WE used this on our trip from PA to NC. What we loved was the way it told you or showed you the left and right exits.. and what the exit would look like when you got close to it. We loved the voice command, which will prove very useful when navigating on your own. We loved being able to find gas or food and just add it to our route then get back on our way. There were a lot more funcitons that would be great for others... but this was our first trip with a gps and we are not tech savy... but our son kept saying awesome! We did purchase a seperate cord to have current traffic updates instead of using just the one that came with it. Not sure how current it is supposed to be but it didn't seem to work as well. sometimes it would say there was traffic but there was none.. and sometimes we were in traffic and it didn't say there was congestion... my hope was that it would help with accidents on the major highways and help reroute us. We will have to wait to see if that happens. All in all we are happy with this.

Very good product, easy to handle & navigate through the various options available, not so heavy - hence any windscreen/dashboard holders can be used to hold this, maps are accurate. If I need to buy again, may be I will opt for a bigger screen-size.

Used it to get around Michigan a bit and then took it on a trip out west. Used it to drive from Las Vegas to Sedona and back. It was helpful to look ud certain attractions, gas and restaurants.

For the price this is a very nice unit, Ease of use, bluetooth, phone connectivity are great. The wife wanted a new GPS for Christmas. Researched them and I felt for the money this was the best choice and I have been satisfied with my decision.

I bought for my son who lives in the city. Up to date traffic status, alternate routes and lane assist very important features for him. This model has them all and screen is very clear. He loved his old GPS and hated to change but quality of this model made transition easy.

We needed to replace a Garmin that was very old and unpredictable after it was recalled because of a battery issue. Selected this Garmin because it has lifetime updates and seemed easy to use. It performed admirably the first time I used it.

So far this has been doing a good job of accurately finding where I want to go. It’s easy to see what I’m supposed to do and the voice commands are clear and easy to hear. I’m not yet sure about how good the traffic alert feature is. I don’t usually have to deal with very much traffic, but, I’ve hit at least one backed up area that wasn’t detected at all. However, on a couple of occasions it has shown me that I’m headed for a slow area. For me, the size is perfect. It’s large enough to easily see but still small enough not to be in my way. The screen is clear and bright.

Since purchasing my garmin nuvi device I have been able to get to places that I never could do on my own without this gps. I love the fact that it is simple to use and understand and gives you turn by turn directions and lane assists as well.

She tells me to prepare to turn, warns me of traffic backups, lets me know how long until arrival at destination. couldn't ask for more. I really love my Garmin. So easy to use!

Lifetime traffic and map updates are awesome, as is the fact that when you get close to your exit, it shows you on a half of the screen which lane to be in. I have had this for a month or so and have had no issues. It is so sleek.

the 2597lmt gps navigator was easy to set up once the software was loaded. The screen is easy to see and touch screen works great...live traffic updates combined with voice command and blue-tooth makes this a great choice..

Bought this model on sale for $150 and it is well worth the money. It has free unlimited updates with blue tooth features and also a suction mount for my windshield. Overall very happy. It will redirect if caught in traffic.

I bought 2, for my children who are 19 +21. the lifetime maps and traffic are essential, but it is the Bluetooth that made the difference for me. Now, a hands free phone function add to safety, which I was looking for.

I purchased this GPS for my wife's Aunt who is in her late 80s. She is familiar with the principle, but was intimidated by the voice recognition of one device that she tried. This GPS responded much better than the one she used before. She especially liked the fact that we "humanized" it by having the wake up phrase set to "Samatha - Listen up!" That aside, she found that the Active Lane Guidance was much better for her. Not only does it have the split screen to show a close up of the exit ramp, but it more clearly advises you which lane to be in. The Garmin Real Directions is also an appreciated improvement that makes the driving experience all the better for someone that is technically challenged. The only drawback is the speech recognition requires a loud voice since it appears that the microphone is bothered by high frequencies like fan motors in the winter.

the nuvi 2597LMT, is a very easy to use interface, large screen makes seeing maps easy. Very intuitive in programming. I have had other GPS units before from other vendors and I would recommend this over the others

This system is great and easy to use. It does everything it says it will do and more. I have only used it a couple times so far. I am looking forward to when I can use it again. I have only owned Garmin GPS systems.

This GPS was very inexpensive and does more than I will ever need. I appreciate its intuitiveness and it is easy to program. I really like that the screen shows the actual lane I need to be in when using an exit.

I am in love with my Garmin nuvi 2597 LMT. For years I owned the nuvi 40, but gave it to my daughter when she bought her first car. I loved Garmin product so much I decided to upgrade a little and buy A more advanced model. I purchased the nuvi 2455LMT and HATED IT. I took it back to best buy, paid more money and purchased the nuvi 2597 LMT and Garmin redeemed itself. The voice recognition is easy to use, and if you wait approx. 1 second after the device asks you to speak, she get's it right every time. The traffic here in Atlanta can be horrendous and the constant traffic updates so far has been both a time and stress saver. The ability to locate specific stores, banks, gas stations etc nearby is helpful. The screen is huge and manages to provide all necessary info without compromising directions. Overall it's an awesome product. I haven't used the bluetooth yet so I can't comment on that.

Love this GPS. Works great and so simple to understand. It also has a different lighting for night and day, split screen and enough warning to be able to turn. Recommend for anyone who does a lot of driving.

This is my 3rd Garmin GPS over the last 10 years. Was finally ready to upgrade from my street pilot 550c. Plugged it in while still in the parking lot. Fit perfectly with my Garmin mount I used with the old model. After the lifetime map update it was ready to go. Wasn't sure about the voice command but since the store matched the online price I went ahead and stepped up to this model. The voice command is a little tricky to get used to but after the first week I learned most of the common commands and now it works great. Just takes a little time to learn them. Blue tooth hands free phone is clear and works great. The menus are classic Garmin and work just like the older models I've owned. If you are going to buy a GPS then get a Garmin. Nothing else comes close.
