I've been waiting for a while to see this movie on Blue ray but very cheap when it comes to buying movies for top dollar. I purchased this dvd for less than $15.00 and it's a good movie. I gave it 4 stars because the only movies I give 5 stars are Marvel movies.

Thought it was great movie and like gangster movie old and new. Acting was good and cast was right on reminded me of old time black and white gangster movie from the 20's or 30'. With it being on blue ray was even better. A must have if u like gangster movies.

This was a good movie. It had a great cast. The storyline was about a group of lawmen coming together to fight the head of a mob, Sean Penn. Penn carries a lot of weight in town owning police and government. Its up to this group to take him down.

I thought this was going to be a typical cop type show.I was surprised at how entertaining it was. Better than I expected. If you have not see Gangster Squad, you really need to check it out. You will not be disappointed.

Not a big fan of Sean Penn, however I believe his effort in this film is strong. Great casting elsewhere.

Both discs played on my devices. No issues with the digital download. Move itself is what you'd expect to see if you've seen the previous two installments of the Expendables series. Lots of action, and fighting scenes

Enjoyed the rendition of L.A. in the late 1940's. Josh Brolin & Ryan Gosling were fantastic as two detectives ordered to bring down Mickey Cohen, played by Sean Penn. Kudo's also to Emma Stone as the sultry Grace Faraday.

I had been wanting to see this movie for a long a time, but never got around to it until seeing it in the store and having some store credit on hand. Sadly as with many movies, the preview was so much better. It was a good overall plot, with great actors, and great acting. What throws it off, though, ironically, are the fight scenes (shoot-outs, chases, and the occasional fist-fights) which were clumsy, awkward, and cheesy. I'll ignore unrealistic, because that usually adds to the quality of fight scenes. There was just very little style in them, but since it's based on a true story, maybe that's the point. I'm still not sad to own it, though.

If you like vigilante justice, this is the movie for you. Based on a true story, this film keeps you on the edge of your seat. A well produced thriller.

Went into the movie with fairly limited expectations because few movies in the 'gangster' genre are appealing in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised by the film, and it turned out better than expected.

I purchased this movie after renting it with Redbox. I actually thought that I was taking a chance and getting a bad movie but I was pleasantly surprised. The entire movie was wonderful, my only regret was not buying it sooner.

I generally like gangster movies, but I love watching most anything with Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling; both grade A actors. Josh Brolin, too. Liked the storyline and the cinematography was excellent!

This movie has violence and is about a cop forming an undercover squad to take down a well established gangster. There are some well known actors in this movie. I recommend it, if this is your type of movie.

Bought this to make my total purchase to the $25 gift card. Not a bad movie at all considering the discount price. Good actors and good plot.

This was a great movie to sit back & watch in my Man cave. Plenty of action gun fire etc, I plan on watching again with the volume up! A story about the elimination of the Gangsters in L.A. .

I have always been a fan of older style gangster movies and this one has been a favorite of mine. Sure it doesn't have the mafia style flare such as Goodfellas, but it is still a must see in my book.

Good film. Saw it a long time ago and liked it so when I found d it in the discount bin I decided to add it to my collection.

The movie plays more like a violent comic book, in what could have been a interesting story of the ruthless Mickey Cohen. The Blu-ray/DVD set does have excellent video and audio quality

First off it should be stated that I am a huge fan of crime and gangster films. LOL. That said, I would recommend this film highly, No up ther with Goodfellas, etc, but really good. Very good acting.

Great movie at a great price! Best buy has great prices on the Blue Ray's. I prefer to buy all my movies from Best Buy because of the reasonable prices and the reward points offered.
