of people complained about leaking A/Cs on this model, but one of the first things in the instruction booklet is about how you need to make sure it has a downward slant going outside so condensation doesn't collect and drip inside your room.
Airflow is UPWARD this is apparently more 'green' from what I read.
My 2nd unit is perfect, I would recommend this for anyone that wants to have the benefits of central air scheduling control but lives in an apartment.

The design is beautiful. It accentuates the room rather than stand out as an eye sore. I love that you can control it via wifi.... Your home can be cool after a long day out. If you like the latest technology, this is for you.

Cools great but lacks 'smart' features

The AC looks fantastic & works great as an AC unit, quiet , cools room down pretty quickly, but lacks features as a ‘smart’ appliance. Connecting the AC to the wifi network is cumbersome. The AC will only connect to a 2.4ghz network & the network name or password can’t have special characters or it won’t connect. The app is sluggish to operate, after making any changes it'll take some time to apply the changes or just time out (which happened frequently). A recent update seems to have alleviated some of the issues a bit.
The app lets you control the temperature, mode, fan speed, see filter status, & set a schedule but besides that it's pretty limited. There is no way to see energy consumption of any kinds, any history, or set multiple schedules per weekday, weekend, & night operation.
The ECO mode on the AC is broken because it takes inaccurate room temp reading after cycling on for too short a period of time (10 sec every 10-30mins). The AC shows room temp to actually drop after AC has turned off for an hour! In Eco mode, the room has drifted to 80F+ all the while the AC thinks the room is below set temp.
What I want to see in a future update:
1.) Have the ability to control the AC through a web browser (not just a mobile app).
2.) Be able to see energy consumption & savings stats (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, annually). I want to know when & how much energy the AC is using at which settings. How much do I save if I set the AC a few degrees higher, etc. Modlet seems to have some of these features, why not Frigidaire?
3.) Be able to set multiple operation schedules for each day or time period especially since the ECO mode is broken.
4.) Be able to set the cycling on time period in eco mode from 10 seconds to 1 minute so that it can get an accurate room temp reading.
5.) Be able to control the volume of the beeping sound on the AC as well as the display brightness.
6.) Be able to control the temperature drift range in ECO & Cool mode. Right now it looks like it is set +3 degrees in ECO mode.
7.) Maybe an android widget so I can quickly control the AC.
Overall, the smart features are disappointing but the AC functions great, it's quiet most of the time & cools room down pretty quickly. Is it worth the extra cost for the smart features, not really, but i like the ability to control the AC with my smart phone.

I searched the net for an AC unit that had a "smart" feature and came across this frigidaire. Of course I always have to buy from BEST BUY and the best part, they had it in stock at the store.
I just installed it yesterday, turned it on and immediately connected it to my wifi. I had installed the app and registered before so I was ready whenever I had it installed. The wifi part connected seamingly and easy and quick. I can control it with my iPhone and do everything I want it to do. This works perfect since I installed it on a custom hole I made on my wall above my window and controlling it manually would be hard otherwise(although it also comes with a remote). Aside from how easy it is to connect and work with the app, it looks stunning and nothing like all the typical old fashioned looking ACs out there.
The noise is like any other AC out there. On high it sounds as it should, putting in, high work. Low sounds a little quieter and probably the setting it should be once u have the desired temp. I like that it shuts off when temp set is reached and powers on when needed.very very Econ!!( that's the mode I use). Also the LED in fromt of the unit displaying mode, and temps is very cool and modern looking. It all just flows with its slick and high tech design!! If your looking for an AC, it's worth it to pay the little extra cash for the smart feature compared to similar BTU units without it!!

Frigid "Aire"

Decided to buy a new air conditioner a couple of weeks back. I was going to transfer the one from my room to my daughters room. since she is only here on ever other weekend. It is an old Haier ac. It worked fine, I wanted to find a new one with wifi capabilities so my room would be nice and cold when I would go to bed. I did research online and decided on the Frigidaire Model. Im glad I did! It puts out cold air, cools my room down, and I think its quiet. Plus the WIFI really puts it over the top. I had some issues with the WIFI app but I think the kinks have worked themselves out. I would've gave it a 5 star.

Very nice design and looks good in the window. Everything needed for installation in the box. One thing I liked is Frigidaire does a good job with packaging so it easy to break down for recycling. Took about 30 min to install. Seams for the install kit are not completely closed up around the unit (hairline gaps), so I got some white duct tape to help seal and still look good with the white motif. The unit cools my ~400 sq ft bedroom very well. I tried to set up the wireless, but it's really spotty. I have a Honeywell home thermostat with internet access and Honeywell clearly put in the time and effort to make a good app. Frigidaire did not. -1 Star from review for that. I just don't use the wireless access, not really needed anyway for my purposes.

Excellent A/C Window Unit

Great WiFi Window A/C Unit - which is the reason I purchased. Unboxing was easy and attaching the parts to fit in window is straight forward. I did have to restart the unit when connecting to WiFi because it timed out - so it took 2x times before it synched up. I have a 1,650SF home and the unit is located in my living room. I would say this cools most of my first floor of the house. I am looking forward to purchasing a second unit for the 2nd floor of the house. I really like the energy conservation and being able to turn on/ off when away from home. The front grill is magnetic to access the filter for maintenance/ cleanings is very nice. Very happy with this AC Unit and would recommend to friends/ family.

As an air conditioner, it gets the room cold quickly. It's aesthetically pleasing and if I have one gripe, it would be that it's louder than most units I've had. The smart function is a hit or miss but I'm sure it's something that can be fixed or improved with a software update. I'm definitely happy with the purchase.

This product is a little pricey than most 8000 BTU air conditioners but worth it.
The good:
Eco mode is amazing. It will turn itself on and off to regulate the temperature to whatever you set it at. Much better than other units that continuously run and will cycle in hot air if it gets too cold rather than just turn off.
2 I was concerned due to the vent pointing up it would not circulate air very well but it does circulate very well!
3. The app is convenient for remote control.....
4 sleek design
The bad:
1. when you turn it on it will ALWAYS turn on to Eco mode and ALWAYS at 72 degrees. Regardless of prior settings. It's factory set this way wth no possibility of changing.
2. The companion app to remotely control (turn on off schedule or Change temp) is awesome..... That is when it works. It's availability is very spotty. Even if I'm at home on the same wifi.

This thing is a charm. The wifi ability works well and even works on cellular data so you can turn it on or off if you need to remotely. The issue here is the app. Its a piece of garbage and needs constant resetting.otherwise this thing keeps my room very cool, lets you know when filter need changing which is handy, and ends up saving your butt from the hassle of not being able to remotley control your ac. The price however is a bit ridiculous but it is a very good product.

Bought this to cool off a small home office in the heat of the summer. It looks really nice and it was a breeze to install in the window. I was even able to install it myself.
First thing I did was crank down the temperature to 65 - it was 78 degrees that day in my office (my wife likes the house warm). I was surprised to see how fast the temperature readout on the front panel dropped. Within 10 minutes the readout showed the final temperature but it was not 65 degrees in my office. After leaving the unit running for a while the room did cool off.
The motor and fan are noisy. In the room where it lived, it made too much noise for a small home office and I needed to turn it off when I was on the phone. Ultimately I decided to return it due to noise and the amount of time it took to cool.

Installed this in a bedroom and really like the WiFi connectivity. It works well to cool the small 15X13 room down. My only complaint is the level of sound that comes out of it. It's quite loud. It might be better suited to a room that is larger.

Let me just say the air-conditioning works fine. It's efficient and cools the room. The user interface isn't that great and could use improvement. It took a few calls to Frigidaire to get it setup. Then it randomly turns on sometimes even though there is nothing scheduled in its system.

This unit works so much better than the one I have had for the last few years!! It was a very good price and it came lightning quick. Easy to follow instructions and they have thought of everything, weather stripping, remote, side panel insulation, screws locking brackets. This is a definite solid investment in the comfort of our bedroom for many years to come!! A++

Included remote transmitter insulating materials and hardware for installation complement the sleek appearance overall.
Top facing louvers are hidden from view improving overall look, but only blows air upwards, mostly either very right or mostly to the right , very inefficient for cooling other side of the room.
Pump and motor unit is very quiet, barely able to hear it engage and disengage vibration is minimal, certainly better than I've heard in any window a/c I've owned before.
Air coming out of vents is so loud I can hear it down stairs ,again compressor is nearly silent so it's not cheaply made but poor air flow design.
Remote is impossible to use at night
WiFi controls easy set up
App for Android easy set up(phone is now a remote remote controller)
Although it doesn't say it anywhere there are smart home feature with limited functions, so I can voice control with my Alexa echo dot which has a Frigidaire app, eg I can tell "Alexa to turn on bedroom A/C" from my living room, it definitely works.
Glad they did their digital homework, it is Tech for sure.
Esthetically pleasing acoustically annoying.

A real advancement in AC!

I got this after doing a search on air conditioners that I could control via an app. There weren't many to choose from so thankfully this one turned out to be a great purchase. While a bit more expensive than a typical, small room AC I think its well worth it for two reasons: the aesthetics of how the AC looks (this one looks like it was designed by Apple I think) and how well it would function with the app.
Despite some problems setting it up to connect to my wi-fi, an issue I think was specific to my router (as this AC hooked up fast and easy to my phones tethered internet on the first try) this ended up being a great purchase. It really cools my small room extremely well and I love the fact that you can schedule it via the app to turn on and off when you need it (or turn on remotely so when you arrive its nice and cool).
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a bit more of an advanced AC!

Great A/C, Bad App

This A/C works great for my bedroom, it is a little loud but that is the fault of the window not the A/C itself. The App needs to be fixed because it doesn't always work and they need to add a save feature so it remembers my preferences. other than that, this A/C is sleek, very modern, and definitely a step in the right direction.
