    Ridiculously noisy

On my second of the same unit. I was hoping the grating grinding noise the unit made on all but the highest speed was an anomaly, but alas, this one does it too. TOO LOUD TO SLEEP! Seems to be the fan spitting water on the condenser at high speed, causing an aluminum clatter that is so rapid it sounds like grating. Tested the 2nd unit BEFORE installing and found that tilting the unit right or left made the noise stop. Installed the unit tilted to one side. The machine still grated for the first two hours while removing humidity from the room and then quieted down even on low speeds. The key seems to be to tilt it upon installation and then keep it running to avoid the room needing to be dehumidified again. Not sure I'm OK with that.

Clearly says there is one but the store told me that there is not. Mistake in writeup they say. I would have returned it but the store is so far away and I needed it immediately. However, the unit works well and everything else is as promiced.

The Keystone dehumidifier is very, very good at dehumidifiying a room. I even hasd mildew on a set of clothes in a hall way and it dried them up. After dehumidifying my room the floors were so dry they creaked. Excellent

Poorly built, missing screws, bent panels

I strongly encourage you to NOT buy this unit. It is very poorly built. The main metal channel which bears the load of the unit once in the window, was missing 6 of the 8 screws it was supposed to have. The holes weren't even drilled thru for the missing 6. One side is flimsy thin sheet metal and bulges out slightly from the rest of the unit. A bracket on one of the sliding side panels was bent. Also, this same sliding panel had an extrusion that was out of place. Thank god I found this before attempting to put it in the window, as it would have made it impossible to get the window all the way down on the air conditioner. I am a pretty handy guy with lots of experience with home repair, and it took me about two hours with hand tools and an electric drill, plus screws, washers, and a pop rivet to get this thing assembled properly. This doesn't include any time to put it in the window, which I haven't even attempted yet. I'll see if it even runs before I attempt to install it. I have that little confidence that it will operate correctly. Maybe I just got a "bad one," but I believe the quality control on this unit must be extremely poor to let one like this get out from the factory. I have total confidence that Best Buy would take it back, but it was less hassle for me to fix it than to load it up into the car and drive back there. Naturally, if it doesn't work, I will bring it back and I know Best Buy will do the right thing. This is the most poorly made appliance I have ever purchased.

Good price, but it is supposed to cool a 390 sq.ft. room. I installed in a 250 sq.ft. room. but @68 degree setting the room never gets cold and the compressor never shuts. Very dissapointed.

    Not a dehumidifier

Total misleading description of the item online listing this Frigidaire 8000 BTU as a 1.7 pint dehumidifier as well. Well, big surprise for me, which I was looking exactly of a window mount dehumidifier, to find out that it doesn't even have a lame "Dry" function like other units out there. Moreover, Frigidaire tech support said they do not manufacture a window mount AC with dehumidifying functionality. Way to go Best Buy (.com)! I've been watching this for a month and I'm disappointed that the mistake was up all this time and no one mentioned the misleading description of the item. I give it one star to warn people out, but it is probably (just) a good AC unit.

I replaced a 5000 btu with this one. This 8000 btu ac doesn't cool nearly as well.
