Bought this item for my son who was a victim of a hit and run, the offender ran my sons car into a parked car and took off. My sons car was subsequently unable to move so my son could not chase after the criminal, luckily a good samaratin who witnessed the act was able to return with the offenders license plate #! And after another close call "accident" i decided to purchase this item for my son! Cant beat it a GPS with a dash cam built in! You cant deny the importance of a dash cam in case of a accident!

I got this as a replacement for another brand. So far, it has been really nice - both the GPS and dash cam. Since I had to travel, I took it along andit really worked well. I'm still getting used to voice command and app to my cell phone features, but they are really nice to have. No complaints so far.

Did a lot of research before buying this one and we are glad we did. It is perfect, easy to use and great map with many extras . The video camera is great and being able to upload new maps and updates via WiFi is also and great new feature. I will never buy a car with a gps in it as this is the way to go . Love Garmin !

Upgraded from an older Garmin, so far it has been great and met all expectations. Haven't really used the camera yet but hope to soon. Some of the notifications can get annoying but it is easy to turn them off.

We bought this for my son and daughter who just got their drivers licenses. This is a great unit. 1st-It has voice command so they don't have to touch the GPS. If they want to know where the nearest Sonic is, all they have to do is talk to it. 2nd-it's fast. We've had a couple of older GPS units that took a while to update. 3rd- this one has a dashcam which is AWESOME for me to go back and review their driving habits. Oh and it records sound which is funny to hear how my kids argue. 4th- bluetooth allows them to connect a phone to it and speak through that if you like for hands-free driving. Now I just one too!

Although I have not tried all features the ones I did try are a big improvement over my old Garmin GPS. I didn't have to punch in the entire address it looked it up for me - Time Saver! It has a lifetime of map updates - Money Saver! So far so good!

I needed something that I could use for directions when the GPS on phone wasn't working. I do damage assessments in areas hit by disasters and sometimes don't get good (or any) internet. The Garmin helps out in those times. I like that I can build a route and not have to go one by one as on phone. Only issue is the duration of battery. But, as long as I've got a car I can keep it charged.

Time for an Upgrade

I have used Garmin devices for a long time. My last one has lasted me through 8 hard years of travel. I upgraded to this one because the screen is bigger. The Bluetooth works better. I am able to use the Garmin App on my iPhone and am able to pull up my phone contact list and input my destination straight from the app. This is going to save me a lot of time getting to the places I travel to often without having to take the time to input the address into the device itself. Now if only it were this easy with my personal car...

A good little GPS. The camera is a great addition since you can film just about anything. The alerts are a bit annoying, but you can shut them off.

First, Best Buy was great in honoring their extended warranty when my Magellan started having issues. However, they no longer carry Magellan in the stores (don't know why but wish they did). As my job requires 95% traveling (interstate) I took the offer of the Garmin over waiting for one to "be shipped in". On the surface they are very similar. Surface is where that ends. If I had never used a Magellan, I would be a lot happier with Garmin. Garmin assumes everything is local. The ONLY way to get a distant address is to enter the ENTIRE address including city and state. Really? My Magellan entered zip code, partial street name (it would bring up a list to choose relevant to the zip code) and building number. Also, Magellan allows choice of shortest distance, fastest times and avoidances for each trip. Garmin has these under master settings and you are stuck with what you pick for each trip unless you go through several menus to change the option. Even with GPS, I still have to determine if my equipment can fit/is allowed down streets--choosing these items per trip is VERY beneficial. Magellan seems to adapt much quicker and reroutes if I make a change. On my last trip, Garmin spent 10 miles trying to have me turn around to get back on their determined route before re-routing.

Wonderful piece of equipment, didn't have any problems finding stops that I had to make while traveling from the west coast. Had more features that I discovered after trip was over, should have read the instructions more.

It is so efficient and convenient to have the dash cam built into the gps. Functions very well except for the lane warning feature - seemed overly sensitive - we disabled it. Still give great marks to this unit

I have used a GPS navigator in my car for over 20 years. This is the best one I have ever had There are still some features i haven't tried, but the ones that I have used are the best. The camera gives you very good lane departure warnings and collision avoidance. Warnings for red-light cameras, speed limit changes, and curves also. The voice command feature is easy to use and accurate. If you use the camera app, the right 1/3 of the screen will give you a easy one-tap access to save the recording and take a picture of what the camera sees. Download the VIRB app to your phone or tablet to share and edit your recordings. Download the 34 page Owners Manual (PDF) for all the features. Great Navigator.

Easy setup, all the features it advertises are there. Took about 2 hours to update all software/firmware over wifi (I have a good signal in my garage.). Have not viewed a recorded video yet. Lane drift, proximity and "Go ahead" warnings all work. Paired with BT quickly, but that is not a feature I use. Does not come with a manual, but it is easy to get one online at Garmin for a detailed description of all features.

I like it. There's one thing Garmin could improve. The lane depart detection is pretty horrible. It will constantly go off if enabled. It's not a big deal if you don't care to use this feature like me. I just turned it off. Other than that it's a really good GPS/camera.
