The Garmin Dash Cam offers reliable video quality, compact design, and easy setup. Its voice control and automatic incident detection add convenience and safety. Cloud storage via the Garmin Drive app is a bonus, though it can be finicky at times. Overall, it’s a solid, user-friendly option for drivers seeking dependable dash cam performance in a discreet package.

I’m happy so far with the Garmin Mini 2 Dash Cam. I’ve had it for a month and used on a 2000-mile round trip to Florida in August, with no overheating issues. It was easy to set up with my Android and I started using it right away. The app is easy to use and video quality is good. I’ve read where some have had problems disconnecting it from the ball-and-socket window holder, but mine easily snaps on and off. It doesn’t come with a micro-SD card, so I added a Samsung 256 GB that was on sale, which has provided over 30 hours recording. I also added a Polarized Filter which improves video quality in direct sunlight. I currently have just a basic setup, mounted behind the rear-view mirror and using the 12V socket for power. I plan to upgrade to the Constant Power Cable which provides Parking Guard, a great feature to have. Overall, I have found the Mini 2 to be a good dash cam for the money. It’s fine if you want to document what happened during an accident. However, it doesn’t provide very clear detail for license plates unless you are very near them, so if you are concerned about hit-and-run incidents, I would get a camera with 4K.

The size of this unit is ideal. Nothing to block your view, it fits discreetly behind the mirror. The video segments are very good quality and the setup was quite easy. In all, I have four. One for each vehicle, motorcycle, etc. It has two cords; one shorter for cigarette plug use and a long one for running the wire to your fuses. I use the short one with a separate suction mount for motorcycle use so I can remove it easily and take it with. There are aftermarket cords for plugging into your powered rear view mirror (some models) and I use this on two applications.

This is a great and stealth little camera. I'm a 72 year old female and I was able to easy install it by using the Dongar adapter. You can barely see it on the windshield. The videos are good quality and Customer Service is amazing. My only complaint is you can't access the app unless the car is running. Not sure why.If it wasn't for that I would give it 5 stars.

This little guy has all the features of bigger, bulkier, more expensive options, but half the size and half the price. The Garmin interface is the best on the market, and the app makes set up an easy and painless process. The SD card is formatted once you place it in the slot. A bit of advice, turn off the sound via the app and purchase the correct type of SD card in a reasonable size. Overall, this is a great product.

Lasted 1 day and then kept power cycling on and off. I liked the small size and easy operation and features so I exchanged it. Hopefully better luck with the new one. I like that it’s small enough to hide behind the mirror so less chance of theft. It connects very easily to your phone and it’s easy enough to export videos to your phone also. The incident detection can be adjusted. I originally had it at max sensitivity but with PA roads it marked a dozen of videos to save. Medium seems to be the best setting. 1080p Video quality is sufficient for your needs.

I have been looking for a dash cam that would provide a clear picture, be discreet and easy to use. The Garmin is perfect, easy to setup and easy to use with your app. Comes with a power adapter so you can connect with car charger. However I recommend you buy the extra power adapter from Garmin that allows you to hardwire this into your car this way when you turn your ignition on the Garmin will automatically start to record.

I purchased a different dash cam previously but Garmin was better. Easy to install. The video is clear and crisp. You can save the video and picture by voice command. You have to have a good WiFi connection to view the video live. Also, I bought a lens to eliminate the glare and better image/picture.It’s was a good product.

It definitely wont get in the way. This camera is small and easy to wire if you have a auto dimming rearview camera (all you need is the donger adapter cable and just have to pull one panel off). Picture is okay and just a tad laggy. The online app is also just okay, you have to be connected to wifi to download videos to the "vault" and can pay extra for the subscription to hold videos in the cloud. I also wish it came with a memory card. I would still recommend this camera but can only give it four stars.

Ordered this last year for my car. It has worked well so far. It has auto saved the few times I have slammed on my brakes. I have mine hardwired into the rear view mirror, and my only issue is that sometimes it doesn’t turn on. I found that the fix has been to cycle the car on/off a couple times. Other than that, footage is great and the fact that it’s a small camera is a plus.

The hardware is fine. It is extra compact compared to everything else out there and it is reliable. No lithium battery inside to risk overheating is actually a positive. Offloading video by swapping the sdcard and you are ok, it will function. It is not competitive in resolution, aim for 4k alternative instead. The worst part, the phone app is completely unstable garbage when working with video with advanced setups with a front and rear camera. Wifi exporting fails, it is painfully slow, will not regularly load unsaved/temporary footage. Editing video is a horrible experience. Holds better value than the screened options from Garmin. Garmin doesn't care about this product and should sell the rights to a vendor that will actually support it. This product is not competitive with what is, and what will be on the market. I cannot believe this is the same company that makes state of the art aircraft glass panels. This is all hinging on the software being completely sideways. I would give it at most 4 stars if the software were fixed. Do not count on Garmin fixing their software. They don't care.

So far no issues. Too soon to qualify. I really like the size. Formatting the SD card was frustrating but it finally happened, not sure why it took so many attempts. Installation couldn't be simpler, peel and stick. Watch where you place it as the red light could be very annoying if not hidden by your mirror.

Great little dashcam for the price. The cable included was super long, making it easy to hide the wires on the installation. Comes with 2 stick mounts to glass. Does not come with an SD card but that isn't a dealbreaker. 1080p quality is enough for me, but some people may want to look for 4k options. The app is not very good at retrieving footage on your phone. It works, but takes forever. I would suggest just waiting home and downloading the footage to a computer. You can do that with the other cable included.

I like the size of this dash cam, and that’s the only reason I chose it. I didn’t need a screen on the cam and I prefer minimal obstructions to my vision while driving. The app isn’t too bad to navigate but uploading videos to my phone has been cumbersome and frustrating. Trimming from the start of the video is hard to get ahold of and always wants to drag the screen back to the vault and I have yet to actually upload any of the numerous videos I’ve tried to put on my phone because it takes forever and the cam’s wifi has always dropped out before finishing. I wish I could just connect it direct to my device with a cable. This is my first dash cam so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can tell I’ll be returning this within the week if I don’t figure out a better way.

Good video quality for 1080p (believe it uses higher bitrate encoding then comparably priced cams). Love the form factor, simplicity of use, voice activation features, and ability to multicam. 140 degree angle of view is sufficient and not overly fisheyed compared to 180 AOV. Build quality feels good but time will tell obviously. App is just okay with both BT and WiFi (2.4ghz only, boo!) connections occasionally finicky. Settings apply quickly but media transfer rates can be slow wireless (just eject card and transfer/edit elsewhere or connect cam to tablet/laptop/PC with cable). Optional/additional cost polarizing filter helps with the glare but is too expensive for what it is and should really be included on lens of unit “stock”. Picked up another one elsewhere to use for rear view and multicam them.
