budget AC, you get what you pay for. Better than the unit is was replacing. Old one was louder.

Great AC for the money. Cool small to medium roor with no problem.

I would not purchase a fridadaire ac again. Not happy with the overall cooling of the room. Makes a funny noise. does not blow cold air. Just cool.

It is much quieter than my old air conditioner and I love the remote control. Can't beat the price !

This 6,000 BTU A/C is not working good at all . I keep it at 64-66 at night and still wake up in a puddle of sweat , wish I got the 8,000 instead. It is quiet though !

This A/C is for an extra bedroom that isn't used all the time, which means we haven't used the unit all that much, which means I can't comment on real durability. However, when we use it, it consistently cools a 270 square foot room with west-facing windows, and it does so fairly quickly and quietly. The thermostat seems reasonably well tuned, and it clicks on and off quietly during the night. The direction-adjustable fan is useful. I never thought I'd use the remote control, but have found it far handier than I expected. The A/C also has a fan-only option, which we've also used on occasion, although it's a bit less efficient than a standard window fan. The unit is light enough for me to move by myself. The only thing that caused us slight problems was getting it to sit correctly on the window -- it has to be tipped slightly back, and getting it balanced took a couple of tries. Also, it's the first window unit (admittedly, the other window units I've used have been on the ancient side) I've used that doesn't drain water through the bottom, so I had a surprise the first time I took it out of the window after using it for a time and dumped water on my carpet. To be clear, I don't think this is a problem with the product -- I understand it's supposed to evaporate without dripping, and we've had no problem with it leaking when it's installed. I'd buy another of the same model for a similar-sized room.

Good price but noisy and takes awhile to get cold.

It makes a lot of rattling noise. Seems like a cheap case . But it cools great.

Reasonable price and delivery fee. Vey noi sy, makes funny clicking sounds. Even with warranty I would have to schlep it back to the store. Then another installation fee and another delivery fee. I live on the 6th floor in a walk- up. No way I could get it back to the store. Get a meaningful warranty, not Best Buy's.

I ended up picking this AC due to it's features. Consumer Reports recommended getting a AC with a built in thermostat which this has (However I am unsure if this model per say is on their list per say as I don't have a subscription to them). I also like the remote that comes with it, it is a nice feature that I didn't expect. It also has timers, and sleep function that I don't really use. I usually have it in cool mode, which is the main mode when I am in my bed room, but then switch it to econ which is supposed to save electricity when I leave my apartment like to goto work. The only thing I wish it had was a fresh air vent, from my understanding this is on the 8000btu models and up have that. Installation was pretty straight forward, I followed the instructions that came with the unit... Well almost completely followed.... The window I put this AC into is metal and extremely bigger then what the AC is supposed to work with. The instructions (and the box) list how big or small of a window that this will work with, also the instructions list how to install it in wood or vinyl windows. I still was able to use some of parts for installing into those types of windows to work with my window. Since my window is metal, I could not drill those parts in like called for in the manual. I knew my windows was way to big for that. I had to get a wood board to fill the rest of the window and seal it in with foil tape. They provide enough materials to work with a normal sized window how ever, so if your not like me with a weird sized window (& blatantly ignoring the size specifications on the box and manual), you will be able to follow the instructions just fine and install it with all the provided stuff, like the foam insulation they provide and mounting brackets (had to get extra foam for my install because of my oversized window), etc I wanted a AC that would work in a small room (my bedroom) and it works great for that. I tend to keep the AC at 72 or up to 74 and it cools my small bedroom just great. The noise that it produces at these settings at least fairly silent for a AC, I have heard louder from other cheaper ACs. The sound it produces is not bad at all, I am able to sleep next to it working without a problem (my bed is right next to the window where it resides). Overall, I would say the instructions where clear and easy to follow, even though I followed them to a point, and had to do some extra stuff to make it work with my weird window. Features are pretty awesome (Thermostat, Remote, econ mode, etc), even though I wish it had a clean air vent. Also it works very well, cools my small bedroom quite nicely & packs some awesome features for the price. I couldn't recommend this AC highly enough if your looking to cool a small bedroom/room!!!
