Cord attaches in akward place..can't just lie flat

It can't lie flat because of the power cord. I have already went through 1 cord in 2 months. Better next round if they made the cord attach to the side of the unit and not the rear. Overall it's a very nice and easy to use GPS.

It consistently insists on directing me to take a short cut over a mountain to my home instead of the normal way when I come home from church.... The one time I followed the directions to my home on my way home from church, I was led to drive home (over the mountain) in a way that resulted in driving on a road with grass growing in the middle of the road.... a scary road, where the only person I saw was a man, a hillbilly who's beard was very long down to his stomach and looked like someone in the movie "Deliverance"....... But in all seriousness here... I would not buy another Garmin GPS because I have tried every way to update the maps and my computer will not recognize it when it is plugged in. It searches but never finds... I read about it and decided maybe I need a usb2 hub- that might help. It didn't. I have never NEVER been able to update my Garmin since they switched to something called Garmin Express for updating it. It simply doesn't work on my Mac. I need this Garmin to go on a trip- but I am forced to buy a new GPS because this very expensive Garmin Nuvi can't be trusted with an old map... plus it cuts off for no reason!!! Never damaged it. It just stopped working right after owning it for one year.

When set to faster time, the nüvi uses information including posted speed limits, road types, and driving distance to create a route that is faster even if it may be a longer distance. If the device's route preference or calculation mode is set to Shorter Distance, this may cause the device to guide you off of a highway in order to navigate a more direct route. Other factors include system software updates. Garmin often releases updates for devices to improve performance, correct bugs or add new features. This will only update the internal operating system software. To check for updates download and install Garmin Express: http://www.garmin.com/express

Great features for GPS

No time to really get acquainted before takeoff but proved easy to use with good voice. Good 3D visuals. Have not used voice command feature yet but look foward to in future. Why does nothing come with printed instructions/manual anymore??!!

Dislikes of this device: 1. Not being able to enter a zip code instead of city name when inputting address. 2. You wont be able to change the route to your destination (avoiding a certain road). The only way to do that is to add an intermediate destination to take you the way you want.
