Overall, the watch has great battery life and tracks runs well, but the app doesnt integrate well with Apple health or any other apps.

I went from the Apple Watch 8 to this watch, and I was EXTREMELY pleased. The battery life on this smartwatch was EPIC, and after using it for 7 days straight (without GPS use or anything like that) I was still comfortably at 50 percent. The lack of a touchscreen didn’t matter to me at all (the buttons are very intuitive and easy to use and get used to), and the fact that this watch works with both Android and iOS was one of the main reasons I made the switch (I HATE being locked in to any ecosystem). The iConnect app worked seamlessly with both my Google Pixel 6a and my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The only reason I returned was that the band broke out my wrist something terrible, and when I looked up replacement bands, they were pretty much the same material. All in all, just a great fitness tracking smartwatch.

    Best Value Watch For Price

Im not sure I could've got a better watch for health and fitness for the price (on sale: was ~$250). I took a good few weeks to look, and the Forerunner 255 was my choice. Getting coordinated with the buttons and setting up the UI for yourself can be fiddly, but once I got it set for me, I found myself appreciating the watch even more. The UI design choices made, overall, make this intuitive to use, for me. Ive had no issues with accuracy of tracking on any sensor; however, I wish sleep (as it can with naps) could be started and stopped by me, manually, instead of detected. Its not so much the sensing, as it is the programming for it to end based on what it considers your wake up time. Battery life is phenomenal. Ive not owned something that lasts a week on a charge maybe ever, or at least since the 90s. It can go longer, but I like the health metrics constantly recording.

The Garmin Forerunner 255 has truly exceeded my expectations and transformed my fitness journey. From its lightweight design to its unmatched accuracy, this smartwatch has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. The GPS tracking is spot-on, and the heart rate monitor provides reliable insights during workouts. I love the personalized training plans and advanced analytics—it’s like having a personal coach on my wrist! Plus, the battery life is phenomenal, lasting several days even with regular use. Whether you’re a runner, cyclist, or just someone looking to stay active, this watch is worth every penny. Highly recommend!

I have been a garmin fan and was using garmin Venue sq music edition since 3 years and as I was moving to swimming. I wanted a more durable and underwater safe watch. Garmin gmforerunner 255 was the best match both fro. Specs and price perspective. Loving it. The accuracy is great. And i use it very effectively. Must buy

Coming from an amoled screen to this MIP screen was a struggle at first but once u settle in, this thing is amazing. The amount of information it provides in the app AND on the watch itself is great! Battery life, oh dont get me started on battery life. Minimum 10 days with turning gps on only when going on a run is other worldly. Also, i can actually wear this to bed and use the sleeping tracking. Never in my wildest dreams would that be a thing with my previous watch. So far no regrets. If ur thinking about getting it...do it!

I upgraded from my starter watch, Timex, and i wish i had done it sooner. My favorite feature is the ability to craft custom workouts. The larger face and text makes it possible to read without my reading glasses. Battery lasts over 7 days while running 30-40 miles/ week.

Got this to replace a years old Forerunner 235. I like the added features and metrics, and it's just as easy to use as the 235. It has the features I use, a few new ones that I've started using -- and not a lot of useless (for me) items that just get in the way. Works great with the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone. Highly recommend for runners who do other activities -- like functional fitness/CrossFit-style workouts -- to augment their primary sport. I did replace the silicon band with a fabric one since the silicon irritated by skin.

Bought watch for my son who is big into running, biking and starting swimming. He loves everything about it. He wanted the 55 but I got him this ones instead because it has more features. He has thanked me 10 times for not listening to him. He also has been bad mouthing his old Apple Watch and said it doesn’t even compare.

My Forerunner has been amazing for helping me train. Every morning I get a summary of my data, and with the Garmin Connect app I can see everything in detail. Such a great device for anyone interested in increasing performance, but also great for people new to running.

Works very well for what I bought it for. Provides great support for runners and all-day pulse rate tracking. I love the very accurate GPS mapping of distance covered. I have no complaints. It could have a better display perhaps full array but that’s not why I bought it.

I bought this watch on sale because my last watch recently quit working. This watch is great for running. The battery life is pretty good and you can check messages from your phone as well. It's a great watch, not too big and not too small. It's also easy to use and navigate.

Easily the best running watch I have ever used. Very easy to use. The GPS is spot on. The battery life is waaaay better than an Apple Watch, which my wife has and is always charging it. I probably charge my watch every 2 weeks.

I've owned Garmin watches for 15+ years. I bought this watch for a friend that accomplished a big achievement. This is after he was admiring this same exact watch that my wife bought me a few months back. This watch is nothing short of great. I wear it at all times and use the sleep tracker/body battery daily. When working out, I mostly use it for running -- tracking time, distance and v02 max. The UI is easy to navigate and it comes with a ton of apps + the ability to add more if that's your interest. In my opinion, this watch is worth every penny. If you purchase it, do yourself a favor a buy a screen protector!

I have owned 3 watches from garmin. My only complaint is the battery charging connection. My first garmin used magnetic charging, and that worked great, but since then, for both the Instinct and this watch, i am stuck with a special cable that you can't just find in any store. You have to order from Garmin. Having said that, being able to track so much data for years is great. Garmins connect allows me to see my progress over the past years weeks, months. That is a great feature. Garmin IQ is also relatively easy for watch faces.

I will preface this review by stating that this watch is great for those looking for a watch that is 90% fitness 10% watch. If you are looking for something that is more smartch watchie than fitness or even 50/50 fitness watch this is light on anything outside of fitness. Amazing watch for those that love to run. The comprehensive running coaches help set a plan for your fitness goals. My wife loves the watch and is using it to train for a 5k. I highly reccomed this watch for those looking forna true fitness watch.
