I used this extensively in SE Oregon where landmarks are few and far between. "Gertie" Garmin took us everywhere we wanted to go... She even showed us some real time saving shortcuts and survived the dry and dusty climate with nary a peep .. I will be glad to accompany her anywhere.

I like this because its easy to use and very good.

This is my second Garmin I have bought, The first one I bought in 2007 was great at first but became flat out unreliable. After years of service. I swore I would never go to another Garmin but after looking at countless reviews this model was the winner. I used it to go from Florida to Tennessee and back and use it in Florida and works great. Love the lane assist. That is my biggest pet peeve was not knowing what exit to use until the last minute. I had got used to my old Garmin telling me as I'm driving by my exit to turn right now. For the money it is worth it. Time will tell if it will develop my old gps habits.

Excellent product, more features, very informative

I've only had the 2597LMT a little over 3 weeks, and rely on it every day being in "Sales" for my company. Overall, pretty good unit. Very fast startup, clear screen, LOTS of info, but it took awhile to figure out all the features. Haven't tried the voice commands yet, but looking forward to it. Wish you could clear individual "history" locations without clearing the entire memory. This, the short battery life and the barely visible screen in sunlight, are the only downfalls I've encountered so far.

I am very pleased with the feature set the gps has. I wasnt sure I would use many of the voice command features because of past experiences. I find that I use the voice recognition all the time and it is very reliable. I am a happy garmin customer.

Love the new Garmin and the traffic updates. AOKAY

Makes you fill safe and secure when traveling around your town or a different town. Keeps you updated on any road problems such as detours or accidents. Helps to locate alternate routes locally and on the highway.

I had previously broken my GPS. I needed a replacement. It was great that I was able to move my favorites from one Garmin to next. Great features and simple to use. It connects quickly.

We used the Garmin to help us drive around an unfamiliar area where we were visiting family. By and large, it did the job well (once I got used to the settings and controls), but it directed us to a restaurant that wasn't there, and gave us a circuitous route through residential streets rather than the commercial route on state highways that we found on our own. I was glad to find the standard map view: I find the 3D view misleading (on any device) — I find a plan view much easier to understand.

I needed to upgrade my older garmin GPS so I settled on this one, and I don't regret it! I've had 2 updates within the last 2 months of purchasing it, and it was all within the cost of the GPS. The only thing is I wish that when the directions recalculate... it announces it lol

Great size, speedy mapping and a terrific display. We're absolutely thrilled that this replacement for our 8 year old unit (that still worked perfectly, but we lost) is even better than our old one. Highly recommend!!!

I bought this GPS after my 5 year old Magellan started to die. Was easy to set up and update. I use this daily to find customers homes and it's always finds the best route.Love the Bluetooth and smart link app. The app lets you look up places on a map on your smart phone and send it to the gps. This comes in handy if the gps cannot find the address in it's data. (they can't get all the new addresses in there). Screen is easy to navigate though a little hard to see in direct sunlight. It's a darn good unit!

I have a few GPS's for a vehicles and have two or three of this model. We like it because we do some mission work in Mexico and like the maps that it gives us. We use this plus paper maps when traveling in Mexico that is one of the reasons we like it for our drivers.

this device is easy to use and simple to navigate. I have not experienced any issues with up-to-date mapping or traffic updates.

I purchased this for my mom since her unit felt like the first edition short version. She was hesitant at first since she is not a big fan of change, but she does appreciate the same initial format and little tid bits that make this unit better.

This is my third Garmin (unfortunately my first two were stolen!) and I really rely on this for finding my quickest route home and getting me to my destination when I am detoured off my normal path. I have tried other GPS systems and also have GPS on my phone, but the Garmin has the best visual and audio cues - you won't miss a turn. My only frustration is the phone feature. If you have your GPS on and your phone rings, the phone audio is muted and it will take a few minutes to turn the feature off on the GPS.

Great GPS, has lots of nice features, easy to use. Many options to "tweak" it to your liking. Only negative takes long time to update maps, and must do entire USA at once.

We bought a new garmen because our old one was getting old. Used it on three trips now and never got lost. Love the graphics and the pics of the road signs coming up when there is a turn off on the interstate.
