    A Great Companion Out There

It's pricey. It's hefty. It's huge. And yet it doesn't need to apologize for any of those because it's proud of what it can do, and some more! Not just that but it can back it up with solid data that's a treasure trove for numbers-and-graphs geeks! It's true - if it cannot track an activity, why the heck are you trying to do it? There's no need to go into detail of what it can and cannot do, as it has been discussed in the interwebs ad infinitum. The only question one needs to ask themselves is this: Are they worthy to have this beast and at least give it some tiny justice by having it do what it's intended for, and going out is a great start to make.

As a regular fan of Suunto watches for ultra trail running, I was between this and the Suunto 9. I am super happy I went with the Fenix 5x plus. The fitness features are awesome, and it's a great smart watch as an added bonus. The acclimatization feature is a game changer and the ability to load music is also a plus. Battery lasted me 8 days through 10 workouts (3 with GPS) on first charge out of the box. This is pretty remarkable in my view when compared with basic fitness trackers. Haven't really found anything I don't like after 2 weeks of use. I also have to add that I really like the Garmin app better than the Suunto app (movescount) for viewing data.

The only reason this review does not have 5 stars is that the band that comes with it, after a lot of wear and tear may break, got it replaced for free with warranty and watch has gone through a lot of different weather conditions and works flawlessly, easy to use for beginners and the Navigation is accurate.

The GPS is awesome along with being able to get phone alerts on it. The heart rate monitor is great for my training. Also battery life is 4-5 days and charging only takes 20-30 minutes. Love that I can track my sleep and pulse oxygen

I had an Apple Watch and liked it but battery would only last 1.5 days. This watch is true GPS accurate fitness tracking and has a professional appearance. The battery will last 2weeks and won’t scratch 100% satisfied.

Love this watch. It has everything you could want in a smartwatch. I rarely made calls or texts to people on my old smartwatch because it was a little cumbersome and couldnt hear that well. So not having that capability is big miss. The battery life and build is amazing. The only draw back to the watch is that the screen is not amoled so the screen isnt the brightes or crisp but thats why the battery lasts so long. The compass and maps are spot on and as for health and fitness part of it it makes you want to get outside and use it and get excersise and use the gps and have an adventure. the bands are super comfy, enough so wear it all day and night.

My do it all Garmin Fenix 5X Plus is a must have. Comfortable, sleep with it every night. Music app is great with my earbuds and GPS is very useful while hunting or fishing or just hiking. So far have not had any issues.

So far this watch has been pretty great, it's able to track all sorts of stuff like HR, steps, sleep, and floors climbed. Although most fitness trackers can also track those basics I like that this watch shows more detail when tracking exercises, runs, and bike rides than my old Fitbit Blaze. The O2 sensor doesn't seem to work that great though because whenever I try to view that data on the app, it crashes. I've used the built in Garmin Pay and music and so far it's worked without any issues. The built in GPS is also very convenient so that I can go on runs/bike rides without having to take my phone.

Trying to replace a 5-year-old Tom Tom Watch that had onboard music so I tried most options that have that ability. This jumped on sale so I decided to try it. Beautiful and well-built watch and many options/functions that I would never use. Heart rate sensor is sketchy but that is inherent to most optical wrist-based sensors. The biggest disappointment for me was the clarity of the display. It seemed to never be "crisp". Very disappointing with a watch at this price! Possibly it was the Sapphire crystal? Whatever the reason, I find that the display on the Garmin 245 music to be easier to see/clearer than this one. The displays are the same size (1.2") and resolution but the Fenix is a much bigger watch

Absolutely great watch for fitness junkies. Great GPS, just the right level of "smart" watch and great battery life. My only issue is that some functions like the pulse oximeter and sleep stages seem too flaky to be more than a novelty.

This is my first ever smartwatch/fitness tracker. I wasn't sure if I should buy it or not due to the price. I wasn't sure I would use it because I'd never had one before. This thing is awesome. I use it several times a day to track my heart rate and O2 level while I'm working out. The maps while exercising are accurate and the notifications help me immensely. The watchband is very comfortable. I charge this about every 10-12 days. The battery life is great. I'm only just beginning to figure out the features on this watch. It's a process, but there are videos and tutorials for new owners like me.

I've had my Garmin Fenix 5X Plus for 4 months now and cannot be more happier with it. This watch does it all. As a waterproof, multisport watch, it really does it all. I've used this watch for triathlons, marathons, hiking, golfing, walking, and more. I purchased the 5X Plus for the extra battery life and have not regretted it. I only charge my watch about every week or so, but can actually go longer than that. My old garmin multisport watch had to sync/update with Garmin Connect via USB cable with my laptop, but not this watch. The bluetooth feature automatically syncs all of my activities and they are immediately available to view on my smart phone via Garmin Connect. I love this watch.

His Words: I was apprehensive at first of the high price tag but when you read the list of features I went for it. From the moment I put it on I knew it was worth the extra money. The battery lasts for over two weeks and I love that because on my previous cheaper models I was charging them nightly. The watch has many more features that I have not seen on other models like tracking indoor biking, rowing, running, elliptical and the navigation is spot on. With having the ability to change the layout of the watch face you can customize to suit your needs. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone who is active and wants to track their fitness results.

I’ve been reluctant to buy a watch that needs to be charged. My last watch had its own solar power recharge system but was a pretty standard watch. This one has some really cool technology and is easy to navigate and understand. Battery life is exceptional. Was traveling out of town for a week, connected to my iPhone BT and getting call/email/text notifications and on day 8 battery was at 70%! Haven’t tested energy draw using the map feature yet but “wow!” Don’t have to worry about plugging in every night was a big deal to me. I also really like the rugged look of the watch. I’m not a fan of most of the other tech wearables on the market.

I've always wanted a Fenix watch and this one had what it took to get me to take the plunge. Coming from a galaxy watch, first and foremost I have noticed the excellent battery life. Almost 2 weeks with regular use and 4 or 5 45 minute GPS using activities a week. It is a great blend of smart watch and fitness/GPS watch in one device. One thing to note is it is definitely closer to a digital watch face that is slightly smart watch face capable than a true smart watch face. Also the sapphire crystal makes it a little less bright than similar models with glass. Completely happy with fit, function and build quality.
