Great navigator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After pretty much using my phone for all navigation for the past few years, I decided to just purchase one of these Garmin units. I've found it to get signal in places where I can't get phone service, getting me out of tough situations every now and then. The built in Bluetooth is also great for an older car that doesn't have the functions new cars have these days.

Love the free map updates and bluetooth!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my son to use to drive himself home from school. I love the fact that it has free map updates for life and bluetooth. He used it twice already and he even gives fellow classmates rides home with it. Best thing is I don't have to worry about him using up his data plan on his phone now!

Garmin - nüvi 2597LMT ... My best-GPS-buy to date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Garmin - nüvi 2557LMT; so you have maps of ALL North America, & you have the free lifetime update for maps AND traffic, you have the side panel for better lane vision ... it was an amazing device. But, now with the new Garmin - nüvi 2597LMT, you can also use voice command to change your destination while driving, and with the bluetooth you can connect to your iPhone & transfer info. to the GPS. It is the maximum you can get at this price!

Easy to use GPS-user friendly.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many folks wonder why you would use a GPS when you have a GPS on your phone. But it saves data charges and allows you to dedicate your phone for other uses (music, calls, etc.) This GPS has good routing and doesn't seem to take you on odd routes. Also like the fact that it shows where traffic is heavy so you can choose a different route.

Great bang for the buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The voice command feature often has great difficulty in correctly guessing the address I have just spoken very plainly, but other than that I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The price is great, the maps are updated for life, it's nice having traffic updates, and it even gives some landmarks. There's been a couple times it has given me some screwy directions that made no sense and I had to use my iPhone to see what was really going on, but for less than 200 bucks this GPS works really well,

Good GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked the voice command option. It works really well even if I am not a native English speaker. I would have liked to see more options though for voice commands. The only drawback with this model is daylight visibility and angle visibility. The passenger cannot see anything, which might not seem important but my wife also wants to see trip details, ETA, etc.

Great system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a gift for my husband. He was looking at a lesser priced model during Black Friday but it was out of stock. I decided on this one because for the quality the price was great. I was sold on the thinner look, bigger screen (touch screen) and the lifetime map updates. We haven't used it yet, but he has set it up and so far he is very pleased!

Great deal for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this one about a month now and I use the voice command constantly. It's as good as the one built into my other car. My only suggestion would be to update the maps before using. I have traveled about 2000 miles since the purchase and I have found several new highways not detected. Great buy!

Best deal for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've read PLENTY of reviews on PLENTY of GPS Navigators, and you don't have to look any further. This Garmin nuvi2597LMT is exactly what I needed. The traffic updates were spot on and so where the turn by turn directions. I traveled a total of 2856 miles and this little gem was a savior and saved my phone battery! I totally suggest you purchase this.

Not a bad GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Garmin Nuvi 2597 LMT with a 5" screen is a nice GPS. It has some nice features like voice command and several others. Life time maps is also nice to have. The 2597 also gives you a warning when approaching school zones. I have been using it since December 2014 and I do not leave home with out it. Great product ! One thing I wish was better is if the voice could pronounce the names of streets better.

Good value for the money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this GPS to navigate my way around Chicago. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and love the GPS feature on it, but trying to juggle the phone function and GPS function in Chicago traffic just wasn't safe. There are more capable GPS units out there at higher prices, but there was no reason to pay for capabilities I don't need. This unit just does its job and doesn't distract me. I think it's at the sweet spot of price v. performance.

Last year's model works fine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned two Garmin handhelds which I used in the military. They still work great and have been beat up but keep going. So I stuck with a brand that has performed in the past. Not knowing all the bells and whistles that are on vehicle purposed GPS's I discussed the available models with the salesperson. This is the first GPS for driving that I have ever purchased so there were a few things to learn. Based on comparison with the new models and this model I found no advantage to paying more for practically the same thing. I was more than satisfied when I drove with it on to known locations just to see how it would performed. Downloading the initial updates and map data is easy. Just be patient. Learning the interface screen navigation is easy. (Prior experience with handheld GPS's did not have an influence.) While driving to known destinations, several times I deliberately did not follow the voice command and map display instructions and the device quickly conducted re-routing. The new routes where spot on. With this experience I feel pretty confident when I use it to drive to new locations. I'm not sure what additional capability I would get by buying a newer model, but this model serves me well. I could continue with positive remarks about specific features but anyone reading this review probably gets the idea by now. Buy this model, (Garmin won't like this) not a new one. Put the savings towards more gas..
