A powerful drama somewhat ruined by U.S. edit

This is about the catastrophic nuclear incident at Fukushima after the 2011 Japanese Tohoku earthquake which registered a 9.1... It is based on the nuclear power plant crew and the events that occurred that prevented a China Syndrome which would have irradiated a third of Japan, rendering it unlivable. This movie is a different cut from the Japanese domestic release. There are added American scenes (which were pretty superfluous and stupid) which distract from the overall flow of the movie. It just was not needed and was interrupting the story. It also necessitated some scenes to be cut from the original release which also removed some depth in the story. The movies defaults to a horrible English dub. It is best to watch the movie with the original Japanese audio track with the included English subtitles.

Good movie showing heroism & sacrifice of the 50 & their families. Not as good as Chernobyl becausd it didn't explain as much about what was going on & why. Movie played in English & is Region A so no worries if the Japanese language concerns you. Japan is Region A anyway on Blu-Ray discs & players.
