Super simple to get it started and to use, very easy to follow directions, great extras - showing upcoming locations of gas stations, shopping malls, eating areas, etc. Love it!!!!

Bought 2 of these GPS when we moved to a new state. main reason being it has voice command feature. .1 works great with voice and 1 doesn't understand half of what you say. But overall it has great features.

This GPS works great. We had an older model that broke of another brand and bought this because it was on sale and got good reviews. We are very happy with it. So much easier to use.

I have a couple of Garmin gps before ... But this one came with bigger screen . It is a lot easier for me to look at it while driving ...

As the title states, this is the best GPS I have ever owned. I previously owned another Garmin GPS, and they have made some BIG improvements, even though the first one was good.

The garmin has been well worth the cost. We recently relocated and needed something other than our phones for directions. Easy to set-up and use and we love the customization options.

After comparing many products finally I zeroed on nuvi2597 as it has North American maps, lifetime free updates, blue tooth and 5inch display, now I realise it was the best choice .

I have had other gps's in the past and I needed to purchase a new one. I have already put this one to the test and it performed as anticipated. Would definitely recommend this product.

My Garmin GPS does a good job and helps me avoid traffic problems and save time on my trips. Blue tooth also helps with phone calls.

This GPS works as advertised, and is very user friendly. Don't like the fact that you have to go online to register it via the map update link. Also, doesn't necessarily map out the route that is the fastest.

This GPS is able to provide details on delays along your route (Broken down vehicle) even estimated delay time. Best purchase ever.

Updating the maps was a little pain in the butt, but afterwards it was well worth the purchase.

This works so much better than the megellan I had before Lifetime updates and traffic wife loves it also.. Great price .verry happy Have recommended to a friend. Yea road trips

This is my first experience with GPS and I was nervous about learning how to use it. Geek Squad guy set it up for me at the store and showed me how to use it. Practiced with it in areas I knew in order to get used to it. Some routes are different from what I usually use, but they get you there. Road names all seem to be correct. Can't say as much for the services - restaurants, gas, etc. - very out of date. Other than that I've been enjoying it. The voice is pleasant and doesn't get annoying when I vary from the route it's plotted. Picks up location and plots new route quickly.

This is a very useful tool and easy to use. I had an earlier version without map and traffic update and loved it. Having lifetime maps and traffic updates is a super upgrade.

I bought the 2597 thinking I was upgrading from my old 1390. Well, I did get a larger screen, but the new shape for these Garmin devices is a bit of a step back. They must have hired someone from Tom-Tom to lead their design team. My old 1390 is completely flat so when I park the car I can slip it into a pocket and have it on hand if I want to navigate in pedestrian mode. Of course, Garmin seems to have surgically removed the pedestrian mode from their newer models because they would rather not have you walking around, I guess. They've also made their menus a bit more obscure, so be sure to look them over BEFORE you are in a hurry to get somewhere. I thought at first that I would really like the voice command option in the 2597, but I ended up disabling it. The problem for me is that say you are talking to someone in your car and you mention new personnel or something else at your (military) command. the 2597 heard you say "command" and understands that you no longer care about getting to the location that you input, you now want to give a voice command. Ah, nothing like trying to get out of that while navigating streets in a foreign country. You can achieve the same results by, for example, discussing the command form of a verb in a foreign language that you are studying. All of that said, the 2597 is pretty good at achieving it's basic goal of getting you to your destination. Our first couple of days in Germany a friend of ours drove us around using her Magellan. It could find the right places, but while en route the display was often about a block or more behind our actual location, making it a bit disconcerting when trying to reconcile the audio instructions with the visual display and the actual situation outside the car windows. Final say: I still prefer Garmin over it's competitors, but as long as Garmin is going to strip out functions and in their new models I don't see any reason to buy an expensive one. Just stick to their lower end models and they will get you where you need to go.

First portable GPS ever owned..Absolute great product and great price ( compared to what they charge you for one to be installed in your car at dealership) very easy to use also.

I bought this for work as my smart phone doesn't always have a signal in some areas. So far I think its great ,love the large display and the traffic updates. A plus is the Bluetooth technology for hands free phone conversations ! If you don't have a smart phone I heartily recommend this unit .

I replaced my older Tom Tom with this Garmin. I used it for the first time on a trip to Canada and found it easy to use with very little instruction. Very happy with this GPS.

If you want a gps that does multipal things this one is good. Sometimes a bit strange like it will reboot itself. But the traffic heads up and automatic adjustment to time because of delays ahead is nice
