Great film by Stanley Kubrick. Movie looks fantastic on UHD Blu-ray.

Solid 4k transfer here. Slight layer of grain throughout. Some shots were a bit more focused than others, but that is mostly due to directors intent. The 4k PQ seems to improve as the film goes on. Im very happy with this transfer. Very smooth with all the scratches and tears patched up. I wouldnt demo this disc if im trying to show off my panel, but it does make the film look good.

Love Kubrick and I love this movie. Would’ve been better with a digital code but still happy I bought it!

Stanley Kubrick the master made this movie in 1987 and it will still rock your world…especially in 4K!

This 4K of Full Metal Jacket looks better to me than my blu-ray from 2011 (and that disc still looks good to me) and that's why you upgrade, right? The movie itself is not a pretty picture and it never will be, so in order to justify the upgrade you need a good reason and the best reason is it's a Stanley Kubrick movie. As a fan I'm more than willing to upgrade but did I get my moneys worth? I personally think so. This 4K is rich in details and bold color schemes and the black levels look so much better. I'm satisfied I made the right choice and upgraded. I can't tell if the included blu-ray is the same as the 2011 disc I already have. It doesn't matter anyway because I'll probably never watch it again. It will make a cool coaster I guess.

This movie was sad, empowering and action packed. It reminded me of my basic training days and the times conflicts we faced as young soldiers. Awesome movie and very well directed.

This was one of the first war movies I ever saw, and I still love it to this day. It sits front and center in the war movie section of my collection.

this is my opinion so don't get mad if you seen this and disagree with it. the whole bootcamp training with vincent donofrio is amazing! its chilling and scary, specially the ending for that first part. then after that the movie kinda goes down in entertainment. you just have a bunch of soldiers straight out of camp thinking theyre badasses and when it comes to confronting others they fear up and act tough. that has been done over and over. the shots are beautiful tho! the colors on screen really pop out overall it is a good product

A classic when it comes to a Kubric movie. Great visuals, doesnt pull any punches, story right in your face.

Great movie, one of Kubrick's best, never looked better

Great detail and color throughout the movie. Expect film grain and some intermittent softness considering this was shot on film over 30 years ago. HDR is not noticeable in the Parris Island scenes since there is not much that needs HDR. The only time it is noticeable is at the very end when Matthew Modine uses his flashlight when he gets fire watch duty. However, HDR is definitely an improvement for the scenes which take place in Vietnam. Most noticeable when fires and explosion occur. The sound quality is very good in terms of clarity of dialog and sound effects. There is some use of low frequency effects (when there is an explosion for example). There is no atmos which is a little disappointing. If you are fan of this movie, you should definitely have this in your collection.

Classic movie grusome entertaining 4k is awesome etc.

Great 4K transfer for an instant classic war movie. Audio is also improved when it comes to effects as well as how good the soundtrack of the movie is overall the movie sounds better on this 4K Blu-ray disc.

Amazing quality 4K Blu-ray. One of the best 4K films I own, I love the aspect ratio as it is full screen, and the audio is just as great as the 4K image. I would highly recommend purchasing it for the collection!

If you are a Marine and haven't seen or at least heard about this... you must be a fictional Marine and not know a dam thing about the value of good box of crayons and a dirty window. Fix yourself!
