Updates easily, but you might want to get a memory card for it if you keep many way points and saved addresses.

When the battery finally stopped charging, I bought the new model. I am so disappointed. The battery doesn't charge if it's hot outside. In result, I find myself stranded because the GPS just won't turn on. I contacted the technical support and they said in hot weather the battery just shuts off and cannot be charged. For safety. So now I have a GPS that basically cannot be used in hot Northeastern summer. Waste of money.

Connect the device to a power source with the vehicle power cable or an AC adapter. Press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds.
