Great price for a 6TB drive. It's formatted and made for Mac users (although it can be re-formatted for Windows as well). Of course it's only been a month or so, but so far on my Mac, it's working just as expected with no problems whatsoever as a backup TimeMachine. Piece of cake to set up. I've read a few negatives about this drive but haven't experienced anything. Hope it continues this way. Bottom line: at this point in time would highly recommend.

Drive works out of the box with Apple. No formatting is needed. Only complaints of head noise in this drive are unwarranted, as all large format disc drives will make some minor noise. I know because I have other brands and they all can be heard, but it is not bothersome. Its a very well made, reliable drive.

Reliable drive so far. Makes a bit of an occasional whirring noise when it reads or writes, but other than that, its speed is pretty good. Solidly made.

So far works great. It was easy to set up to my Windows desktop, and it runs games on it just fine. For someone who is a casual gamer it's great. I noticed a minutely slower startup time but likely wouldn't even have noticed had I not been specifically looking for it. Definitely worth the money if you're looking for a decently priced external hard drive.

This is my second G drive and I’m using it as a back up for my first one. Speed is what I was looking for in order to transfer images with in an acceptable time. The build is solid and I feel confident to store my files on it. I would have purchased the thunderbolt version but I felt I can save the money with the usb 3 version as I’m not that demanding right now. Bestbuy had the best price at the time of purchase.

The price per TB is a good value with these drives. Performs well. If you don't want the formatting software (for PC) you might want to erase and reconfigure the drive. IT is also quiet.

quite appealing design and easy to use. Fast reading and writing. The little light in the front is annoying. I wish the drive would power on and off as you turn on your computer.

great drive - would buy again - but expensive. Use these for professional use. G-Drive enclosures use the best chipsets PERIOD. Great backup drives.

This is the most solid and well built external HHD that I have purchased. Easy setup and excellent performance for an external USB 3.0 hard-drive.

For HD video files this has speed to work with and lots of storage space.

This drive is solid as a rock. It is fast and strong response when supply data for 3re party Applications like Itune Storage and Videos. Totally satisfied will be buying the 10TB soon cant go wrong with this Brand!!

Love the G drive six a d quality! Can’t say enough about this fast HDD. The are not cheap but the build quality is awesome... it’s like owning a rare expensive vehicle.

I had a 4TB but it was a 5400 rpm drive and when I used ir for work, it would have severe lag. This one handles the work without the lag. It has been awesome.

My main hard drive used for editing. It was hard to find an external HDD with 7200 speeds. This does the trick.

This is a fast efficient drive even for HD video storage. Works perfect and looks great

I ordered this large premium 6 TB G-drive for my wife’s MacBook Pro laptop (as the storage space that came with the laptop was only 512 GB). What impressed me about this was its premium appearance and its small form factor, relative to how much space it has! It worked well with the MacBook Pro, with fairly high data transfer rate. It’s a bit pricey though, though if you are already spending $$ for MacBook, this would be a nice complement!

These work great with Macs! Love how they can be natively formatted so that my Carbonite cloud backup subscription can include their files.

Great drive. Use it for video editing. Fast enough drive to edit 4k. Good price.

Bought this for my daughter in college, she is very happy with the backup security it gives her.
